  1. What is now being said about the V3 is the same I can say about my Versamax. And truthfully in three years it has never malfunctioned. The V3 will have to bring out some bigger stuff to change me. I feel the VM may be the last shotgun I buy.
  2. Its past my bed time. See you all later.
  3. I got tired of Fuing with it. Sent it to Benny and its shooting great. The guns are very cheap in price, mass produced and due to the price they just do not get the TLC we expect. I like mine and shoot it quite a bit. But is was Hell for awhile.
  4. Mine shoots POA at 100 Yds. I shoot Remington low power slugs. I got this to shoot like this by sending to Benny Hill, Triangle Shooting Sports. Maybe its an option for you. JMHO
  5. A-Men I am on board with that. Gary, thanks for your help this year.
  6. Actually its a Lyman expander die. It makes a bell at the top of the case that holds the bullet in at the bullet drop station, that is so the powder funnel does not have to. I have one at station 3 and all is working fine. Hope this is some help.
  7. Hell No ! What sorting might miss, I pay attention to loading. Also, if I have a BF the when they are placed in the go-no go gauge stick out like a sore thumb. IMHO
  8. GEE ! It would be easier to help you pick a woman. But since we are talking guns. I would buy the new Sig 320 9mm Full Size. They cost about $520.00 and I have had the pleasure to touch, hold, feel, and shoot this gun. I currently have five Sigs, 2 STI, 2 Colt, 1 M&P and finally got rid of the glock. This NEW Sig is the bomb, Great firearm, and I will bet M&P, Glock, CZ, XD the list goes on, will suffer greatly when the market finds this jewel. It is truly a winner winner chicken dinner!
  9. I use the Aftec on my 9mm STI race Gun. I also shoot only reloads in it. For the price of advise I feel its the best you can get. I have never had a FTE with it. Now with that said, I have a machined 100 round load checking tool. I promise it it goes in it it will your chamber. Its not overly tight but I will cull 1 to 2 out of 100. I can run those back through the final dies and they are just fine. Hope that helps. Trace, how are you liking DPC shot any matches yet. Ken
  10. Well, I may be the dummy here and other may jump on me but ! I use air, not dialed down and a vacuum. I try and keep my press as clean and free from junk as possible so that I have fewer problems. I feel that the small amount of powder and even a few primers do not represent that big a danger. As I said, maybe I am wrong, but that is what I have been doing for 15 years. Hopefully yo9u will get some more advice here. Good Question! Don't believe I have ever seen it ask.
  11. Back a few months ago a member here was doing the final touches and R&D and a Red Dot scope we was going to market with. Since BE thought that was competive to forum sponsors he had to stop. Does anyone have contact with him, if so please pass the information along. If you prefer the MP the info. Thanks
  12. I also had built one early on with the assistance of Red Jacket. Cost a butt load of money and would never run 10 rounds without a jam, or some other malady. Fix that problem. SOLD IT ! Now shoot a Benny Hill Versa Max. has not failed to work right so far. That said nothing is perfect. I have seen them all fail from time to time. JFWIW
  13. Well, I am sure there are some orders out there, some have got me to. But prices have been anything but stable. One day I find powder, and its a couple dollars cheaper then the next day higher. My last purchase was E3 cost me 30.00 a pound. Sold it for 32.00 a pound. Wow ! I made $2.00 a pound and was still called a thief. I will just quit trying to be a help, my wife beats me up enough so I don't need shooter doing it also. JMHO
  14. Interesting, my manual says 9# and 7 # who really knows. Yes, I used the Stainless Steel one STI
  15. Hey Guys Forward with the RIA 9mm 22TCM Story. First of all lets make sure we are all on the same page. The recoil springs that come with this gun are 9 # and is for use with the 9mm Barrel. The second spring is a 7 # spring and is for the 22 TCM. I talked with Dawson Precision on Friday here is what Dave said. (This information is straight from the factory) The mags we get with the gun are actually 38 Super mags. That is so the 22 TCM shells will fit and feed. For the 9mm rounds to work best the need the 9mm spacer at the back of the magazine. Same hold true with STI etc. Now that Benny has worked over my gun, I also installed the spacers in my magazines. ´ven though all run fine, it did make things appear smoother and again no issues of any kind. Have a great weekend.
  16. Ok, got my RIA pistol back. Major difference in ramp and barrel. No more heave machine marks. Each mag is tuned alike. And now the good part. Just got home from the range. 100% reliable, with this test. Loaded five full mags and one in pipe. I fired each mag as quick as my finger could so 90 rounds down range. 100% Then reloaded and shot for some accuracy at a much slower speed and moved to 25 yards. 54 rounds fired 100%. Then came the rain and washed the spider out. So 144 rounds down range without a glitch. Wanted to shoot a couple hundred more but rain was just to hard. Will go again tomorrow. If rain is gone.
  17. Chuck/the guys at SC wouldn't make that up.If they did get them converted by someone afterwards, the price would be a lot higher. They've gotten VIPs in 38 super, also. IIRC, you can get special runs from STI as long as you order 10 minimum (although that may have changed). I know the VIP in 38 super is made by them, I own one.
  18. If the #12 is set up for the tcm what is the included #9 for? My combo pistol came with the .22TCM bbl installed along with the LIGHTer spring. The "extra" spring for the 9mm bbl feels like a 12lb. I've tested with the 12, a 10lb spring and now have a 9 installed. My tests (at least for my pistol) have shown mag feed lips and OAL is the key to good function. After opening the feed lips on new style 18rd PARA mags my gun is functioning 100%. Also have an STI 140mm mag that works 100% with factory feed lip tolerances (did have to file/grind/sand on the mag body to get a good fit in the RIA grip frame). Since I shoot an STI Maj9 open pistol, I regurlary load to 1.155-1.160. Started loading with that OAL a while back because factory RN ammo runs 1.155. Anything under 1.140 does NOT function well in my STI or now the RIA. Shorter OAL is fine for a Glock or an M&P but NOT in the RIA ............................................ That pretty much runs the same line and what Benny has said. Mine will be here today and maybe I can shoot it some. I will reply back with findings. I also have some STI mags and plan to try them as well.
  19. It might be good to know. That short may have a pressure way above where is safe. Who did you use for your loading data?
  20. Lucky You, several say that is way to short. What power factor are you getting.
  21. I was using 1.12 with a 124 grn JHP in my Sig X5 ran very well.
  22. Yes, 1.150 to 1.160 for round nose 124 grain Loaded with Win 231
