Same here I used to reload a lot of plated bullets until I found Bayou Bullets and I haven't looked back. There is no lead fouling and they are clean. Also a green bullet looks really cool.

Here is one pic, I had a few more, but I'm having trouble finding them. I really like the gun, I recieved six mags with it and it kind of pisses me off that only about 2 mags out of the six drop free from the gun the other 4 stick pretty bad. I also found out I wont be able to use the bayou 180's, I have to load them down to 1.100 and im just barely off the lands at that distance, but I found out the berry's 180's I can load to 1.135-1.150 and still be a safe distance off the lands, also the bullet is about .030 shorter than the bayou's. So i'm much more comfortable with that. I was getting major velocity with 4.2 n320 with the bayou's

moto are you sure that information is right ? I chrono'd 165 berry's at 1.135 out of a cz cts with 4.6 n320 and averaged 916 fps.

not sure on price but I know the container store has them if you have one around you edit: oops I thought you were talking about bin dividers, I'm not sure if they have bin dams or not

Picked this up last friday

well I just happened to call the cz custom shop yesterday and they were awesome to deal with. I paid them today for a cts and it's already in the hands of fed ex. I ended up getting 2 sizes of front sights, one thinner than whatever comes on it. I also got an additional three mags. I will post some pics when I get it, it will be at my dealer on thursday, but I probably won't have it in my hands till next week. I'm pretty frickin excited about it!

Yeah I thought about picking up the 5.25 in .40 but I'm really wanting a little more weight in my hand. I have a buddy that picked one up when they first came out, and I would end up changing just about every piece of the gun out and I still don't think the trigger would be anywhere near as nice as a cz. Also I would have to cut up my blade tech holster to get the 5.25 to fit. I have all the powder river components in mine including their titanium components, and the trigger is very nice for a striker fired gun. It was no where near as nice as the shadow target I handled in the store the other day. So basically yes I am looking to try a different platform that is not polymer framed. I really do like the gun and shoot it well, but I don't want another one in .40

I just wanted to add, I'm not necessarily on a gear hunt for the newest greatest thing out. I just want a .40 cal gun to shoot in limited class, for a long time, and obviously improve my game. I am currently shooting 9 minor. An XDM to be exact, and I don't plan to get rid of this gun. The only .40 cal gun I have is a springfield EMP, it has a 3" barrel and 8 round mags, so thats probably not a great option for limited. I also really like the 5.4" barrel on the cz.

So I've been doing more research on the TS and the CTS and I think I'm going to pick up a CTS from the custom shop. In my research I read some comments that just didn't vibe well with me. I think I saw something along these lines said twice " If you are a C or D class shooter, get it it's a great gun" Which to me these people are saying yeah it's a great gun but you will never get M or GM class with one, which I kinda think is BS. Anyway I think I'm going to end up going with the CTS, I usually take the road less traveled I know this isn't the reloading forum but from what i've read in the past I know cz's are notorious for having a short leade. I will probably be running 180's in the gun and I've got some n320 sitting around I'll probably try out. Can you guys get something like this loaded out to 1.15 ish ?

I may have missed something here but I thought you mentioned you loaded a double charged round and weighed the whole cartridge compared to the others. Is it possible you mixed the double charge round in with the rounds you were intending on shooting. I have had one squib ever, loading on a single stage at that, stupid mistake, but it did make me realize I wasn't perfect

also is it pretty normal for new shooters to the sport to start off with a c card ? I think thats probably where I will end up

The A,C double tap was something that happened at a previous match. The match in this video my scoring was actually really good, besides the first stage, and the last stage was all A's but I had a failure to engage that hurt. Yeah I have emailed dave a couple of times and am aware he does offer classes. I've actually met you once, I believe at an ARC shoot. You even offered to let a friend of mine use your chrony. And for sure I would totally love to get some one on one time with Dave. And if I had the money I would be getting dave once a week, I would love to put that kind of effort into it. I know I have a ton of different things to work on, movement was a big one from the start, so I have been trying to move faster. You should of seen my first match I was just walking, maybe a little skip here and there I recently just got back into school after 10 years, and i've been trying to sell off a couple guns I don't shoot to get a true major limited gun. on my LNL I'm honestly getting +/-.001 meaning 1.122-1.124 I do notice though when its not full I get one round that comes out a little shorter.

