  1. OK, cool. I will come by Friday afternoon and get all signed in for Sat morning... See ya'll there!
  2. Good point. I never thought that through, since I don't expect to ever shoot SS myself...
  3. I am registered on MatchSignUp.org. Are you saying we have to register on site, as well? (never been to this before, so need details).
  4. Yeah, but as far as the competition goes, you're shooting minor in the same division (Single Stack) against those shooting major. Does having two more rounds in the gun really make up for the disadvantage of being scored minor?
  5. MatchSignUp FAQ: MatchSignUp can be used for any match, big or small...but it seems that only larger matches have made use of it. Maybe because it's not so well known. The website charges the equivalent of one entry for the match, and Google Checkout charges 2% of the entry fee (kinda like PayPal). I have used it to register for the Monster Match and the Factory Gun Classic matches. It's super easy for shooters to register, and you assign a PIN for your entry in case you want to later change squads, equipment, division, etc.
  6. Doesn't everyone in SS also shoot Major?
  7. Also, we're still waiting for the Squad schedule as per the website. How's it comin?
  8. What is your AFSC? That might narrow it down a bit? If you can get MacDill AFB in Tampa, you will have it made as far as shooting goes. Over a dozen matches per month within a 2 hour drive, and the local range has weekly matches in the evenings. Look into Nellis AFB...Vegas. The USPSA Nationals are going to be there in 2012.
  9. Welcome aboard, and to the addiction! Let us know what city your in, fill in your Profile info. It will help you connect with other shooters in your area. We can also suggest some matches for you...there are about a dozen separate matches in Central FL (from Tampa to Jacksonville) every month. Erich
  10. Dittos...the GTR gang comes through again! Now that the Classifying is done, let the real games begin in January! As for me...I botched a couple stages, but overall did OK. I was just playing for speed today, and it bit me a couple times Time to throttle back a bit and execute the fundamentals. See you all at the next match...Factory Gun Classic coming up! Erich
  11. Just got home from doing setup. These are some fun Classifiers, even some steel in there. Registration at 0830. Safety Brief at 0900. Shooting starts at 0930. Be there! Erich
  12. You gotta let me dry fire that CC trigger at the Classic. I'm trying to decide on PRP or CC. I already decided against Springer. I thought a weighted guide rod was illegal for USPSA Production...or was it IDPA?
  13. goto GTR It will certainly be nice to not have to drive 1.5 hours to a match at least one weekend per month! GTR is also making good progress on their new Pro Shop. Steven is setting up a top-notch storefront...
  14. Congrats on the new XDM. According to my RangeLog.com shot log, my 525 is up to 2971 rounds since new (Oct 21st) and has been a load n go gun in every match (8 now, including the Monster Match) and practice session. Will you be at the Factory Gun Classic in a couple weeks? How about our Classifier Match here in Gainesville on Sunday? You should come on up and we can compare notes and punch some holes together See ya, Erich
  15. Wow, yeah nice job for first match, no way I would have known that.
  16. All the local matches I have been to here in N. Central FL get scores up within 72 hours at the latest. Most of them are paper scored, too. The only hiccup in the last few matches was when some dufus in my squad took all the classifier stage score sheets home with him. They waited a few days for them to turn up, but they eventually gave up and posted DNFs for everyone missing a scoresheet on that stage and put up the scores for everyone. Personally, I like to see them within that 72 hour time frame, but don't get wrapped around the axle about it. I have also considered taking pics of my score sheets, now...especially after the guy went home with some.
  17. Bump to the top...still a couple slots left, folks. I have a buddy from CT flying in to shoot with us on Saturday! I see the signup site says 160 round count...but that seems low for a 10 stage match. What is the average stage round count looking like? I told my buddy to bring 300 rounds to be safe...
  18. Hey there Dave! You get your airplane ticket yet??
  19. Punished, I will see you at the Factory Gun Classic, if you shoot on Saturday. Here's a lame video of me shooting stage 6 at the last Hernando Sportsmans Club match this month. I absolutely LOVE Texas Stars, and we now have one at the Gainesville range!
  20. Here's a great link with concise info regarding IPSC/USPSA, basic rules primer, etiquette, etc. Welcome to the addiction. As an example of my addiction, I have shot in 10 matches since my first one Oct 2nd and shot over 2900 rounds through my new XDM 525...
  21. I tried a Serpa CQC positive retention holster for USPSA for a couple matches. I went back to the stock SA holster for the simplicity. It's definitely legal for USPSA and IDPA, but it does sit pretty high. The forward cant I like, since it does sit up so high on the hip. If I could find a DOH mount for the Serpa, I would try it again.
