  1. Man my 22A would do the same thing too. I got so tired of the jams I sold it as fast as I could!
  2. Daniel, I bought a Spartan in .45 months ago to replace my loved Gold Cup. I will say that for 600 bucks it was a super good deal. I am sure you could do that to the trigger guard but I would bet it would cost some serious money. I agree that the squared ones are nice but I never have used one. All I have done to mine is change the mainspring to a 19 lb and the housing to a S&A magwell. I also changed the recoil spring to a 14 lb. I installed one of Dawson's fiber optic front sights. Lastly a set of VZ Operators for grips and a crap load of Wilson mags! I have shot almost 1000 rounds through it and it runs good. I might have a total of 800 bucks in it now but it is a darn good pistol, even compared to friends Springfields and Kimbers. Some might not like the finish but I do. If ya mark it up,get you a sharpe and a toothbrush and take care of it.
  3. Shooter, I have a G20 that is a back up to my G35. I am waiting on a Lone Wolf .40 barrel as we speak. Mine is the short frame version not that it matters. I did Dawson adjustable rear with fiber optic front for sights. I have a Carver magwell as well. The trigger I did myself. I used a spring kit from Wolf which is the plunger, striker, and trigger return. I polished all the moving or contact parts myself. The trigger is alot better, still some take up but good. I can tell you that if you want a good trigger kit for the money look at Glocktriggers.com. I have his Edge one in my 35 and it is very good. You could even by his trigger bar kit which comes with the connector and striker spring at 109.95 and do it yourself. I almost forgot that I did purchase the Glock 4.5 connector as well for mine. I talked to Jeff at Glocktriggers a couple months ago. He can do the Edge kit for the 20/21 models for 150 with a three day turn around time. I would personally stay away from the fulcrum kits.
  4. Duane, I have had one in my G35 now for sometime and its ok. I will say it made the trigger feel real snappy till I got used to it. If it does break I will just go back to the Glock one though. I stuck one in a friends G19 and he wasnt impressed at all with it. He claimed it made the trigger feel to stiff.
  5. Chris, I have that same model and I only use green gas in it. I have probably 5k through it and no problems. Now I did apply some Slide Glide Light to it in same places I do on my real G35 and G17 Open pistols. I havent had any real problems with it yet. I did change the piston chamber to an aftermarket one. I also applied some slide glide to the o-ring on the piston itself. Personally I found greasing that o-ring helps seal them a little better. Also if you are super worried you can get a metal slide on the net for them. I have seen prices of 50 bucks all the way to 140 bucks. Personally just try what I did and practice with the thing.
  6. Where are you getting a 24 for that price out the door???? Ron and Jo's Firearms in Fairview Heights Illinois.
  7. I have the STS slide mounted on my G17 Open pistol and LOVE it. I wondered if the moving slide would cause alot of issues with the DOT moving around. It hasnt and two big advantages are its not mounted over the ejection port and its lower to the bore.
  8. I had problems getting mine to run too at first. Hell it wouldnt even cycle one round. I went to a 11 pound spring and use HS6 powder under a 124gr bullet. I started low and worked my way up with a chrony. The HS6 is dirty but it works my Jager comp so I am sticking with it. It was here that I was recommended on the HS6 by JMAN. I would definately listen to the others here and switch powders. You kind of answered your own question when you said it worked fine with +P rounds.
  9. I went with another G20 but the SF this time. I do reload and have plenty o brass. I will get a .40 conversion barrel as soon as there are off back order. I put Dawson adjustable rear and fiber optic front sights on it. I also did the trigger myself and its pretty decent. I also put a Carver magwell on it to. To be honest I really like its weight more compared to my G35 or my STI 1911. Now to break it in with some Double Tap.
  10. Guys I am getting ready to buy one of the two. Now I already have a 35 set up for Limited and a 17 with a Jager Open kit. This one will be for home and woods defense and as a back up to the 35. I used to have a 20 and loved it. This time it would be a SF model and I will use a Vanek Classic trigger in it. Also I am considering a set of the target Ameriglos that Charlie sells. I also would be getting a .40 conversion barrel for it so can shoot either one. Now the 24 I considered because well they are not the easiest to get. Another thing, the 20SF would cost me 540.99 out the door where as the 24 would set me back 640.99 out the door. Want your opinion as to what you would go with and does anyone have or tried the Ameriglos's that Vanek sells?
  11. I too was wanting one of these myself but had no luck finding it. I ran across a cat on Ebay selling Tokyo Mauri G17's. What I did was put a magwell on it and blacked the rear sight out and painted a red dot on the front. As you can see from the picture I have posted on here it is very simular to my G35. The weight is pretty close and it feels pretty close too. One thing though is the trigger is super light! I did change some internals like the pistol o-ring and housing and its been pretty good. Watch on there and you will probably see one.
  12. VZ Operator II on my Spartan and I love them!!
  13. I have the Sevigny/Warren sights on my 35. I personally like them alot! The front is a F/O at .245 and the rear is a non-adjustable serrated. CPWSA has them for a very reasonable price. Maybe try them out.
  14. I did a trigger job on hers and its pretty nice to shoot. Thing recoils like a 9mm! The Glock is just awesome! It is so close to my G35 and makes practice in the back yard a hoot. She is a pretty good artist I must say.
  15. The wife painted both of them. The 1911 is a WE and my G17 is a Tokyo Mauri. Thank you. My limited G35 looks just like this too.
  16. welcome to the forum. i'm a new member as well from Marion, IL. i've been to two Sparta matches so far, and had a blast both times. definitely worth the near 2 hour drive. if you have any questions about it, PM me and i can try to help or better yet, get you in touch with the Sparta Match Director, who is a very helpful fellow. If you're ever down this far south, you're welcome at the backyard range. Thank you sir!! I might just have to take you up on the backyard invite! I need someone to shoot and train with!!
  17. Figured I would show a picture of my wifes WE and my TM. Both have improved internals and Hope my wife did the painting on both of them. I think she did a great job on them!
  18. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!
  19. You can shoot there three times in your lifetime without being a member. I do believe that does not count matches that are part of a membership drive or big matches, just their normal monthly match Got ya! I need to try one of their steel matches then. I am doing a GSSF match in September out by Columbia so pretty excited about that!!
  20. Thanks for all the responses so far. Sparta isnt that far from me and I do need to look into it. Also I knew about Arnold but dont you need to be a member there?
  21. Been a member for a short time but I just dont post very much. I live in Belleville Illinois and wanted to see if there was anyone that even lived close to me? Also looking for a place to shoot at and people to shoot with. So far I like everything this site has to offer!!
