Maybe! you need a set of calipers. Case length - 1.760. I set my lyman case trimmer at - 1.755. Thats going to vary a lil because the base on mixed brass will not be exactly the same. I use a EGW cartridge checker can check 7 at a time after they're loaded. I have 4 Progressive Presses 2 blue 2 red, but still load .223 on 2 single stage presses. a primer pocker swadge, and a small table top drill press. JMO-Military brass is a pain in the AZZZZ and requires more prep steps. If in doubt load some dummies, NO Primers or Powder check how they chamber in your rifle. Maybe ! Buy a box or two and try them. My FN SLP MK-1 Don't want to eject low base ammo or low recoil slugs. I have called FN service twice, The service man says just shoot high base or 1300, that his does the same thing. I ordered a Browning Red Gas Piston from Brownell $99. and it's exactly the same as the FN Red End. And acts exactly the same. My Opinion, check it out before investing money. You'll get no help from FN. I bought a Mossberg 930 and spent $600 tricking and a barrell, that will shoot anything in any order loaded. Perry

OPINION! The press indexes off the shell plate (press ram end) and the seating die. Press stroke should be the same. Use the sizing die for your top stop. If you press/dies are set up proper the AOL should be the same, any brass. Keep looking you have something not set up right. If you trying to load match/bulleye ammo, a whole nother cat to skin. STORY - One of the clubs we shoot at, has a Hot Shot Shooter that's ROs most of the time. When everyone in his squad don't do as he thinks they should he throws lil temper tantrums like a 6 year old that didn't get candy. Which pisses off folks. Your very close to HODGDON's starting load. Don't go crazy and load a lot. Load a few and try them, better if you could chrono them. If you don't own one maybe get someone to help you. It's easy to make a mistake with a 550, rig a small lite and mirror on your press and get in the habit of looking every time you place a bullet. Squibbs are dangerous, double charge is worse. CHECK THE BULLET DIAMETER WITH CALIPERS OR MICs, should check .224 Dia. I bought 1K from a small dealer up the valley, everyone checks .225 - .226 and some larger. I think they are SECONDS. ANOTHER DUMB BUTT QUESTION. All the gun rags have ads for charging handles and special latches, that gonna improve your gun handling by a big bunch. Now what happens when the latch don't latch or one em off brand don't work right?? Does the shooter get a broke thumb or ugly nose in several parts?? Does it retract back with the bolt when fired?? I know this is probally a DUMB QUESTION, gonna ask anyway. Comp shooters and hoarders have bought every primer in E Tenn & dealer stocks. I got a case of the "Hillbilly Dumb AZZZZ" and didn't buy small rifle primers, but have a couple Thousand Federal Magunum Small Pistol Primers. Compareing with calibers, average difference was about .001 heigth. Give me your thoughts and IDEAS, please. Thanks, Perry
