    Glock 17 EXO

LOL Wait, what? You re-oil your standard finish Glocks after every 100 rounds? Tell me I misread that... Back on topic, I have never seen this finish on a Glock. Looks ok, wouldnt buy one myself as I prefer the "all black" but it sounds like its durable anyway...
  2. Glock 34 for Production. 4.2gn N320 @ 1.140" Very nice load.
  3. I am still pretty new to all this myself but I will give you my thoughts on bullet weight... I initially shot only 115gn...Found them to be fairly inaccurate and had trouble knocking down long distance poppers. I then moved to 147gn. Better accuracy, more knock down (IMO) and easily makes power factor with a soft shooting load. However, I found the gun to run "slow"...Like it took awhile for the sights to settle back down. Recoil was almost non existent but the gun was sluggish. Tried a few different powders, really didnt help much... Finally, I switched to 124gn with N320 and couldnt be happier. Easily knocks down steel, accuracy is superb and the gun is less snappy than the 115 but very quick to return to battery. Sight tracks up and down so its easy to follow which makes for faster follow up shots. I use the same load for everything, helps me keep the timing down on the gun. Just my observations, your mileage may vary...
  4. In case you arent familiar, you need to reach a power factor of 125 to be "minor"...Probably want to shoot for something like 132-134 just to be safe. (Bullet weight x velocity) / 1000 = power factor
  5. My G34 misses all kinds of stuff I "aim" at just fine as it is, thank you LOL
  6. I mean, to me, its WAY over priced...But its a good looking gun and I am sure it shoots good (though I would bet you could get the same from a drop in bbl and trigger kit). But If you someone has the money and wants it, hey, go for it lol
  7. Yea, that was a Salient, probably a "Tier 1" model. Looking at around $2500...for a Glock...Don't get me wrong, I love Glocks but man I could buy like 5 for that price LOL Still a very cool gun!
  8. Yea, I got a good laugh out of one of the red team guys when he said that...They apparently have NO idea what USPSA shooting is or what it means to be a GM level shooter... Good job Cliff!
  9. They HAVE been looking a little limp lately ... LOL
  10. I think it may be the chrono...I have used this same jug to load 147gn Zero's and they were VERY consistent. I have to ask the stupid question though, whats the point in marking them with a sharpie? lol So the bullets contrast more against the screen. Learn something everyday...
  11. I think it may be the chrono...I have used this same jug to load 147gn Zero's and they were VERY consistent. I have to ask the stupid question though, whats the point in marking them with a sharpie? lol
  12. How sensitive to temp is N320? I am running 4.2gn of N320 over a MG 124JHP @ 1.140" in a G34. I chrono'ed that load yesterday (temp was around 92, heat index was over 100) and 10 shot average PF was 128 for the first 10, 129 for the 2nd and 129 for the 3rd group. That seems low to me. I saw velocities as low as 1007 fps and as high as 1055. I expected that load to be in the 130-132PF out of the G34.
  13. I own both a LnL and a 650 and here is my 2 cents... The LnL I bought first (less than a year ago), thinking I didnt need the more expensive 650 to meet my needs. Turns out, I was right and wrong. If the LnL would run 100% all the time, it would be a decent press for the casual shooter and maybe be an ok, cheaper substitute for someone not looking to spend 650 money. However, from day 1, it had issues. Most all of those revolved around the priming system. Hornady's customer service is excellent and after numerous calls to them and many new parts being shipped out, it was still not able to run more than about 50-75 rounds without a stoppage. I dont have a lot of free time to sit and mess with the thing so this just wasn't acceptable. I basically decided if I was going to be serious about reloading, I needed a far more robust and capable piece of hardware so I got the 650 a few months ago and never looked back...It is night and day compared to the Hornady in build quality, reliability and overall useability. I cant comment on rounds per hour of the two as the Hornady has never ran for a solid hour...but the 650 EASILY gets 500+ with the case feeder. Now, I still have the LnL. I set it up for .45ACP as I dont shoot that in matches, just for fun, so I probably only load 100-200 rounds of it a month...If that. The 650 is set up for 9mm and gets used twice a week for some all-out loading sessions and never misses a beat. Anyway, hope that helps.
  14. For $700 at Bud's you can get a Kimber Custom II. I bought one earlier this year and it has been flawless. With a few basic mods, I am sure it would be just fine for SS.
  15. I have had several Crossbreeds and they are ok...The kydex can be a little uncomfortable at times depending on what you are doing. I recently got a new holster for my full size 1911 from Adam's Holsters. This thing is amazing...Very comfortable and it makes the 5" gun disappear. Luke is a super nice guy and makes a great product. Here is a pic of mine...
  16. Looks awesome man! Let us know how it shoots
  17. The internals are pretty much identical. The "options" are what adds to the price, things like front strap checkering, sights, rail, etc. I have a Custom II and it shoots, feels like the higher end models but at 2/3's the price
  18. I use this in my stock G34 for USPSA...Very accurate and soft shooting. A little "hot" considering the minimum PF is only 125 for Production but it provides plenty of power to knock down steel poppers. Never shot those spinners though. COL: 1.140 Powder Charge: 3.6 N320 Bullet: 147gn Zero JHP or 147 MG FMJ Primer: WSP Velocity: ~940 Power Factor: 138 Another load I use when I cant get N320...Using AA#7 powder (VERY similar results to N320, just not as clean) COL: 1.140 Powder Charge: 6.2gn AA#7 Bullet: 147gn Zero JHP or 147 MG FMJ Primer: WSP Velocity: ~930 Power Factor: 136
  19. Good looking car man! Love the Synergy Green. My wife would kill for that thing lol I told her she could have one if she got rid of her Goat but she promptly told me it was not going anywhere hehe Might want to skip the Slowmasters though...Lots of better options for those cars. While you are getting a cat back, dont forget the ARH headers, cam and supercharger...
  20. If you need something versatile, maybe look at a Winchester SX2 or SX3. They are internally the same as the FNH shotty's many use for 3 gun so you should be able to mod it if you like. They are very good guns and, in a 28" bbl, should be excellent for clays.
  21. I am pretty new to all of this myself so take my advice with a grain of salt For me, having several years experience in Krav Maga, the fighting stance we learned works well for shooting...It may not be 100% correct compared to a training manual or something but it is comfortable, well balanced and I am already familiar with how to "move" from this position. From reading Brian's book (not finished with it yet), he seems to imply the best stance is the one you work well in. You dont need to be in this perfect form stance all the time but simply find your "index" and then through practice develop a stance which works for you.
  22. I also load 9mm on a Dillon and have never noticed the "dust" in the chamber/action after shooting but I do see it in my loaded rounds bin. I initially thought I had a problem with the dies potentially damaging the brass but the rounds look/feed/shoot perfectly in my G17 and G34 so I dont worry myself with it. This is on a brand new XL650 with new dillon 9mm dies, btw.
  23. They do work with the 650...when the bullet feeder itself actually works. I have found that the bullet feeding die seems to be made in a way that the case must be PERFECTLY centered in it to fit inside. If the case is the least bit off, then it will hit the edge of the feeder die and lock up the press. This happens 1 out of every 5 cases or so, in my case. Hornady seems to think my press is the issue...It's a brand new 650...Dont think so. To verify that, I used it on my Hornady LnL AP press, same issue. Poor design, IMO.
  24. I will be there! Probably not ready to switch to Limited yet...Still need some time to sort out the new gat Tess seems to really like that STI. I think she is going to take to it quite well. Thanks, I knew they had been holding matches there but it seems work never lets me get a chance to come by. I will eventually, though. Thanks Mike!
