  1. Just remember that it's all supposed to be fun, after all, a bad day of shooting is better than a good day of doing almost anything else!
  2. Stilling my mind, by body, and making a small hole appear in the paper where it is supposed to.
  3. Might have figured this out, but not certain. Please define, thanks!
  4. Matt - quite amazing! Might he answer - How much range time? How much daily dry fire? How much exercise? How may weekly rounds? How many club and regional matches? Any time left in week for quality family time?
  5. There are only two things to fear: Someone may not give us something we need. Someone may take something we have. Seems somehow unfair to have something stolen but remember . . . you still have your health!
  6. Thanks Vince, as usual, you hit the nail on the head. Further, is it safe to assume that all club sanctioned matches held in the USA are done under USPSA Appendix E - US Division Rules, and not international IPSC Rules, and therefore shooting the Glock 34 in Production Division would be allowed? If so, I think I've finally got it!
  7. Have been shooting my absolutely stock, out of the box, except for skateboard tape on the grip Glock 34 in IDPA SSP as SS. I know this has been written about previously, but still see and find extremely contradictory info on the subject. I joined IPSC and would like to shoot the Glock 34 in a local club IPSC match. In what division would I be able to shoot the Glock? The rules seem to indicate that a 5" barrel is verboten in Production, and yet Front Sight seems to list the 34 as approved for production. Please, somebody, stop my head from spinning. Thanks!
  8. Would like to shoot my Kimber Compact Custom in Standard Division for IPSC. I can't find the specs on the Kimber site of their OEM magwell. Does anyone know if it fits in the box, or if any other type or brand would work better?
  9. Thanks Vince, I'll give that a try!

  12. No doubt about it! That book with Matt Burkett's DVD's or videos will give you the best start you can have without hiring a real life personal training coach. BE will give you the mental game and Matt will drill the techniques. Get the book, be the book! Check this website. Good luck!
  13. Most recent AP story says she might just get ONE YEAR, possibly at a half way house or even under house arrest. Her total take on the deal was about $51k.
  14. I am agonizing over whether to buy the Mark IV or the Pact II. I do not presently need the chronograph function and probably won't for a couple of years. I was curious if both are good for dry fire practice, as I thought it took an actual shot to activate the timing mechanism. Personally, I prefer the smaller size of the Pact II. Any advice?
  15. Besides the plethora of Annuals and pretty covers, which handgunning magazines have the best real world competitive shooting coverage and tips?
  16. Ordered a holster on about January 15th after a couple of emails back and forth. Website clearly suggests calling regarding status. I did and found David helpful as I needed holster for March 11 qualifier. Promised he would send it out last Monday, and I received it today. Beautiful, fast, and a piece of quality workmanship. Quality often takes time, and I felt this was worth waiting for. I would and will order again!
  17. Thanks, you guys hit the nail on the head. I installed an extended slide release and the spring was faulty. Replaced with the original, good as new. Thanks again!
  18. After thousands of rounds, my carry Glock 26 fired one round, then went into full slide lock and could be dropped using installed extended slide release, but was necessary for each round of the magazine. Any ideas what the problem could be?
  19. There is no mention of mandatory wearing of a vest in the IDPA rulebook, however there is this one line about, "Not drawing from concealment as required". I assume this is the reason why vests are recommended? Procedural Errors (3 second penalty) 1. First "finger in trigger guard" violation, as long as it wasn’t dangerous. 2. Not using cover properly (50% of torso/head must be behind cover) 3. Not reloading as required 4. Not shooting while moving as required 5. Not drawing from concealment as required 6. Not following other COF rules as required
  20. Shooting in my first IDPA qualifier shortly. Have watched several videos that refer to IDPA rule regarding wearing shooting vest to simulate concealed carry situation. However, do not see anything in rule book that mandates wearing of vest while shooting. Will I be able to shoot the qualifier without it or is it time to order one?
  21. Having a real problem focusing on the front iron sight with my standard graduated lens glasses. Also, at my local club, bullet splash is a concern because standard polycarbonate eye glasses don't provide large surface coverage. Has anyone had success in ordering custom made prescription safety glasses with good sweet spot magnification that can still be worn walking around the range?
  22. Still sounds like too much finger on the trigger. Also, I believe under IPSC rules you can change out the trigger as long as it is OEM. Glocks can come with either a "target" trigger or a "smooth" trigger. If you are shooting with the target trigger, it has ridges next to the safety that let you get too much finger wrap and therefore pull to the right at the break. Maybe try the smooth trigger, a $13.95 fix.
