  1. Six out of the eighteen shooting revolver division were GM s. Pretty good percentage compared to the other divisions !!!!!!!! If my Texas Math is still the same that would be 30% !!!!!!! What was the closest ? (17%) ish See what all the other divisions are missing ? Hop
  2. Sent Brad ten more entries over the weekend. That will get us in the mid fifties. Have a large crowd from MS that was @ Nationals still coming so I think we're pretty good to get near our normal number or just a little shy. Hop
  3. Flex you can squad with Elizabeth and I !!!! ;-)
  4. This is the breakdown as of now. We have more coming to the match, but they are at Nationals and will be sending their entries afterwards. (Some of you we have, but are not in the system yet) GM 2 M 5 A 5 B 11 C 9 D 1 U 4 I don't have the breakdown of Sr. Jr ect. so Brad can post that when he gets the chance. I do know at least 1 more GM coming so yes the match will go in as a classifier along with the classifier. Gonna be a few less than normal.....Steel challenge did take several of our shooters away. Oh well too bad for them. Hopalong
  5. It's time again for the Memphis Charity Challenge. A Level II USPSA match featuring but not limited to Revolvers. It's been great getting to see just one or two bottom feeders on a squad full of Revolver shooters getting heckled instead of the other way around !!! Info on the USPSA match calander. If you should decide to take the challenge and come shoot. If you should do so with your bottom feeder 100% of your entry fee will go to our Charity (LeBohneur Childrens Hospital). Come see us and shoot for the Kids. November 3, Memphis TN. If you want to bring another gun you can stay and shoot again on Sunday in another division in the clubs monthly match for just 12 bucks (minust the classifier that will be removed from it's bay on Saturday night for range use on Sunday) Hopalong

  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but just 18? Where are all the "regulars" ? I myself took the first Nationals in Vegaz off. When I heard of all the richochets and the expence for me to go I decided not to attend any Nationals at this particular range. It is just a matter of time until some one gets hurt pretty bad. The flying bullets are the deal breaker for me. Anybody else ? Hopalong
  11. Need answers on shirts quickly please. Ed, Elizabeth said she got them. Sam
  12. Ed, I'll check when I get home Friday. On another note. Apex Tactical signed up as a Match Sponsor !!!! on another note. If I can get Match shirts (T-shirt) for the cost of $12 up to XL would you folks buy some (costs us 8-10 bucks per shirt) ? Hopalong

  15. Finalized stages. Now to get the OK from NROI !!!!!! Since John will give us the nod with no problems (yeah right) plan on 252 rounds minimum. Polish plate rack missed all of you and is looking forward to seeing you again !!!!!!!! So is evil friend ;-) Entries still coming in. Gonna be as good as before !!!!! Lunch available on the range like last year. That's it for now. Hopalong
  16. ktm300 Thank you. On range commands this is what I typically do. Before the first shot fired on RO day I remind them there are rule books in every stage box(didn't get to @ this match as I was doing other RM stuff that morning)emphasizing the point that if they are not sure to take a look again. During shooting on all days I go by every stage before the first shot fired and remind them to use proper range commands(did do this). During shooting I make it a point to go by every stage (even the on my wife was running ) and watch them run a complete squad(did this). (During this time I did correct a few of them). After doing that a few times I can tell which ones I might need to hang around a little longer and watch. Even then there will be a few missed. I'm now going to print off some cheat cards to hand out to help people remember. Hopalong
  17. got 10 entries over the weekend !!!! Great TN sectional, LOVE the new walls and range looked AWESOME with them.....YOU will like them too. HOP
  18. It was in the walk through. I missed it on Friday and could not rectify the situation because most of all 4 of the squads had gone home by Saturday AM. The best way we could come up with the answer to the problem was: Admit we(I) missed it on Friday. Tell everyone to shoot it like written, and IF they didn't like it the rules were to go to arbitration (WE/I did) and let the Arbitration committee handle it (like the rule book says). No one took it to arbitration where I'm 99.9% sure it would have been thrown out of the match. A learning experience for sure. Hopalong
