  1. She aint pretty, but she gets the job done.
  2. I have the same problem, and I did wine to Dillon. They told me to radius the corner of the shell plate with a dremel. They told me that sometimes the shell just sticks in "deeper" and when it hits the ejector wire funny it gets pushed in instead of sliding accross the edge. I have yet to make the fix. Hope this helps, and I will keep an eye on the post to see if there are any other ideas before I go grinding away.
  3. Possible silly questions, but what new mags? Are these new factory mags, and if so does that mean there might be some new 15 round .40's?
  4. For me it's almost the same as MCB. Except I started in production with a Beretta 92, then stepped up to the big leagues with a custom STI, I shot a few matches in Limited to get used to the gun, but I missed the reloading of Production. So as of right now I download the tubes, and shoot L10. When my Single Stack gets built, I'll switch over to the provisional SS division and leave the STI for Limited. I figure if I pay my range fee for the match, I might as well get my monies worth and reload alot more heck I even manage to shoot some extra white targets that others don't Matt
  5. Dimes to dollars, it's a SPS frame with a STI slide. Just my $.02
  6. What brand of : Hammer Sear Disconnector would work well out of the respective boxes with "no" stoning, polishing, (monkeying with ) for a 2-2.5 lb trigger pull. I heard the Koenig hammers, and STI S7 Sears work well out of the box. Any others? Thanks.
  7. Don't bite my head off, but make sure that you shoot one or two before you purchase one. You would think that a pistol that big and heavy would be a soft shooter, but from my experience it kicked like a mule. Before you think I am crazy, let me tell you what I did. I shot (5) pistols back to back to decide on which one I liked better. The same handloaded (169PF) ammo was used for each pistol as a baseline. Custom 6" STI (Not fat free) Custom 5" STI (Standard Dustcover) Custom 5" STI (Edge like) Brazo's BCP Pro CZ IPSC Standard In order of most felt/perceived recoil first to softest felt/perceived recoil. Brazo's CZ STI Standard STI Edge STI 6" I felt the Brazo's the and CZ were very similar in felt recoil (Alot), although the Brazo's felt faster on transistions and better in the hand. The edge and the Standard Dustcover felt very similar (softer), and the 6" was felt just like a (.22) although it was heavy and slow. I know (4) guys at my club that shoot the CZ and love it, moral of the story, shoot one before you buy if you can to see if you do like it. (2) of the (4) guys have since sold the CZ to go the STI route because of the recoil issue.
  8. I suppose that the need for a an ambi safety for a righty is alot different than for a lefty. Me being a lefty I have found that I actually have the other problem. I have never broke a saftey. But since I am a lefty, the left side paddle (single sided saftey) was riding on my knuckle. Since I don't use that side, I broke out the trusty dremel and ground the thing near off. There's a small ledge, but only 1/8" or so.
  9. I just picked up a new (to me) XD Tactical in .40 with the canyon creek 2lb trigger work. I was wondering what recoil spring I should use for this. I am going to be playing in both production, and L10 with the toy and know I will need (2) different springs one for each division, as my load for production is minor, and L10 is major. Any ideas for a soft flat shooting spring? My loads are these: 180 Grain MasterBlaster Moly Coats 3.6 Grains VV320 for Minor 4.5 Grains VV320 for Major Federal Small Pistol Primers LE once fired brass Thanks
  10. I have a new slide for my Single Stack gun that has a Heine Front cut. I want a F/O sight like my limited gun, but I can only find that Caspian makes a F/O sight with the heine cut. Anybody else make one (Brazo's, Dawson, EGW, etc.) Thanks for your help.
  11. I have a Dawson on Limited gun, not a problem in over 7k rounds, still bright, and right where I put it. Not trying to hijack the thread, who makes a Fiberoptic front sight that fits a Heine front cut, besides Caspian? Or is the Heine cut the same as the Para, or STI/SV?
