  1. What mag extensions are you using?
  2. I've been looking hard at the SP-01 for 3-gun as well, although my budget runs more to the base model, then upgrading later. (My current skill level also mitigates in this direction.)
  3. Dumb question: will we need rifle slings? (Local matches requires them.)
  4. I've still got most of my Army issue gear...bringing everything might be a bit excessive.
  5. Howdy! If you're at A&M, we have a 3-gun club/team (OK, the team part is a work in progress, the whole thing just got started this year) on campus. Look up "Aggie 3 Gunners" on FB. They've got a tamu.edu student organization page as well, but the URL eludes me at the moment. And there's a local club south of town (ccc3g.com) that puts on very challenging monthly matches.
  6. Nordic's out of stock on the handles right now. I've got a 712, +4 assembley, clamp, and follower all on the way. Should be here next week. Need to drop a note to Nordic asking when they'll make another batch of bolt handles.
  7. Does there exist a Ceracoat type finish available in maroon? I'm in the process of putting together a shotgun for 3-gun (to replace my 870) and since we're in the process of building up a 3-gun club team here at Texas A&M, I was thinking about getting it finished in maroon, maybe with a white aTm logo on the receiver. The closest Ceracoat comes in is Crimson. Not really enthused about Duracoat. Any others out there?
  8. Dangit Preston...now you got Liz Phair stuck in my head.
  9. I had to find this thread when I'd just about decided on a Julie Golob model for 3-gun...
  10. I tested these on a 712 that I’ve opened the gas ports and runs Win reduced recoil slugs reliably. Although quite accurate and soft shooting, all but one stove-piped the hull in the ejection port. Not enough oomph to hit the ejector with enough force. Anybody have set of ksmirk’s springs that they’re not using? Well, that's a bummer. I just ordered the gun and parts to build it up. Most of what I've read/been told is that they like heavy (shot weight) loads, anyhow. Ah well.
  11. Ammo cost (for the shooters) maybe, especially for local matches? I know buck is a good bit more expensive than bird, especially if you're shooting Rio, Estate, or Wally World bulk pack bird at a local match.
  12. For those of us not from the Dallas area, what's the normal weather for late October? Long sleeves, short sleeves, rain gear?
  13. Anyone out there tried any of the new ones in a CZ-712U?
  14. I think I've found a holster that will work...are drop leg holsters kosher? I didn't see anywhere in the rules one way or the other? My biggest problem is that, being a luddite, I don't own any pistols with built in rails for the lights, so I had to get an adapter. But holsters made for lights usually assume that the pistol has built in rails. The adapter throws the dimensions off, and things don't fit. Yeah, and M&P Pro is on my shopping list, but that's way down the road.
  15. I sent an email to Blade-Tech. Their website just says "1911"; doesn't specify barrel, so I assume fullsize. I actually have a full size, but the commander has night sights, and the full size doesn't.
  16. Any chance of picking up Dunkin' Donuts for us Old Army guys that prefer coffee? My AR upper just went off to Crusader to get Slipstreamed. Can anyone recommend a good holster for a 4.25" 1911 with a Streamlight TRL-1? DSG is out of stock on that one...
  17. No. No motorized vehicles. Gun carts (stroller style) are allowed. The farthest walk between any two stages will be less than 100 yards. Most will be 20 yards or less! I've got a garden wagon I used at LaRue. Will that be kosher?
  18. Nordic's CS answers their email pretty quick, too. I emailed to ask about mag tubes for my 870 (out, waiting for a new batch to get made), and got a reply the same day.
  19. True W.E.C.S.O.G.* *Wile E. Coyote School of Gunsmithing
  20. Grrrr...both Nordic's home site and Make Ready are out of the +4 tube assemblies.
  21. ^^^ this. I saw chokes being changed on carts at LaRue. I was the only one in my squad with a side-saddle; I loaded it at the preload table.
  22. I'll be out Saturday, with what might be the last running of the Rifle That Goes PING! (And I replaced the clip catch spring, so hopefully it will only go PING after firing a full 8 rounds.)
  23. Just for clarification...the original post states that this is a rifle & pistol only match. Yet the rules mention shotguns in numerous places. I want to make sure I can leave the shottie at home. (Although my 'social' shotgun is probably better kitted out in the light department (dedicated Surefire forearm) than any of my rifles and pistols.)
  24. Good to go! Now I just have to figure out the pistol/light and holster combo...
