  1. My predictions are that my teammates will finish 1st and 2nd. BOTH under 80 seconds. They're my favorites to win! They have been working really hard, and for the last month or so, both have been training for the Steel Challenge - reason why they haven't been attending much of the USPSA matches. Army Strong!
  2. If you're interested you may want to try the largest shooting range in Houston. It's called "American Shooting Centers" off of Westheimer Parkway (near the Westheimer / Hwy 6 Intersection) In West Houston. West Oaks Mall should be pretty big landmark.
  3. It's strange you bring this up - because last weekend @ Area 8. I met a shooter from the Navy Marksmanship Team. He said he just drove from Camp Perry just to shoot the Area match. He also mentioned that he was hoping that the NMT would also start an Action Shooting Section. I honestly couldn't tell you his name
  4. Sir - There are no "kids" in the AMU. Every single member is an active duty Soldier in the US Army. We have all signed an oath to defend the Consitution of the United States. I will be sure to pass along your sentiments to the AMU Soldiers that have risked their lives and limbs in combat, and that are now using those valuable skills to enhance future deploying troops. They are now representing the Army in a different way and shouldn't be criticized for their service.
  5. KC Eusebio's 2 new Caspian .38 Super open guns custom built by the USAMU Custom Firearms Shop coated with high gloss Ion Bond DLC on the slide and barrel.
  6. does anyone know if this match is run solely on ipsc rules? also as far as power factor? standard at 170 pf and open at 160? will it be a mixture of uspsa/ipsc rules?

  12. Hey guys - I think this year's Space City has a lot of shooters under the radar, that I can't make any kind of predictions for any division . With that said... go army! hooah
  13. I can actually relate to this topic. I'm right handed - always shot right handed whether it was an open dot gun or fiber-optic / iron sights. The thing is.. I'm left eye dominant. For me, my weak hand (left hand) is REALLY weak. So I've been able to train my right hand/left eye coordination to a point where it has absolutely no effect on me. If you're left handed / right eye dominant ---- try shooting left handed - when you hold your gun up, you'll find your arms slightly shifted to center right - so your dominant right eye can align the sights. You'll probably shoot a lot faster and more accurate shooting w/ your dominant hand. In short - my advice is to use what you got. Train with it - and trust me it'll work to your advantage. Just about 6 months ago, I picked up my first rifle in basic training. Now it's pretty hard to shoot a rifle right handed/left eye even in supported positions (prone, kneeling-supported). So the only way I could engage the targets w/out having to close my left eye... I just switched hands... shot the rifle left handed / left eye. All I had to do was train my left hand more on trigger control. With rifles/shotguns where the sights are pretty much 2 inches away from your face... I had to be left-handed... but on pistols, with the sights at arms length, I keep both eyes open and adjust my right eye to the sights - completely negating any disadvantages I might have w/ cross dominance. hope that helped you a little and not confuse you more, hehe
  14. Congrats Sgt =] Best of luck out there - when are you guys returning?

  19. I've been here for about 10 weeks now, and I have about 2 and a half weeks left. I have my last army physical fitness test tomorrow, FTX on Tuesday for about a week, and then cleaning/maintenance/graduation week. After that - go home for about a couple weeks and relax, and pull out my rusty open gun out of the safe and get some practice goin! Hopefully I'll be able to start the shooting season as early as Jan 06. Talk to you all soon!