  19. Good afternoon Ladies, and Gentlemen. First of all, The OP has every option to ask his question and it is a viable question. I (Sam Keen) was the RM at this match (already known) and I did not make this decision fast, or without consultation from others including 5 CROs (3 that have been to many nationals) and 1 Range Master Instructor for NROI. Behind the scenes where nobody but Me, the Match Director and said RMI had a 10 minute discussion about this stage Saturday morning. Prior to anybody shooting Because this had slipped through the crack Friday and 4 squads shot the stage (2 of the CROs with Nats experiance) and nobody caught it until Saturday AM all 3 of us agreed that yes it turned out to be an illegal LII stage, but 4 squads had shot it the day previous. The rule book says(not quoting numbers as many of you already have) that if you think it is illegal you can arb it up to when you shoot it. Prior to the Fist shot on Saturday I made the announcement that I had missed catching it and since Friday shooters had shot it that way it was to be shot that way or Arbitrated according to the rule book. Then the Arbitration committee would take care of it. Someone prior posted that they heard if it was arbitrated that they would lose. I did NOT say that, I said the arbitation committe would handle it. and that is what would have happened. We have rules just for this purpose and I as RM and the Match Director told everyone the options according to the rulebook, and my RMI agreed. We would have done what the Arbitration committee said to do(thats the rules), and knowing who we would have gotten for the committee only those who shot that stage on Friday would have gotten to shoot that stage and had the fun and challenge of getting to see if they could do it.(Tossed like rotten cabbage) I as Range Master and NROI read the initial walk throughs sent with the stages for approval and we all thought it was a good stage. Once it was on the ground and shot on Friday after the 4 squads had already shot it did it get caught and that is when I initialed it (because it had already been shot that way and I couldn't get every one back to reshoot it). Yes it slipped through the crack, and Saturday morning it was caught. I explained to everyone there on the range my only options allowed to me by the Rule book and how to go about those options. That was the best way I, my RMI contact and the Match Director could come up to fix a screw up. Not the first one I've ever done, and NOT gonna be the last. I can tell you, that I will take this experience and apply it to the next time I'm RM if this situation comes up. (I've been asked to be the 2013 Alabama and 2013 Tn section RM so there is fore warning for those who did not like the way I and the Match Staff and NROI officials handled it) Again, Thanks to all who came I hope they enjoyed the whole match including the Famous Illegal stage, and please come back next year if you can. We will try very hard to come up with more and exciting stages and try our hardest to hold them and the match staff to the rules written in the book as that is what makes our sport so great. Please let me add. If you are given incorrect range commands at any match LI- LV it is your obligation to bring that up to the match staff, be it the other ROs on the stage, the CRO or the RM. If it goes uncorrected it is not just their fault after that. As Range master I did correct several of my staff on range commands, but It is not very good to hear about poor range commands by your staff after the fact and too late to correctly teach match management to these Highly Paid Professionals called Range officers (being cynical there) Respectfully, Hopalong
  20. Hi all, just a quick note. Entries coming in, but slower than normal.....Please send them if you are coming. guaranteed rates at the match hotel going away about the 15th of October so get those rooms. My Pay job is getting in the way of my PLAY job so don't look for a prize table of much size or diversity If someone out there would LOVE to be the Sponsor/Prize table person please come talk to me at the MCC. Stages are drawn, but still need approved....just a technicality. New EVIL prop is on its way to Mempis to torture and abuse everyone. We have all new walls and so things will look different for everyone. Quality is still where it has been if not better, just a little behind on the prize table this year (apoligies) There will be some stuff for auction as usuall, and 2 guns raffled off at the match, (1 for match entrants only) Gotta get the TN sectional done this weekend and then we'll work at getting the MCC down on the ground. See ya in 4 weeks. Hopalong