  12. MCB, That looks great. I am actually thinking of getting a XD myslef, and have often wondered about the mags. I mean how can a Beretta, Walther, or Sig hold only (12) rounds of .40, while a G22 (same size as all the bove from appearances) hold (15). If youi do make some mag pads that increase capacity to (14), or (15), let me know, I might like to buy some from you. Here are the Inner Diameters of: Walther P-99: .7355 STI: (Aprroxinately) .826 My calipers won't reach the both inner ribs, but it reaches one, and I subtracted that length from the total figure. Hope this helps. Matt
  13. I was talking to some guys at the range, and they say they shoot their guns until the buff disingrates. That does not sound like a good idea to me. How do you know when to change out the buff? Mine looks the same as it did when I got the pistol about 6k rounds ago. Any ideas? Thanks.
  14. I like green just like my lucky charms.
  15. Thanks for the info, I think I'll just use the money I was going to spend on a new barrel on Lead , and get that much more practice. When I wear out the Glock barrel then I'll look into the aftermarket.
  16. Do you know if there are any US distributors for this company. It looks like a very nice pistol.
  17. I see that everyone uses KKM, Barsto, or Wilson Combat barrels in their Glocks to shoot lead. Are they worth the extra money over a Storm Lake?
  18. I just picked up a G22 and it has the stock barrel in it. I have heard not to shoot lead thorugh Glock barells. However I have seen several shooters at my range use Glocks and MasterBlaster Moly-coats. Now I don't know if they have stock barells or not. My question is, will shooting Moly-coats through a stock barell cause a problem, or be dangerous? Or am I a paranoid? Matt
  19. Hi, I just picked up a G35 and need a minor load to shoot production. The load and components I have been uisng for my STI are these: Master Blaster 180's Federal Primers Vhit 320 (4.5 Grains), Ramshot Competition (4.5 Grains), Ramshot Silouette. Once Fired Brass. OAL: 1.200 What I would like to hear from you guys is a nice soft minor load to use in the Glock that use at least one of the powders listed above, as I have it coming out of my ears and would like to use it up. Thanks for your help guys. BTW, what OAL should I load to for a glock (does it make a difference for a 22, or a 35?), and what weight recoil spring is in the gun that is used in the loads offered. Thanks. Matt
  20. These are the (2) screw-ups I had and now have learned from them. 1) Being a lefty watch for stage design "traps" In one particular stage at my range you started facing down range, after engaging a few targets, you needed to move around a large wall. Obviously this was a good time to reload, as you are moving, however when I turned right to go around the wall (about 160 degrees) I turned my hand to hit the mag release and drop the mag, when doing so my gun passed the 180 and the RO stopped me. Had I been right handed, or waited until after I passed the wall this would not have happened. Lesson Learned. 2) Don't get in your head that you need to move to fast. Again I engaged a set of targets to the left close to the 180 from the start postion. When moving to the next array, while in mid run, I noticed I missed a shot on one of the targets, split second reaction was take the make up shot, which I did but my movement towards the next array had moved me past the 180. Now both of these situations could have been avoided, (Obviously no one else had problems with them) but just be sure that if there is a 180 issue on the course of fire at any time, be very aware of "your" location to the targets, and the 180. Everybody screws up, trick is to learn from it and not do it again.
  21. Can someone reccomend a good 1911 smith in Western WA State. Thanks.
  22. Make sure that if you use the 147's in a Beretta you tell tom. I know that when he first started with the 9mm's he found that the chamber on Beretta's are slightly larger than other pistols especially glocks. I think it is beacuse of the "slide failures" often talked about with Beretta, but rarely if ever seen except on the internet. It took us (3) batches of different sized bullets to get the keyholing to stop. I think if you tell tom you shoot a beretta he may be able to special size some bullets to a .356 or even .357 to fix the problem. Thats what we ended up doing before I sold the beretta.
  23. Personally I liked the muzzle flashes, and the gangsta grip by both white guys. Yep I think my Highschool drama teacher would have given them a B-.
  24. Thanks for the info guys, looks like I may be just a bit paranoid about kb's. I guess you hear about the problems more than the "success" stories.
