  1. Instructions say "the excess portion of the Holster Body can be cut off to prevent snagging on range equipment". Not being particularily mechanically or hobby craft inclined, exactly what is the best way and tools necessary to do this. Would think hobby saw and sand paper could do the job. Please help, Thanks!
  2. And I thought it was going to be something like a "Texas Star"!
  3. Always a great match with challenging stages. Go to www.matchreg.com, right side of page to see list of match sponsors and donors. Five gun raffle with much other stuff on prize table.
  4. The NSSF - National Shooting Sports Foundation has a lot of info on their website www.nssf.org and is part of the NASR National Assoc. of Shooting Ranges.
  5. Love my Ken Kershaw Blur. Feel of grip and balance great! Available in straight, serrated, or Tanto. Also, needed to replace pocket clip and customer service was unbelievable. Lists for about $100, but can be had if you search for about $65. Would buy again and again.

  7. Frankly, I never got the name of the RO that issued the DQ. He ran me while another individual "Rasta Rocket" backed him up. My issue from the onset was the call and rule, not the RO issuing the DQ. But, it is interesting that the Level III Match rules state: Minimum one Certified NROI official per stage I have no idea if this requirement was met. Also, I decided immediately not to arbitrate, but to accept the expertise of the RO, who I assumed was NROI Certified, as I am.
  8. Thank you all for your comments. It was indeed stage 6, I had just done a reload and the RO confirmed that my finger was not in the triggerguard during the reload and that he was behind me on my right when making the call, but as I moved the gun up, back into my field of vision, taking a couple of steps to engage targets to my right in the free fire zone, I was stopped. As this was a safety issue, do not believe it could be arbitrated, and frankly as an RO, I would not want an RO's called removed just because the shooter made some noise about a bad call. In hindsight, cannot imagine how any top shooter is not DQ'd while engaging target arrays while moving.
  9. If I misquoted or incorrectly paraphrased my conversation with Dan, I am very sorry.
  10. I had the pleasure (really) of shooting in the Area 7 Championship at Harvard, MA on Saturday and incurred my first match DQ in five years. I was shooting a Glock 34 in Production and was in a free fire zone moving towards paper and steel targets. I was told to stop after my reload and taking a couple of steps. When I questioned why I was stopped, unloaded and cleared my gun, I was told I was being DQ'd for having my finger in the triggerguard. I asked if I had it in during the reload, was told "no", but I had taken a couple of steps with my finger in the triggerguard. I disagreed that my finger was actually within the triggerguard (small hands and short fingers). I discussed the DQ with the Match Director and was told that he probably would not have called it as such, but must take the word of the RO over the shooter, as a RO myself in both USPSA and IDPA I fully understand this. When I reviewed the rule, I realized that I have never heard it called on any competitor in a free fire zone as targets abound, and have certainly not ever heard of anyone being DQ's for failing to re-engage a safety while moving (not an issue in this case). Movement is defined in the rules as taking one step in any direction. Movement 8.5.1 Except when the competitor is actually aiming or shooting at targets, all movement (see Appendix A3) must be accomplished with the fingers visibly outside the trigger guard and the safety should be engaged. The handgun must be pointed in a safe direction. I genuinely accepted the DQ without much drama, but I am now questioning whether it really was a good call or not. In any event I will take the DQ as instruction that I should be more careful in the future. Any thoughts?
  11. As 48% of the stages were low or no light stages, they wanted to make sure you were not swaping out iron sights and/top end for night sights when needed. Also prohibited was charging front sight with flashlight just before Shooter Ready.
  12. I work for a major money center bank with many similiar policies. When we moved into our new offices, I was offered a choice of wall art. I chose a hunting scene, snipe hunting in fact, and it went up, no problem, no questions asked. I thought it was the best revenge.

  15. Great source of info! Anybody know what happened to it?
  16. Their website www.digilightusa.com seems shut down. Anyone know what happened to this company?

    Donald Trump

Let us not forget that this queen of hypocrisy also ambushed Tom Selleck regarding his Pro-NRA involvement while sending her children's bodyguards to the Stamford, CT Police Department to get their concealed carry permits. http://www.nrawinningteam.com/norosie.html
  20. Our Club today had a demonstration of the LaserShot simulation package. Can use live fire, laser modified firearms, or Airsoft. Not exactly a replacement for IPSC, IDPA, or steel but does seem to have some practice benefits in live fire mode. Very expensive. Does anyone else have experience with this system?
  21. Have a friend (not a forum member) moving to Jackson Hole and is looking for places(s) that offer IDPA, IPSC and Steel. Your recommendations?
  22. "Competitors must use the same capacity magazines through out the competition (Example: if you start with a 9 round magazine, you must use that capacity magazine throughout the match)." Does that mean if you charge gun with Hi-Cap, all mags have to be Hi-Cap, but only loaded to division maximum capacity, or can charging mag be Hi-Cap and balance 10 rounders?
  23. Don't see anything in the rules. Any problem with putting a single round in an open chamber and dropping the slide? With a Glock, does not seem to be a safety issue. Would this earn a DQ or Procedural?
  24. Great Match! Run very smoothly with great equipment and very nice people. Weather on Friday was much better than expected. Any idea when results will be posted . . . patient, inquiring minds want to know. Thanks!
