  1. You live a mile from the range Popo and every time I call you you're at it. "Fair" amount? Sandbagger.............
  2. Lol, That's funny. And carrying a 1911 in condition one is unsafe too. And that platform has been around 100 years. Some will never learn.
  3. Markco, I hear what you are saying. All valid points. I will agree a great shooter will get it done with any tool, Glock or otherwise. Abandonment having an effect on gun selection is a tough one for me to swallow. I guess if I do it at a major I'll be eating my words but until then I'll work the safety. I use a M&P for 3 gun sometimes and it is nice to be able to dump it and go. I just don't think that I could do it in open which is my primary division. Again, to each his own. Glocks are great guns, just not my first choice for competition.
  4. Just my opinion but downgrading, yes downgrading, from a 2011 to a Glock just for abandonment is not a very good reason. I've watched shooters at major matches unload a gun instead of putting the safety on, seems a little overly cautious. Its a safety and its there for a reason, train and use it. If your safety comes off how hard are you throwing your gun? No doubt, to each his own but not for this guy. Glocks are great for lots of things but I'm just not buying the abandonment argument.
  5. Nope, flat wire ISMI. I might try the 13 pound spring before I give up.
  6. I have a 9mm Pro. Bought a SS guide rod for it and a 15 pound ISMI spring. The gun hated it, three malfunctions on the first mag. I'm shooting a 124 grain MG JHP over 4 grains of TG at 140 PF. Put the stock 16 pound spring in and it runs like a top. Thoughts?
  7. I have a LWRC which is a little different than a Adams Arms but I have my hand at the end of a 12.37" Samson, usually right over the gas block. I get black marks on my hand from gas and fouling but have never been burned. The dangerous hot gases hit the piston and what I'm getting is the residual. Your mileage may vary.
  8. A good shooter can make anything run well. However, if your pockets are deep enough, there is only one. Swarovski z6i with a BRT reticle.
  9. Its a matter of weight. The light piston will handle loads up to 1.5 ounces. The heavier piston for everything else. A reduced recoil slug is usually one ounce. I've ran the light piston only without issue. All of this is in the owners manual.
  10. Buy whatever points more naturally for you and shoot it for a year. At this point you don't know what you don't know so to speak. After a season you'll gained the experience to at least have a better idea of what you want. I would at least stick to the 5" guns though. They are more suited for the game due to their longer sight radius. As Merlin said once you master your Kung Fu grip you wont really notice "muzzle flip" and probably just notice how fast your sights do or do not recover. Keep them stock, shoot the snot out of the them and then chop cut and change to your hearts content. Nothing will make you not want to shoot more than a gun that doesn't run. I prefer the M&P but that's just personal preference. I shot mine for awhile before I made any changes. That's the advice I was given and it's worked great for me. Good luck.
  11. So I shot my Pro with the FSS and trigger kit over the summer. I have just recently added a competition spring kit to it and I think I'm stopping there. There seems to be very little take up if at all now. The only stock spring I have left in the gun is the striker spring. Runs like a raped ape.
  12. I was in NYC a few months after the attacks. There was a walk way built to overlook ground zero. On that walkway was a list of all of those killed. While standing there I watched a little girl with her mother hunt for her fathers name. When she found it she pulled out her crayon and wrote "love you daddy" next to it. Some things stay with you. Since then I have buried more friends than I care to talk about and spent years away from those that I love. It has all been worth it. To those that have perished, you have been and will continue to be avenged and I shall never forget.
  13. Good points, thanks. Its a no brainer.
  14. C-rums lists with and without a slot once he's done. Is there a purpose for the slot or is it just for a certain look.
  15. Nordic 18 round pmag extension, trouble free for two seasons.
  16. You know I understand its not in everyones price range, it nearly wasn't for mine. But, this scope continues to impress. I shot our last big match for the season this weekend. On it we had 8" or 10" flasher, I forget which, at 300 yards. I get down to take a sight picture, complete overcast and rainy and think this looks pretty good. Clarity is right on and I can see everything. Then I notice I'm on 3x magnification and crank it up to 6x. It was like cheating. Another stage was like a 20 or 22 paper hoser with the rifle. 1x, daylight bright illumination just like a reflex sight. Worth every penny, it continues to impress.
  17. I just shot in a shoot off with a pair of S&W AR-15 22s and they worked flawless. Now, that being said, its a different feel. The whole package is much lighter than a dedicated 22 upper on your regular lower. My first run on the biathlon rack I over swung my transition pretty bad and I had a really firm grip on the rifle. Once I lightened up a little it felt different than shooting my AR but was an absolute blast. Best platform for 3 gun training, maybe not but a ton of fun.
  18. It was probably because of the new rail grabbers, lol.
  19. Hands down the best gun in that price range would be a Springfield TRP or a lightly used Les Baer.
  20. Same here, about 6 weeks to come in but a great built product. I've went from a 8-8.5 second reload from the belt to about 6.5 within the first dozen or so reloads. I'll easily be sub 6 with this setup.
  21. It depends on the game. If I were only shooting Steel Challenge I would run a 15 yard zero. For Multi Gun I run a 25 yard zero. For USPSA I have ran both and both work fine but I have stuck to 25 yards, for me it has worked best for everything.
  22. You may want to consider getting a new barrel in 9. That way you could shoot 9 major if you want to but with a spring change you could shoot minor as well. Then you would just have to worried a out being zeroed but still not that bad of an idea.
  23. I guess my biggest question is why would you want to do this. When you reload the difference between the two calibers is about $1.50 a box give or take. Some are lost brass matches but not all of them. 38 gives you so many better options in powder, bullet and accuracy. It doesn't stop there, I even shoot major PF loads for three fun. It has more horsepower for steel, less drop at distance and since you're shooting one load for everything your timing isn't effected. Not to mention 38 in a 2011 is more reliable than a 9 can be. Could you, yeah. Should you, probably not.
  24. If you really like your 124s try a MG 124 with about 8.0 grains of IMR 4756 and work your way up from there. OAL at 1.245. 4756 is also about $10 cheaper a pound where I live, is slow burning and fairly clean.
