    Hammer slipped DQ.

Can't believe this is the first crap I've gotten from you.

    Hammer slipped DQ.

Fortunately, I was able to shot a match last night to get me back in the grove. Six stages and no problems and I beat a personal best on one stage we shoot most weeks so I'm happy. In addition to slippery I just need to put my focus on the hammer alone when I am doing it and not be thinking about the stage or anything else for that moment.

    Hammer slipped DQ.

Had my first AD and DQ yesterday. First stage of the day. Went to drop the hammer on my Shadow and it slipped. It felt really slick when the hammer slipped from my thumb. I've tried decocking with the two finger method as well and may reevaluate that but I've seen someone DQ with that as well. I think it had a little oil on it but I also didn't have the proper focus on it when I was doing it. I was listening to a bunch of people talk instead of paying attention. Luckily it was pointed where it was supposed to be and no chance of any damage. I've been shooting Cz's exclusively for 6 years now whether competition or not so I've done it thousands of times. Just a reminder for all of us that have to manually drop the hammer to be extra vigilant. I really never thought I would do it and I'm sure some of you will feel the same after reading this but it might save one of you the embarrassment and lost day.
  4. Start wherever you like. If you like 1911's and want to become proficient shoot Single Stack or limited 10 if you would like a few less restrictions on holsters etc.
  5. I took mine out after it backed out. Never bothered me. I do not feel like it has a lot of over travel anyway.
  6. The last one I broke was from CZ custom. I ordered some from CZ usa as well and I think they are identical unless there is some non visible difference. It actually lasted less than the factory spring. Any pics of your Ion Bonded shadow? My duo tone finish is worn to bare metal in quite a few places. Doesn't bother me but I guess I'll have to take care of it eventually.
  7. I do oil and grease my springs. I clean my gun and oil it weekly Doesn't seem to help. If there is a burr it is tiny.
  8. At least it was easier for me to replace the second time. Next time I'm sure it will be faster. I will get my GM trigger spring replacer card soon enough.
  9. I just broke my second trigger return spring on my Shadow. This one lasted three months. I shoot once a week about 150 rounds but I dry fire 5 times a week for 20-30 minutes. I had scheduled it to be replaced this month but I guess I have to move it up to every two months. Anyone else going through springs quickly?
  10. I have the 24 as well. Really like it, more now that I decided to move my gun into the bladder storage area and out of the main compartment. Used to have an i-shot bag, moved to the Rush 24 from it. Just curious about the Gurkha, not really sure I want to move to it. I need to see/touch first. Funny that is where I moved my pistol to as well. It works perfect and leaves you with a ton of room. My previous bag was an I shot as well and i thought it was top notch. It just took one big match where I had to walk up and down the range 5 times to make me switch to a backpack though.
  11. I think it looks really good. I use a 5.11 rush 24 bag and love using a backpack instead of a traditional range bag. If this had been available I may have tried it instead.

    22 conversion?

It will work but most of the Kadet kits need just a little bit of fitting. It really isn't a big deal just takes a minute with a file. I'm sure Lloyd would do it for you if you were nervous about it though. You file the Kadet top end and not your frame. The instructions included were easy to follow and it makes for a good fit.
  13. The funniest part to me is the charge extra to upgrade the sights. I think for $2k you should get to put whatever you want including a red dot.
  14. I couldn't imagine carrying the Shadow on anything but a duty rig. It is heavy as hell and after a match I'm always more than glad to take it off. And that is with a CR Speed belt and a dropped offset holster. The rear competition sight is also so sharp I couldn't imagine putting it under my shirt.
  15. Statik, If you do make your own casefeeder I'd like to see it. (already have one so just curious) I think it is one of those easy looking devices that would be hell to get just right in a diy project.
  16. I had to change my load .2 grains from my original batch. My first load was only 3/4 lb to try it. I now have 8 lbs and don't have a problem if I have to change it again since this should last me a year.
  17. Not sure what I have but I have the competition rear and a dawson .100 fiber front. Not sure of the height but I shoot about 8 inches high at 25 yards. Pretty substantial. It was funny watching Phil Strader try to show me up with my gun on a 6" plate at 30 yards since I was missing it. I didn't mention that it was firing high though when I gave it to him. I plan to get another shorter sight when I have time to figure it out.
  18. Maybe I misunderstood I thought you were referring to the shadow extended safety.
  19. You can get the part from czusa as well. I just ordered a replacement for my shadow.
  20. Who built the top end? Can you give us some details about it.
  21. I want: a better picture to shoot it to own it Now get to work on finishing it up.

    CZ Trigger Problems

Jayd, you bought Spanky's gun right? If you need help tearing it down or something let me know. I have torn mine apart 4 times this week fixing stuff and that trigger problem was the same as mine from last night and I got great help from Burning Squirrel and was able to fix it.
  23. Thanks a ton man. After tearing it down three times it turns out it was the screw. That was an easy fix. I just figured it had something to do with my previous tear down. I'm back up and running. Thanks again.
  24. I replaced my trigger spring this week and shot 500 rounds in Phil Strader's class and the first day of the Texas Open with out any problems. I got back today and when I went to clean my gun I noticed the double action is not working. I took it all the way down again and can't find out what is happening. When in double action the gun just clicks without moving the hammer. It feels as if it is missing something. It fires fine from half cock or single action. Any suggestions on what happened or what to look for? thanks in advance as I need help in a hurry if I can fix it tonight.
