  1. With the SnS coated 135 RN bullet, it looks like I have to drop the OAL to 1.06 or less in order for the round to feed. Does that seem normal? I'm so used to working with longer bullets in my Shadow (1.135).
  2. Tried some SNS 135 RN loaded with OAL of 1.125. They won't feed in the stock III. So I'll try something shorter.
  3. Is there an ideal OAL when going with round nose? Just ordered some 135gr round nose from SnS to try out.
  4. Took my self-polished Stock III (9mm) to the range yesterday to test it out. Kind of mixed results. My rounds would only fire a couple of times before an FTF. These are 147gr SnS flat points (coated). OAL 1.14. However, when I borrowed some ammo from a friend, the gun ran without issue. His were 124 gr bayous round nose. Not sure of OAL, but definitely shorter.
  5. Awesome. Did most of this last night (though not the T3 yet.) I missed a couple of the things you mentioned. Might as well tear it down again and give it another go.
  6. Which reminds me. I was looking at parts on LRA and Henning. Came across the improved hammer pin and reamer kit. Didn't buy it. But made me wonder if there's much value there.
  7. Sounds easy enough. I'll work on the sear and leave the safety alone.
  8. Started using a toothpick for the job last night. Seemed to work ok.
  9. I suppose that's true. But taking material off the safety sure seems easier than having to take that sear cage apart numerous times.
  10. Ahh. So I have to file the sear, rather than the safety itself.
  11. Finished my initial run at reworking my Stock III last night. Lots of new Extreme parts. Lots of polishing. Also added the one-piece sear. Much smoother now, though I may go back in for some more polishing. And I still haven't tried fitting the CGW T3 disco yet. Everything seems fine, except that thumb safety will no longer engage. I'm assuming it's going to need some modification to go along with the new sear. Anyone have any guidance on which surface needs tuning?
  12. Great. New uncertainty for my ongoing work with the Stock III. I bought a lighter recoil spring for the gun, but have no idea if it was designed for the long or short guide rod. But I take it then, that Stock III is considered a longslide model?
  13. Just got a set of grips from LRA. Also no grip screws. Just emailed them. Hopefully, they'll send some along.
  14. Ah, well that saves me some money and potential headaches down the road....
  15. Just wondering if anyone is actually messing with the sear-hammer engagement surfaces? I keep thinking about getting one of the stoning jigs from Power Custom for my 1911s. I notice they also have an adaptor for the CZ 75 and Tangfolio EA-9/P9. Wonder if that would also work for the Stock II/IIIs. But that's an additional $250 or so once you pay for jig, adaptor and stone.
  16. Excellent. I have the parts. But just waiting on the drill bit that I plan to use to widen that pin hole in the disconnector.
  17. Does the CGW version have one or two wings? I was planning to use it with the one-piece sear.
  18. I'll apologize upfront if I seem dense on this. But I'm still trying to figure out exactly which surfaces of the T3 disco need work. I see Adam's photo (attached here again) showing the surface to remove material from. But then I also see posts from others talking about working on wings, faces and legs. I'm sure this will make more sense once I tear the gun down and start reassembly with new parts. But I'm trying to get a clearer understanding about which areas of the T3 disco will need modification to install in a Stock III with a once-piece sear. What I think I know: 1. The pin hole needs to be enlarged 2. The leg surface, as shown in this photo, needs work. If there's anything else, it would be so helpful (and I realize I'm asking a lot) to see a photo with arrows pointing to the area that needs work.
  19. Just want to say thanks for all these photos. I'm still collecting all the parts for my Stock III, but once I start work on it - these photos are going to quite helpful.
  20. Sent David a note as well. Just starting work on my Stock III. Would love to go with that Cajun disconnnector. But would really like it if I don't have to mess with the modifications. Call me lazy.
  21. Picking mine up from my FFL today. (Thanks again idhawk) I'm using an accu shadow right now and just love it. But when I made the switch to production in October, I told myself I'd try the Stock II/III at some point to compare the two platforms.
  22. Just grabbed one of the Stock IIIs and will be looking to add a fiber front site. I prefer a thin option in the .100 width or narrower. I see Dawson has a nice selection. Anyone go that route? What height do I need?
