  1. 2.3.1.1 deals with limiting competitor movement. In b even addresses vision barrier which is what was needed for the situation. It was a fault in the stage layout that was not caught until the course of fire had already been shot. If the shooter just shot over it creating the issue, stop them. Declare the forbidden action and have them reshoot. If they announce that was their plan, I would advise them of my intentions as a RO that I will stop them a declare the FA. If no one else has shot over it, why not put up the vision barrier? What shooter will be affected by that?
  2. 3.2.6 In the event that a competitor action contravenes the course requirements, and that action creates a safety issue, the Range Master must be immediately summoned for a ruling. The Range Master may rule that the action is allowed and the competitors score will stand. Alternatively, the Range Master may require modifications to the course of fire, and/or may declare that the action is forbidden for safety reasons. (See Rule 2.3, including subsections) 3.2.6.1 Following the declaration of a Forbidden Action, the shooter(s) whose action(s) resulted in such a declaration shall be required to reshoot the course of fire. Subsequent violations by any competitor will result in a disqualification. I would think the rule reads pretty clear. A competitor action has to create the safety issue.
  3. Distances were at 9yds and 40yds. String 1: engage any array freestyle and any array SHO. Mandatory reload between arrays. String 2: engage remaining array WHO.
  4. I have a pretty good bell. I have loaded thousands of rounds with this setup. The wet tumbled brass just seems to grab the bullet something serious.
  5. I'm having an issue with the coating being stripped from the bullet when loading into wet tumbled extra clean cases. Running bayou 180 gn tc. Loading on a 650. U die in station one, Redding competition seat die. I have loaded many many of these before without a problem. I just got into a batch of brass I bought that is extra clean and the problem is horrible. One shot doesn't help at all. I tried running the brass through my tumbler for a short while, no improvement. Any ideas?
  6. I look at setting up classifiers like framing. You shoot for 100% but will accept 95%. The longer and more varied the distances, the more distortion you will have. Everything lays out perfect on a computer drawing, always a discrepancy when it hits the ground. 24" between centers and a target leans an inch in the breeze. No big deal. We pull centerline and set pins to drop left and right offsets. Are they perfect? No. Are they as close as should be expected? Yes. We aren't building a piano. Some variation should be expected. Very close should be the goal.
  7. In a course of fire, if the gun is under the influence of gravity alone, it is dropped. Trapped or not is still a dq. Outside of a course of fire, trapping a dropped gun to your body should not matter. It is a very natural reaction to "catch" something that you feel is falling from your control. It is natural to reach for something that is falling from you. Dropped eyewear, hear pro, etc. A basket catch for a falling gun should be a no, but an instinctive pinch to the thigh with your forearm should not result in a dq.
  8. Just curious as I want to build out a SS to run the same ammo as my lim setup. I have 9 and .45 SS guns. My understanding is 9 and 40 can use same ejector. A 9 frame is already cut for the ramp. I'm sure I am missing something.
  9. I contacted Deb at Springfield Armory's custom shop and she said we'd be looking at a whole new top end at a cost of around $1,200.00 to $1,300.00. Kinda kicks in the teeth on a budget shooter.why would it require a new top end?
  10. What does it take to convert a RO 9 into a 40? New barrel, bushing, and link. Extractor. Breach face recut. What else?
  11. Well Chris, Danny and Steve do wear kilts at the match. After what I told Steve and Danny, I don't think Danny will ever wear a kilt again...... Lmao!
  12. Dawson ice for sure. Fits the box and is like throwing your mag at a 5 gal bucket.
  13. With a 200gn LSWC .45, I run .2 more in the summer time to keep pf the same as the cooler months. Keeps me the same in 100deg as I do at 75.
  14. The 10rd mags from Dawson are awesome. I have run lots through mine without a single hiccup.
  15. 5.0 wst behind a 180 bayou gets 172. Feels real nice.
  16. ICORE can specify shot order and target engagement order. Targets in the same COF may require different numbers of hits on them. If the way you shot the stage violated the WSB, it should have be procedural(s) issued. Giving mikes on a target that had scoring holes is a bunch of crap. As to your original question, ICORE is similar to USPSA but much more accuracy oriented.
  17. My dawson mags are a real pain to unload by hand as well. However, they don't affect the operation of the gun at all. Never had a single reliability issue.
  18. Running bayou 160's in starline long colt. Does anyone have a load using WST? Thanks, Chris
  19. Here we go again. September 13 at Magnolia in Byram, MS. We are gonna run 8 stages and have 200+ round count. Grab the wheelie and come out to play. https://clubs.practiscore.com/2014-icore-southern-regional-revolver-championship/register
  20. I believe it means that scale tolerance is +/- .2 oz. So that would mean that .2 over is good. If my gun failed within that .2, I would play this. That being said, I have 3 SS comp guns and the heaviest is .7 under. On the mark or betting on tolerance is way too close for comfort.
  21. 3. For the duration of the match, a scale is considered to be in tolerance if a. the scale is able to maintain a weight display stability of +/- 0.1 grain (0.2 ounces in the case of a handgun scale)over a 15 second period, and b. the scale is able to repeat the results of the recorded weights in Item 22 within +/- 0.1 grain, 0.2 ounces in the case of a handgun scale.
  22. Appendix C2 line 23. Handgun .2 over is legal.
  23. I prefer the max traps to the clam shells. Also plan for a couple of swingers. You will also want activation methods for some of these. Stomp boxes or cabling systems. A polish plate rack is nice as well. With the activation systems, you should have multiple length cables with routing options and make all the attachment points universal so you can use the same setups.
