  1. Kyle Michigan was up and running a couple of years before the Flagler match. I think the Flagler was put on for those that didn't want to travel 8-9 hrs and then travel the same back to Bianchi. The shooters asked Michigan to put on an AP match before the Cup as a warm up as at that time there was none. So they are not sandbagging. They have good entries with shooters from New Zealand,Australia,Canada and the NE USA. Oh! and some guy from Virginia called Kevin something or other
  2. May 21st Sunset Coastal Regional Michigan May 22nd Apple Blossom State Champs Michigan Both at Berrien Springs Sportsman Club Contact Marty Prillwitz : prillmb@gmail.com
  3. Sorry Al I typed it as slooooow as I could so you ole country boys could understand it. Coatesy
  4. Smallbore. 9000 = lead in inches at 25yds You only have to set it at 25. bullet speed Simple Coatesy
  5. CR Speed. Got three of them. Got to be adjusted right from get go. Make the lock stiff to operate. The lock working its way on is what stops the gun going all the way in and a droppy. BUT if you forget to take the lock off as DWFAN says you can still yank the gun out. You wont see much after because your eyes will be watering from the wedgey you just gave yourself
  6. As always Tom is straight to the point and shooting from the hip. Already booked the flights so I am committed for this year anyway. I normally have an entry form and invitation by now to start the paperwork but nothing as yet Could be a very interesting 2016 .
  7. I would say it will be in addition. Same as Texas Mover is an addition to the Mover and Mover Modified in the rule book.
  8. Smallbore. We already have matches with mag changes in the rule book.Combat Event and The Speedload Challenge. Both brilliant events that are not shot often enough. Alan Nothing vague about it. Same gun, same mags, same bullets, same holster and yes someone would protest and I bet it wouldn't be the "elite" either. They never watch us. Same courses of fire, same faces, same dinner, same problems, when will it ever end
  9. John Don't own a S&W 52 but do own a Browning Medallist International. A really sweet .22.
  10. Tim If the top Production and Metallic shooters don't take part in the shoot off they can't win the Bianchi Cup for their division. Sure, the overall will go to an open shooter, that is the nature of competition. The top score wins overall. As I said the Cup is different Divisions and Cups are awarded to the winners of each Division. Chris With the format change there is no Ironman anymore. I think the NRA has just created a new problem for themselves. Filling the seats at the dinner Here is a thought; how about the winner of the Cup is awarded to a different division every year. Start with Open, then next year Metallic and then Production and then back to Open and so on ad finitum.
  11. Do all 275 shooters go to the Cup with the expectation of winning it? If you are one of the Open shooters your odds are better. BUT lets face it ; The winner of the Cup is the shooter that posts the highest overall score; regardless of division. If we all thought we were going to win, 274 would be disappointed and probably 265 would be deluded. It is a graded shoot and it caters for all divisions. To win a Division or Grade is a real buzz. To finish in the top twenty overall and pick up a Division, Class or Grade win is a plus. It is your choice what Division you want to shoot in. Your grade is a measure of your ability.Division prizes go to 20th place in Open and Metallic and Fiftieth in Production. If Open is so easy we would see a lot more 1920's and the X's would be the decider. But we added the black center about 8 years ago to help the metallic shooters and everyone said it would make it too easy for Open shooters. That hasn't been the case in my observation. Let's see how this year pans out. It looks like the main match is the first part and what you win stands.Quote:"The prizes are locked in". The second part is for who gets the trophies. If you don't come and shoot it, you can't really criticize. It's like an election"If you don't vote, don't moan" I think, looking back on the format, that it might be fun. As we say in our parts. Lets suck it and see. Coatesy
  12. Every time I shoot the Cup I miss out on half of our Waterfowl Season; do you think the NRA will move the Cup two weeks later so I can do both. Yeah Right!
  13. I am shooting 38sc with a 115 zero. 4.8gns N320 at 1.245" 1150ft/sec. 132PF. Shoots flat and accurate. My load with AS30 is 125 lead coated CN over 3.8gns. @ 1.230" 1080ft/sec. Can go down to 3.6grns for my non comped gun.
  14. I get the same with N320. Has never been a problem. I thought it was my cases getting old and stiff and not enough pressure to expand in the chamber. Bit like me really Have been using AS30 (Clays) lately and has been as clean as a whistle.
  15. My understanding is that Anita would have the choice of shooting as top 16 or top lady. If she chooses top 16 then the 5th lady moves up to take her slot. If she shoots for top lady that leaves a slot in the top 16 and number 17 moves up. Simple really.
  16. Starline is right next door. So there goes a whole day.
  17. Kevin Get prepared to be bored. You can't be in the minority because the shooters don't know what is happening yet again. Until the Secret Squirrel HQ releases more details there will be a lot of guessing going on.
  18. Seniors do have a category. Top two Seniors and top two Super Seniors combined takes it to 36.
  19. If you are using Forster Bench Rest Dies read the instructions thoroughly as the set up is different to your normal rifle die. The neck is supported on the upstroke and if only the slightest bit out of adjustment it will rip the rim off. Adjusted correctly they turn out brilliant ammo.
  20. Read another version and it says "The Bianchi Cup, presented by Midway USA, will have a format change for 2016. Everyone will complete the normal 1920 aggregate. The top individuals will compete in a second Championship event to determine the Cup winners. This change will not affect anything won in the first aggregate and the only competitors affected are the top individuals. In addition the two gun aggregate and the Colt Speed Event have been eliminated to accommodate the new format. More will be published soon in this magazine for a better description". That was by Dennis Willing. Sorry if my first post was not 100% correct. I can only pass on what I see. It does not say who the "individuals" are or how many? It looks like a few get a second chance. Watch this space.
  21. The new format is outlined in the new Shooting Sports USA e-magazine. As suspected the Iron Man event has gone on the Tuesday and no Colt Speed Plates on Saturday. Top twenty to shoot off for the Cup. More details to come . I don't think I want to hear much more. Welcome to the TTT. Top Twenty Trophy.
