Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. You can IM him at boomershooter.com. Just to warn you I emailed him in Nov three times and never got a reply. Finally got hold of him as mentioned above and he said he would email me his packages, that was 2 weeks ago and still no answer. I know he does great work, but the lack of timely communication concerns me, so I think I will go with Benny
  2. Are you going to have a Jr class? If so, what is the age cutoff. My son shot the Rocky Mt and Ozark as a jr, but turned 18 2 weeks ago. I am not sure if jr is 18 and younger or 17 and younger. Thanks
  3. So friday's check in is before the mtg at the range. Will that start Approx 6 am?
  4. When and where is check-in for Friday morning if we don't make it by 5pm on Thur?
  5. Has anyone heard about registration. Will it be the day before or the morning of or both (like at RM3G).
  6. Had the same problem. There is a dog on the back of the bolt that gets worn. Took about a week to get it from Remington, fixed the problem. Call them, tell them your problem and they will get you fixed up.
  7. I may have missed it but your ejection port has been lowered hasn't it. I am shooting autocomp 6.8gr, 124gr MG JHP, OAL 1.149 PF 172. This is with a G17 KKM barrel and an 11port Carver Comp. Ejection port lowered 0.10 inch. Spring is a 13 lb ISMI on a jager captured rod. We did have some ejections problems using an 8 lb sping firing minor rounds. It sounds like that you are a little light on your load. Inch it up slowly, you would be suprise what 0.1 grain extra will do. It will make a poor running gun into a race gun.
  8. I do plan on using them at least one more time after they are inspected. I am kind of anal on this as I hand inspect every reload peice of brass. I also gage every reloaded round. I am just making sure that the case expansion is about right for a 9mm major round.
  9. Finally was able to chrono 9mm major rounds for my new open gun. It is a Carver built glock using a KKM barrel. The velocities I got averaged out to 1384 (PF 171) using Autocomp at 6.7gr with a 124gr MG jhp. OAL was 1.148 and was using Fed match SP primers and new starline brass. Here is my question. I micrometered the cases after firing them at the base where there was the least support in the chamber. I compared them to new case diameters and to a fired minor case from another glock (stock barrel). Measurements were take a few millimeters up from the case body base. Unfired: 0.386 Minor fired: 0.388 Major fired: 0.392/3 For you guru's, is this an acceptable case expansion for the 9mm major round. Also, with this case expansion could they be resized one more time for use or leave them where they drop.
  10. Ok, determined it is a power extactor. I noted in another thread that when you sleeve and put in another extractor that you have to tension the extractor. Could someone explain that. Thanks
  11. Just wondering if my P16-40 limited has a power extractor. Serial number starts with a P but no X after it. Manufactored in Ft Lauderdale not Canada. Need to replace the extractor but am wondering to order a sleeve or not. Thanks
  12. USPSA minimum bullet caliber for limited major is .40cal/10mm
  13. Set up for minor loads at this time (11 lb spring), also comes with a 13 and 15 pound spring. Will probably start with the 15 for majors. I am getting ready to develop the major loads soon. As for the mount, I asked him to use the SJC mount over his due to that I have a racemaster holster with a glock insert and his mount will not work with it. Will let you know how it shoots as soon as I give it to my son for his birthday.
