  1. Crap. I have an eotech 512 sitting on mine right now and I love it. Only has about 150 shells through the shotgun though and I'm heading up to hard as hell. Hate for it to die in a match. Guess I'll sight in an extra cmore and bring that too. Eotech even has a picture of a 512 on a shotgun on their site! Ugh!
  2. Which eotech died ?
  3. Was that the 1150 fps Fiocchi or the 1300 fps Fiocchi? I have 80 rounds of the 1300 FPS Fiocchi and I hope that they are going to work. Never heard of Freedom Slugs. Where did you get them?
  4. Nice! Keep us updated as you go through the break through! I'm interested in how slugs work for you and what works best. Congrats! Chris
  5. That is pretty similar to the stage that brought this discussion up. I would also point out that it isn't just "lazyness" that prevents putting up barrels or walls - sometimes that doesn't work with the stage. If you have targets closer together you really can't block the 180 without blocking the other targets before the 180 - the angles conflict.
  6. If you have a stage where you advance forward on targets in a line you are going to have a very difficult time blocking them all off. I agree, nothing is impossible, just improbable. If the targets are not parallel with the 180 you are very likely going to have them visible from some angle past 180 (unless EVERY target is behind a wall). Remember, No shoots are not walls - you can shoot over and under them.
  7. Agree. I do try to block targets and give a help to shooters when possible - no one wants someone to break the 180. However, there are stage designs that are fun and fair but don't really have a way to completely block off the target from beyond 180. To call those stages illegal I think is a real stretch of the rule book. Moreover, what if I miss something when building the stage and don't block a target far off from a place that I never thought to engage it? "Gaming" of stages takes place all the time proving that a stage designer is hard pressed to think of everything. As long as those holes are taken advantage of safely - great! But interpreting this rule so extremely means that hole I didn't see gets the stage thrown out as an illegal stage. That can have pretty dramatic consequences for the sport.
  8. Please understand, we are not talking just about "180 traps" but any stage where you could possibly see a shoot target from beyond the 180. Even if that target is easily identified as past 180 this interpretation would still rule a stage illegal if it were visible.
  9. Seems like once a target is beyond the 180 it is no longer available.
  10. Wouldn't 1.1.5 be subject to all the other rules in the book such as 10.5.2 or 10.5.17 or many others?
  11. Situation - member of our club took an RO class and learned in that class that any stage where you can see "brown" from beyond the 180 is "illegal". I asked for the rule and was cited "freestyle". I've never had anyone make this claim before and frankly it really doesn't make sense to me. That said, I'm not god and I don't know everything. Any thoughts on this?
  12. I have one and it is awesome. I don't remember how long it is right now but it fits my versamax with a +11. Great bag, very pricey. I had the midway prior to buying the Hogue and although the midway bag is a great bargain, the Hogue is a completely different level.
  13. I have two 2011 open guns and the dot does not leave the glass on either. At least not that I can perceive. They do little bounces up to the top 1/4 then come back to the place they started. I personally don't think "flat" is as important as consistent.
  14. I received an email that says the mark 7 price is going up in January. It's a tough sell at current price - even higher places it outside of any consideration for me.
  15. Can you elaborate? It certainly is way more expensive ...Bigger glass and brighter dot. I never had to change the battery on the doctor before I sold it so I can't remember if that was a problem or not. Very easy on the DP pro.
  16. I had a thunk that I could never solve - ended up just changing out the toolhead with another. Now I'll go back and check it for the small pin sticking. Thanks!
  17. I've shot both the Doctor and now a DeltaPoint pro. For me the Pro is significantly better. Ymmv.
  18. I use the no gap dawsons and have had no problems. My little brother ran my 9mm Trojan at the High Desert 100% with those mags. They do suck to unload but you can use the LULA and instead of adding rounds unload. works great.
  19. Pray tell Paul - what stages were illegal?
  20. I just put a DP Pro on a M&P Core. Had to very slightly mill the slide to fit it fully into the core slot but it tracks great and it is a really big window. Very nice setup.
  21. My experience as well. SVI does the steel grip very well. I have not handled any other - every one I've seen has been a SVI. Additionally, every magazine I've tried works with the SVI grip on my STI gun.
  22. 34 pants, 36 belt is perfect.
  23. Was able to play with everything tonight and it is pretty clear what needs to be milled. The slide is .05" too short on the front. Basically they made the pro slightly rounded in front instead of the flat front on the regular DeltaPoint. The rounded front is just enough to make it not fit. The plate needs about .15" off the plastic rear for the slightly longer dp pro to use the #2 plate - no big deal. I'm going to see if I can get a friend to mill the slide for me - I'll post pictures in a new thread when it's done.
  24. it's a great sight on a CORE. But you will have to mill the forward portion of the core opening to make it fit. the screw holes in the slide locate the the sight too far forward. You will also have to modify one of the mounting plates to fit the Delta point pro. One more thing, you will need longer screws to mount it to the slide, 6-32x3/4 should do it. Do you happen to have a picture of how you milled it and modified the mounting plate?
