  1. Micah, what were your plans with the G17 barrel I sold you? Were you changing your open pistol back?
  2. It doesnt matter if there are two or seven in the mag. You go to rack the slide and chamber a round and the magazine falls down. The Wilsons I have work totally fine in it. I didnt even bother to look at where the lock/release catchers the mag since it stays in the box the gun came in.
  3. Yep, that is the M I am talking about. Thank you guys for the info.
  4. Guys I bought one back during the summer. The mag that came with it has what appears to be a M on it but not sure what brand. The mag will fall out though when you chamber a round. I had bought some Wilsons to use anyway but was curious as to the brand of this turd.
  5. I'd get the 35 which I personally own and grown to love.
  6. Sevigny sights, Glocktriggers Edge trigger kit, Dawson magwell, 15lbs recoil spring. My load is a 180gr bullet over HS6 and my mags have both Arrendendo and Dawson extentions. I really love this pistol but I shoot and dry fire it alot! I also use a G20 as a back up which has a Lone Wolf 40 conversion barrel and a Carver magwell. The trigger in that one is of my own doing. I have Dawson adjustable rear and fiber optic front on it.
  7. On the front dovetail id use a higher temp one due to the heat at muzzle. I use a high temp red that I have a stockpile of from when I was a tech working on trucks. Rear sights I use a green that is 640? I believe. Thing is on my sti when I installed my dawsons I did it where they were snug. I don't think they will go anywhere.
  8. My father in law picked up a rock island in 9mm. After a little clean up and polishing I hate to say it performs pretty good for a 300 dollar 1911. All 9mm reloads and I haven't seen it puke on him get. Tbe bozo even ran a overcharge in it and all it did was blew ths mag out and cracked one grip! I wont go there cuz its not the first time. I've got a Spartan and equipment wise I don't feel I have one up on him. I just pray he screwed up another round when shooting against him.
  9. I too like 180gr bullets. I've tried the 165 and in my g35 it was snappy. Personal the 200gr is best for my 10mm loads.
  10. I figured it out. I used a drift of mine thta I use for sight installs. Anyway if you tap on it the littlest bit it will go. The little retaining spring in there that holds it was super stiff. Give it a shot. If you need a brass drift will work.
  11. Guys, I just picked up a new one of these just a few days ago. I wanted to field strip it so I could clean and lube. I am having trouble though trying to remove the locking pin on the left side. I have the slide locked back and when I try to turn the pin down to the 6 o clock position it will not go! It stops solid at around the 4 to five o clock postion. I cant really see what is stopping this either. Any suggestions or should I just send it on back. Also I havent shot it yet. I thought about putting some rounds through it to see if that would maybe loosen somethings up.

    trigger bar mod

What is so different about them? The material they are made from?
  13. That is one good looking heater right there! I love the windows at the front of the slide. The frame is pretty rad as well.
  14. I have done this and it was fun. I bought a G17 RTF2 new. Bought the Jager kit along with an Ulimate Trigger group from Vanek. With the slide mounted C-More and even an 11lb recoil spring it will only cycle with hotter rounds so no WWB. I am going to go with an SJC mount to get weight off the slide and use a Wolff 10lb spring. I want to use lighter loads for steel. Once I found a good load though with my major 9 the thing runs like a Chevy truck. Now I came from using an older Para open gun I had built 15 years ago so alot of differences. I will say this, that Para was very finicky. I have fired probably 400 major rounds through this now and its pretty nice. Shoots pretty flat and for the 1500 I have invested in it I cant complain. I thought about selling it but now I have decided on just shooting minor and doing the steel stuff around my house. I would give it a shot if I were you. If you decide its not for you it can all be taken apart easy enough and maybe the parts sold off. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message.
  15. Well if anyone is wondering I did figure it out. The piston o-ring was dry. It was causing the piston chamber nozzle to stick in the barrel. I lubed everything up with some Dupont Silicone and it appears to be ok now.
  16. Has anyone here with a TM G17 had an issue where after shooting for a while the slide will seem to stick and will not close. I then have to manually rack the slide every shot like a spring gun. I took it all apart last night. Lubed the piston seal with some silicone along with everything else so we will see if this fixes it.
  17. Kirk, I can tell you from personal experience that a G20 with a .40 conversion barrel is very nice. I have one as a back up to my G35. I am a fan of the 10mm and have a good plinking round I have came up with for it. Also in a jam you can shoot a .40 short and weak out of the 10mm barrel, I just wouldnt do it on a regular basis. With the conversion barrel in mine and using the same load I use in my 35 it is awsome. Little recoil and the gun is very steady. Mine has a Dawson fiber optic on front and adjustable on rear. I also have a Carver magwell on it and did my own trigger. I also use this as a house gun. I have shot ALOT of Double Tap 10mm rounds through it and let me tell you these were real 10mm rounds. All in all it has been one of the best pistols I have bought. It just seems to do everything for me. Yes it is heavy but it makes for a very good beer can and nut crusher! I also have a 17 that I made a open gun out of and betwwen the three the 20 does fit my hands better. I too will be buying a long slide from Lone Wolf for the 20 with two different barrels. One 10mm barrel cause I want to make a shooter that will go the distance and a 40 barrel. Might make me put the 35 in the safe for good!
  18. I was watching a video on Youtube last night where Doug is explaining proper trigger technique. The hammer on his gun was either blued or painted as well.
  19. Get a G35 and see if ya can find one used. Get some spare Mags and shoot shoot shoot! I love mine with Sevigny/Warren sights, Edge trigger kit. I have one Dawson and One Arrendondo Magazine bases and no problems!
  20. I have Charlie's Ultimate trigger with the Jager striker in my open 17 and its awesome. I have a Glocktriggers Edge with factory striker in my 35 and its pretty awesome too. I just bought a second G20 and did that one myself. Glock 4.5 connector, Wolf spring kit, and alot of polishing. For a backup gun that is mostly used as a house pistol or carry I really like it. No I dont shoot it as good as the other two but I mostly practice with them. I will say the trigger that came in the 17 RTF I bought was pretty darn decent. I purposely kept it and its in a friends old G19. He loves it in that pistol. I did go and polish everything on it and installed a Glockmeister return spring. For a carry pistol it has a very good trigger now.
  21. Man I have had the shakes in my hands since I was a kid. I so wish I could get rid of them.
  22. I had one in 44 Mag and it was a fine gun. It had the 6 1/2 barrel and was plenty accurate! I shot everything through it too from reloads to hot Corbon. Only reason I got rid of it was a friend wanted it bad and I made a little money off it. The SA pull was smooth and descent. I dont remember if I ever shot it DA though.
  23. LOL, I am in total agreement with Dan! I sometimes get so frustrated at my self I want to use my G35 as a tomahawk at the target!! Maybe a little hard on myself.
  24. Guys, a friend has a Browning A500 that he has been using for Skeet. The load he is using is a Remington 1 1/8 ounce target load. The problem is after running 70-80 rounds the thing stops ejecting the cases. He will pull it down and wipe it down but he says it really isnt dirty. Now he did have it sent back to Browning here in Missouri and their explanation was this. This gun has a selector to lock out the magazine feed. This way you can just change the shell in the chamber if desired and the whole magazine doesnt need to be emptied. They claim he is leaving the lock on. If that were the case he would be taking a shot, have to load a shell, and fire again. Not the issue, its not throwing or ejecting the empty shell. Anyone have any insight or clue to what might be going on.
