  1. I was able to meet some of my goals this year - which I was very happy with, but I am definitely going to set more challenging ones for next season I won my section match and was the area champion- along with winning a stage @ nationals and placing in the top 16. This year was a good learning year, and I hope I can improve even more next year
  2. Mr. Manny - awesome fella =] definitely one of the most humble kick ass shooters around! lookin forward to the next match!
  3. haha sorry for no update on the juniors - its been one real busy week as far as i know (my calculator) this is how the juniors finished and will be shooting the shootoffs in approximately 8 hours! 1. chris tilley (usa) 2. bj norris (usa) 3. kc eusebio (team usa) 4. brad balsley (team usa) 5. emile obriot (team france) 6. nicolas blum (team ecuador) 7. lee dimaculangan (usa) 8. maximillian wiegand (team germany)
  4. heres some news from the american kids =) our squad consists of 1 australian, 4 germans, 4 french, 2 spaniards, and 7 americans kc eusebio brad balsley jake hicks jack carraher tanner cunningham ken hicks myself it wasn´t a good first day not just for us, but for the entire squad... it seems that most of our guns were still cold from luggage hibernation... and caused us some painful jams... the men´s open super squad was right behind us.. and had to wait on us several times due to stage malfunctions and missing scoresheet labels.. haha sorry! its unfortunate that bj norris isnt squadded with us, and hopefully he´s doing well! everyone is having a great time thus far... and the parents are the best! they´re taking care of us and are always right beside in the range. can´t ask for better coaches! more to come on the next few days! wish us luck
  5. i was so into the story until i saw the broom... then im slow ... haha
  6. Texas--- more specifically texas south section (houston area) 10+ clubs with matches every Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun so if its possible you can shoot about 20 club matches in a month here - and about 10-15 classifiers makes you drool doesn't it?
  7. best shooting experience yet =] i salute the RO's and staff for the best match i've participated in thus far! looking forward to another year
  8. IS THIS TEEPY AND TERRY PORTER?!??! I was lucky enough to be squadded with them @ area 6, what an amazing father and son Definitely enjoyed shooting w/ them then, and looking forward to seeing little Teepy succeed!
  9. I gotta agree with my buddy Jake- on most stages, a B class/ A class shooter can pull the trigger just as fast as an M or GM Time that adds up while shooting 1. getting into position 2. getting out of position 3. draws/reloads 4. transitions 5. just plain hauling butt #1 and #2 take up most of the time - but with practice getting in and out of positions, you can see where you're saving precious time. Don't rush pulling the trigger, call your shots. Eventually you can put all of those things together and see a hell of an improvement 3-5 doesn't waste too much time - (for example) but if you can draw .1 second faster, reload .2 second faster.. and transition .2 faster... on every stage in a 12 stage match... you've just saved 6 seconds - but imagine how much time you'll be saving if you get #1 and 2 down as well just my 2 cents
  10. ok well i didn't really move up in class in anything... but im just surprised when i saw the classification update that i was at 99.8% in open and 4th on the top 20 list now lets just see that slowly go down... haha
  11. haha wow, thanks guys! ... yeah im startin to feel the pain the back and the inflamation in the knees... I appreciate the greeting! and yep, just in time for nationals - see you all soon
  12. awesome pics guys, oh and sharyn... i was enjoyin all the pics til i scrolled down a lil too fast to my HUGE GINORMOUS FACE , lol thank you though! poor forrest, i think i'll rag on him some more next wk
  13. Hmm - I actually shot Area 1 last year @ Reno, and enjoyed the match. Normally my criteria for picking major matches isn't for the prize table - but for the technicality of the stages, location, and competitors. The RO's are awesome, and my only reason for not going to that match this year is that, it's too far. Houston - all the way to Montana, just isn't worth the drive for me. Last year all I got was a wooden plaque, but I didn't really expect an STI slide/frame or anything like that. I still enjoyed the match very much, as it had AWESOME stages, and even better staff. Maybe location might be one thing as well? I'm not really familiar w/ Missoula or Montana, but I've noticed that every area match this year was also located near or at a large metropolitan area (as if that should really matter). I'm sure Reno was a definite eye-catcher to quite a few GM's last year, but if it wasn't for it being an open division 'world shoot team' qualifier match, I probably wouldn't have attended as well. Anywho - I agree w/ James
  14. congrats sharyn =] - i knew it was gonna happen eventually! keep up the good work see you at the next match
  15. Thanks Brad! I enjoyed the match man, it was awesome. Ofcourse everyone had their ups and down - I had plenty of downs thats for sure , overall i was content with my performance, but as always plenty of room for improvement. congratulations to you as well on your class win =]- seems like everytime i see you, you're winning your class and goin up! By the way I never got to ask how your kid was doin - how old now? 2? big round of applause to the RO's - awesome job, you guys have some crazy endurance w/ the sun and heat! Sharyn!! hahaha yeah that was great - you ladies are awesome! congrats to matt and sam for takin home the W in production and revolver
  16. Awesome match - awesome stages - awesome staff - awesome prize table This has got to be the best area 4 I've shot... Not to mention it didn't rain a single drop =] - it was humid... but i'll take that on any day over swimming to next shooting box i personally liked the 50 yard standards, hahah just kidding anywho - congrats to all the winners, and to a well-run match
  17. I don't think he's going to stop - from what I've heard - he's just going to put shooting aside so he can focus on law school - but don't count him out just yet , I'm sure we'll be seeing him in a couple years, just as good as he is now, or maybe even better
  18. Aren't you supposed to be shipped out by then??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not until after the world shoot - I've got goals to meet before goin in Word spreads quick
  19. anybody know if theres going to be a competitors list or squad list?
  20. Squad 19 if I remember correctly... I can't BMOB yet - guess I'm not invited Hope to see you all there
  21. I'd have to agree with jake on this one. I think I shoot a better match when I'm with other GM's and M's. The pressure and confidence is there, and I'm able to shoot my own game, and also knowing when to be careful, and when to take risks. Then again, if I'm squadded with non-GM's - I'm still able to shoot my own game, by measuring my abilities with theirs - I'll know if I'm actually shooting 'grandmaster' or not just my 2cents
  22. I enjoyed reading your match report bro - its good that you remember your mistakes, and therefore learn from them. don't get too down on yourself, cuz man - with your determination and hard work you'll be winning matches more than just 1% or 2% by the way, illustrations would have been nice good job bro - knock em down @ the next one
