  1. I can tell you definitively the stock Mecgar +2 (20 round) magazines DO NOT fit in the production box. And they are just a standard 226 tube with a longer base pad. FWIW.
  2. I'm a recovering sport biker. I currently ride a Vstrom as an all terrain commuter though. I have a set of Pelican cases mounted up as hard bags that suite my needs very well. The best part is they're waterproof, lockable, easily removable and will hold all my pistol gear without issue. I've ridden to a ton of local matches and to a handful of majors on it, and even with the additional ammunition for multi-days, it's good to go. I owned an F4i for a bunch of years and had a set of Technic soft bags on it that served the same purpose. Not as convenient (not lockable and not 100% waterproof) but it worked and beat having the weight on my back on longer rides. It's definitely doable.
  3. I think the P series guns are pretty darned shootable. And for that matter, so are the 320s. The two have pretty similar bore axis relationships. It's the Indian, not the arrow fellas. And I happen to quite like DA/SA pistols.

    229 sight help

Dawson's (my personal favorites) are out b/c of height compatability with the stock front. Heinie's are out b/c of height. Warrens are also out if you want the same height relationship. Ameriglo is a good bet to jive with your #8 (.160 tall) front. They make an all black #8 rear. Model shows as SG-402. Another option would be to get a stock #8 Sig sight. I have one kicking around somewhere and would send it to you gratis. I'm on the road (vacation) for another week though.
  5. Dawson Chargers are what I use. They have a variety of heights to get you zero'd.
  6. Except for the fact that a lot of major IDPA matches require membership and classification to participate.
  7. One advantage of having the RX come as a complete package optimized for an included scope is that you don't have to have adapter plates like the Glock models sport. Also, of course, the optic comes with the gun and is already mounted and co-witnessed, making a reddot option much more accessible. The mounting holes on the Romeo look pretty close to the Leopold ones and as long as it fit in the notch you might be able to have more holes drilled and tapped if necessary. Let's hope that the Romeo1 is good enough that people won't be compelled to find other options. Having the ability to use the slide with your choice of optics would make a lot more sense and is, IMO, one of the reasons the whole concept is gaining a bit more traction industry wide. Folks can buy an optic capable pistol for just a bit more $$$ than a standard slide and then dabble at their own leisure. It's pretty obvious the development of optics is going to continue. Having an adapter allows the owner to potentially keep up with that development if they choose to seems smart, rather than being 'stuck in the mud' with a single optic choice. Having the adapter system would also keep the RX pistol rolling regardless of the success of their in-house red dot solution. But that said, I'm all for hoping the Romeo is successful. t
  8. Is the RX model going to have mounting compatibility with other existing optics (DP Pro, RMR, Aimpoint, etc…) or only with the Romeo1? Seems like trying to sell the whole package, as opposed to an optic capable slide is in contrast to what's slowly becoming the industry norm.
  9. Does Berry's make a 125 grain bullet?
  10. Yep, agreed. I load a 124 grain plated Berry's flat point at 1.065 over 4.0 grains of Titegroup and it yields 130 PF consistently out of my 4.25" barrels.
  11. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/270949/shell-sorter-brass-sorter-380-acp-adapter-plate Adds a sorting step and doesn't catch every single one unless you're much more meticulous about the sorting process than I am. But it has greatly reduced my trouble with .380 cases getting into the mix.
  12. My example of one runs Winchester primers just fine. Required some fiddling/adjustment initially, but it runs darned near 100%. The RF100 is one of the best investments I've made in my reloading. Seems trite, but it has made life at the press soooooo much more seamless. Big fan here...
  13. I've done a number with a dremel to good effect. Just take your time. The hand guard type you're going with is going to be the determining factor in how small the profile will need to be. You can use a high heat paint (like for a barbecue grill) to finish them also.
  14. The 2022 is 1.4" wide which is 35.56 mm. It would appear to be a no go due to width.
  15. The rules are the rules. The only issue I have is the subjectivity inherent and the fact that it's questionable (based on experience) how consistently they can be enforced.
  16. Those are good points, Sir. I get it. Just figured I'd add the perspective. I suppose I just wish I saw more direct skill transfer between the two activities. I find myself exerting more effort than is ideal trying to keep my (minor) pistols cycling as flat as possible. The comments about little girls shooting 9mm flat in high heels hurt my feelers. t
  17. The interesting thing about rock climbing is that it's a lot more dependent on technique and on contact strength than it is "grip" strength per se. Obviously both are pretty beneficial but it's possible to climb at quite a high level without boatloads of "squeezing" power. I've bouldered V7/V8 and red pointed well into the 5.13 range and I can only manage single reps of a #2 COC and only with my "strong hand". FWIW.

    Sig P320

I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the new stainless grip module! :-D
  20. Downloaded the IOS version to try. Thanks. And +1 to the embedded HF calculator. That'd be handy! t
  21. Top Gun Supply usually stocks them but they're out currently it would appear. http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-extractor-p220-stainless-slide-and-x-five.html I'd probably go direct to Sig about sourcing one. Grayguns sells a product improved version, but it requires in-house fitting and is therefore quite expensive and likely pretty time consuming. http://grayguns.com/gunsmith-services/sig-sauer-pistols/sig-sauer-p-220-x-5-internal-extractor/ t
  22. I broke an E clip mid loading session last year and didn't have a spare. After digging around a bit, I found that the primer tube clips will fit in a pinch. I finished the session and then left it there as a test. It's still there (the same one) 10,000+ cycles later. Appears to plenty durable, (perhaps more so than the original) with no ill effects. (Shrug)
