JB Weld & a 650 seating stem..?
goldfieldshooter replied to IGOTGLOCKED's topic in General Reloading
Roy It's amazing how Dillon seems to get these things sorted. It's almost like they might have done it before -
David I have seen that frame of yours and it looks like it needs some work on it . I would suggest some lightening cuts or serrations along the sides. Whoops ! Where did the 'Series 80' stamp go?

That info is from 2010 and is out of date in a lot of ways. The only way is to get a refs ruling. PM sent. Coatesy

Range Report: Factory Bianchi Guns
goldfieldshooter replied to RippinSVT's topic in NRA - Bianchi Cup
It will have to be beers, it is the tradition! Candy bars are full of sugar; and that is bad for you. -
If you only shoot local matches, with a free entry and you are not worried about where you finish( if you do) and having a frustrating day; just don't gauge your ammo. If you travel to a shoot, pay an entry fee and want a day when you stand at the line and know your ammo will work, gauge. I pay a lot for travel, accommodation, entry fees and components. To have the peace of mind of standing on the line at the Bianchi Cup knowing that my rounds will feed is priceless. It is part of loading ammo. It's like checking primers.checking powder weights, etc. it's part of being a shooter.

Range Report: Factory Bianchi Guns
goldfieldshooter replied to RippinSVT's topic in NRA - Bianchi Cup
Hey RippinSVT and The Blade, How did the big challenge at Green Valley go last weekend? Targetmaster V Targetmaster. -
I would assume it means Metallic and Production. It is exactly the same wording as the previous programs.
-
Chuck Trigger has to above 2 lb. In NRA Action if you have gone to slide lock you have probably made a mistake loading your mags. None of my mags lock back now; after pushing the lever into engagement with my thumb during a string I rounded off the catch.

The program makes interesting reading. Cut from 80 to 40 pages, no mention of the awards schedule for the main event ( that is the Tues-Fri matches for 90% of us) and I can't see a new shooters meeting.mentioned anywhere. Teams events have all but disappeared except an International event allowing one team per country if I read correctly; or is it only one US team allowed? It is going to be a different feeling this year and like most feelings there is good and bad and they are all subjective. To be fair I will leave my main post until after the event.

Hitek Coating, Titegroup, and Smoke
goldfieldshooter replied to ArrDave's topic in General Reloading
The difference could be in the curing of the coating. -
Smallbore As Alan says get a routine in your head and stick to it. Mine is to move the lever, reload, put empty mag back in holder, holster gun. Raise left hand and before I raise the right hand to show ready I look at my mag holder( shows me what string we are on) and my right hand grips the gun, thumb touches lever to check setting and then hand is raised to show ready. No doubts in your mind allows you to concentrate on the target. If in doubt about your routine, write prompt cards for each event and velcro them to your ammo/range bag. Last thing to look at before you raise that hand. With the way my memory is heading I might be looking for my old cards again

Tight Groups except for one flyer. Why?
goldfieldshooter replied to The Blade's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
Remember, At the Cup the only hand cranked round you fire is the first in each event. They are at 10 yds and that amount of shift will not even be noticeable. All my 1911s have done this to a smaller or larger degree and to be honest the only time I notice it is in shoot offs at 35yds on the barricade. Cold gun and hand cranked round. Coatesy -
What size Primer for 38 Special ammo
goldfieldshooter replied to WildBill542's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
Federal small pistol. -
Make sure the shoot organisor is sending your scores to the NRA and then you can check your classification on the NRA Competition web site .Otherwise you can shoot the Flagler and Bianchi as ungraded.

xdm competition legal in production?
goldfieldshooter replied to chuckpetree's topic in NRA - Bianchi Cup
Minimum 3.5 lb trigger for NRA Production. Weigh it using a weight ,not a pull gauge and see what it really is. I would shoot a few thousand rounds and see what your 5 lb trigger ends up at. -

I would invest it wisely on the Kentucky Produce Market. -
Use Dillon case lube. Problem will go away.

The USPSA list has nothing to do with NRA Action Pistol. Contact Damien Orsinger and get a ruling. Personally I can't see a problem with it. It is a standard production model, not a custom shop model. As long as the trigger pull is within the rules. DOrsinger@nrahq.org -

Greg. I'll take your money at Bianchi -
Coatsey ..... You doin' Flagler ? Don't know yet Greg. We might stay in Columbia and have a day at the Green Valley Zoo.
-
Kyle We would fly in on Sunday night. Set up in Columbia, load ammo for 4-5 people and then drive to Michigan early Thursday morning. Practice Thursday evening and Friday; shoot the match on Saturday and Sunday. Practice on Monday and drive back to Columbia on Tuesday to register. In our "spare" time we still had time for 20oz margaritas, 16oz steaks and throwing peanut shells on the floor. I wonder how 'normal' people spend their weekends?
