I guess I'm not the only one. I prefer WIN as well but have had no issues with RP brass either. Starline is just as nice. Speer is nice but seems to have looser primer pockets than the rest, but it works just fine for minor.

Yeah man if your press isn't blue you will just bang your head in frustration constantly and very rarely put out good quality ammo on a side note I think people should learn to load on a non progressive press. Understand the process, what to look for, how everything feels, and learn what you truly want in the future. A turret or single stage always comes in handy for me anyway. In the end you will probably be much more competent than the guy that buys a 650 for a first press.

I use the rcbs range master 750 and I watched a video on youtube where a guy was trying to show the gempro was soo much better than the rcbs, but in the end they gave the same reading. I don't think that much resolution really matters in this sport. edit: if you do end up watching that youtube video, my scale does not jump around like that one was.

I usually load anywhere from 1.135 to 1.150. My 124gr load is at 1.150 and my 135gr load is at 1.135 edit: for my XDM

Can someone clarify if the hornady lnl ap now comes with the powder through expander linkage ? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/959962/hornady-quick-change-powder-through-expander-linkage Also I haven't been able to find a clear answer about if the bullet feed die comes with the new PTX insert as well ? meaning if I get the bullet feed die, I shouldn't need to buy the PTX insert I would hate to order these things extra items if they are included with the above. Well you don't really need to understand the "need" for it, do what you like or what is adequate. I can adequately wash my car just spraying it off with a water hose, so why do people waste all the time to polish ? If you like you don't even really need to tumble it and i'm sure it will load up just fine. For me this is a hobby and I like to take pride in my work and I really like working with brand new looking brass. It has actually helped me spot some defects in cases that I would have normally missed. I actually like the work it takes to get my brass to be extremely clean. If its not for you, it's not for you. Also as far as on target benefits, I would like to think they're are some. After 10 or so firings cases can get a pretty healthy buildup if not cleaned out which has to decrease case volume, how much, I don't know. If you start with a clean case every time that variable is totally eliminated. So personally I don't mind wasting all that time to make my ammo the way I like. If wasting all that time was the issue I would probably just buy all my ammo. Also sometimes I even run my loaded ammo through a tumbler with corn cob and polish, to get it looking extra good. Edit: I dont use a SS media tumbler. I use an ultrasonic cleaner and it takes 16 minutes per batch to get spotless.

well I shot a couple shots through the chrono today, but won't be able to do more testing till saturday. 3.5 n320 at 1.135 oal shot 954 fps, and 3.8 7625 at 1.135 oal shot 909 fps. So it looks like i'll need to bump the 7625 up to at least 4.0 hopefully not much more than that.

I went with the gas pipe flanges and pipe. Very easy and very strong. These pics were from when I was still applying polyurethane. The other pic is a gas pipe flange with 2 pieces of wood to add an extra little height. I have since added some shelves to the rear. The top is 2 sheets of 3/4" cabinet grade plywood laminated together. 66" x 27" It's also nice that you can unscrew the legs and there is no wobble. I also ended up painting the flanges black along with the legs, makes it look a lot better

How is the accuracy at 1.135 ? I got the bullets today and noticed they hit the lands pretty quick, I was planning on loading to 1.135 with these as well. Well I've got a good idea of where to start with the n320, I've just been trying to figure out where to start with the 7625. I'm sure I will figure it out, I will try to post chrono results saturday if this rain ever stops.

that's exactly my point, these 'Race' guns were designed around 10mm length cartridges, so feeding wouldn't be an issue. You would have more case volume to play with bullet powder combos, so pressure shouldn't be an issue at all. Some people are running their 40's at 10mm oal. So i'm guessing the only reason would be brass

So i've read a couple threads on this particular bullet and I have a good idea where to start. My bullets should be here wednesday and I will be loading 9mm minor. My two powders I like and have on hand for 9 minor are imr sr7625 and n320. The max oal I usually load to is 1.150 due to the mag, I'm not sure yet if these bullets will still let me go that long due to their profile. Anyway I'm looking for some info from people that have loaded these bullets with one of the above two powders. It's a lot harder to find good data for odd bullet weights and the fact that their coated. Any first hand experience would be much appreciated. I should be able to get out and chrono them sometime next weekend and I will post those results as well, but as of yet the bullets aren't in my hands. Thanks

I'm kind of curious of the pros and cons of shooting a 10mm in limited class (BESIDES BRASS AVAILABILITY) Wouldn't the 10mm give you a little more flexibility as far as using an even heavier bullet or what not. So brass aside could the 10mm be a viable option ?

I have used berrys 124gr rn-ds for quite sometime and they have always been very accurate and good quality, I would not hesitate to recommend them. I recently ordered some bayou bullets to try out, in the 135gr variety.

I had a similar situation with my digital scale, I moved it away from my rcbs trim mate and that fixed the issue

If you look into the dykem transparent, it comes in a lot of different colors and supposedly applies thinner and dries faster. Anyone tried the transparent variation ? Seems like at my local matches everyone uses red, and I'd like to go a different route.

I think the dillon 550b would be perfect for you, seems like a better upgrade than the turret. Yes the turret will save you from placing brass 4 times in the shellholder, but with the 550 you can go on cruise mode and just keep adding a piece of brass and a bullet every time. Also anytime you want to take a drink, watch tv, go to the bathroom just stop with the handle down and that should keep you from loosing where you're at. I am actually in the same situation as you, I still haven't made up my mind for my next press. I'm kind of leaning towards a hornady lnl. I started reloading a long time ago, mostly for rifle and now I need to crank out more per hour myself.

I've heard that rice is a waste of time. I don't personally do that big of quantity at a time, but I would probably look into wet tumbling with stainless steel media. There are quite a few people on this forum that have made their own wet tumblers for large quantity use, and the results look great. Edit: there are 2 threads on this 12 and 13 threads down

I use the competition trigger spring and the reset has been unaffected by the spring.