So I was hesitant to do this but we all start somewhere. I shot my first match towards the end of october 2011. And in November and December was kind of slow due to the weather. So I haven't really shot too many matches. I'm still Unclassified. I would really like to improve my game. I know I have a ton to work on, but just wanted to post a vid and maybe get some feedback. One if the things I've really been trying to do is make sure I have a good sight picture before pulling the trigger. I had one match where my double taps on close targets, where all A, C. This was the match yesterday, other than the first stage I felt like I did ok. So lay it on me

Donnie from Bayou bullets also makes a 135gr bullet. I am just about out of them, I really liked them. Might want to look in that weight range it's a good compromise between 124/5 and 147's especially if you can't make up your mind.

I have neither but I do use tubes with the bullet feed dies. I find it far easier to place a piece of brass than to place a bullet on top of the brass. I can run my press pretty damn fast this way, when the handle is down I'm grabing a piece of brass and when the plate gets to the bottom the brass slides into place so easy.

You know personally I see no reason the go with digital calipers, especially these $30 dollar varieties that work just fine. I prefer to use an analog caliper and it is no slower than a digital in anyway and IMO more accurate. The cheap digitals I have seen throw that 5 after the .001, and on an analog/dial caliper you can see in more detail exactly where you're at. The digitals don't really get good until you spend a pretty penny on a quality brand, but even still I prefer a solid dial caliper. I don't really see any benefit to the digital caliper. But to each their own. They might be the way to go if you can't read a dial caliper, but it's really not to hard to figure out. I would totally recommend a digital scale, just for ease of use. Just get a quality one and you should be good to go, I believe the one Brian is selling with the lifetime warranty is a good little scale. It never hurts to have a balance beam scale around, but just get a good digi scale.

Yeah I agree with that, I also load precision rifle. The current bullets I am seating with the lee die work awesome with it for pistol, but I have noticed with different profile bullets it can and will vary the OAL more than I like. But since its working great for me on my go to bullet, I just can't personally see investing the 73 bucks or so. I do agree with your post though

I've been wanting to get the redding competition seating die myself, but its hard to justify the price when I just loaded 300 rounds and the OAL is +/- .001" with the lee seating die. It can be adjusted without moving the die, just doesn't have marks. It also looks like hornady came out with a micrometer stem for their seating die. Nothing against redding or forster, I think they make great products. I just personally can't see where it would help me at all.

Yeah I like the lee bushings a little better myself they are knurled on the outside and have a divot for a spring loaded lock, very nice. The only thing that sucks is I now have a Lnl and a lee bushing press, oh well. As far as the topic goes, I agree with others once you tighten the lock ring to the bushing they essentially become one, and if you like you can tighten them down via the lock ring. I haven't had an issue with them coming loose.

Thanks for the input, kinda what I figured, just thought I would ask. I'm not necessarily in a hurry to purchase. I have thought about a used STI but if I go that route I will just go with SVI. I was just trying to explore other alternative platforms. Will a CTS hold its own up against an STI style gun ? Also I really need to sell a few of my current guns before I purchase another.

I'm not sure about the powder charge but I typically load my RN 124's at 1.150, the mag can't handle much longer. Also on my xdm the 135's hit the lands at 1.140 so I'm loading those at 1.125. Generally anywhere from 1.135-1.150 works very well in the xdm, you still need to make sure the oal length will work with your bullet profile. OAL varies gun to gun, and dependent on the bullet profile.

So I started shooting uspsa competitions october last year and I've been having a blast. I have been shooting limited class with an XDM and prefer to stay in Limited. I like my XDM, but I have the itch for a new limited gun, it is just the 4.5" model. I have been shooting and reloading for a long time, I'm just new to the runnin and gunnin. Obviously I would love to have an SVI but the wait and the price I think is just a little beyond me right now. I just started back to school for the first time in ten years. So price is somewhat of an issue here. I have not personally owned a cz but have shot plenty and I really enjoy their products. Is there a gun in the cz line you would recommend for a limited gun, maybe a TS ? Or a custom cz of some kind that isn't out of the world priced ? I'm just curious to hear input from the cz crowd. I would prefer a price under 2k, 1500 sounds more ideal. thanks
