Mr. Kinsler, I have a FN SLP MKl that will not shot low base/low recoil, of any brand. So I bought a Moss 930, tricked it out with a 24" barrel from Moss and parts from Nordic/Briley that performs great so far. Shots anything in/in any order. Did basically what your doing, very happy so far, have a couple of other things gonna do this winter. There's two good gunsmiths in Sevierville, Tn. Troy Sellers 865-368-4867 Jay Crowder 865-235-4476, in your back door. Have FUN, Be SAFE, Perry

Zebraman - wgj3, I replaced the Red FN Gas Piston, with Browning Gold B111604913 - Brownell # 149-001-884 Sporting Clays Gas Piston. Everything on it looks and measures exact same as the FN Red Piston and the shotgun act exactly the same, another $106.95 + shipping shot. Only thing I can tell different is the ID stamping & part No. I have installed a merc filled recoil reducer in the stock and done about everything I know to do. Any thoughts, or just get rid of the dammnnnn thing. I have a tricked Moss 930 that will shoot anything / anyorder you load it. Have FUN, be SAFE, Perry

I would like to visit the stage Library, but my computer will not work on that link. Any IDEAS ???? Perry -
HILLBILLY METHODOLOGY: Use a TUBA-WARE bowl 7"x5"x2" deep, it holds about 200 .40 S&W. It will tell you when it need re-filling. About 2 years old, has never had a single failure, bought from Brian Enos set-up for .40s. Have FUN, Be SAFE, Perry

Hey Gentlemen; I definately shot the no-shot/white man, and know the penalty is proper. Just can't find it spelled out in points and makes sense to me, my opinion is that all shooting sports rules are written that way, so the rules lawyers/powers have something for CYA and to argue about. Thank you for your replies. Have FUN be SAFE, Perry
-
YOSHIDAEX, Yes the no-shot was right on top of the shot target blocking about 1/2 the A zone. I had a good score going until I shot about 1/4" over in the white. Found out that will knock "HELLO" out of your score, trying to see how many points it cost, or should have. Thanks, Perry
-
Could someone point me to the page and rule no. for the penalties for shoting a white no - shoot target placed in front of target. ( USPSA ) Thanks, Perry

Zebraman, Thank you, I ordered a Browning Gold Gas Piston Sporting Clays Friday from Brownwll Gun Parts. I also talked to the man at C-Rums Friday, when I send him the lifters for the Moss & FN he will re-work them. Thanks for the replies and info. All, Have FUN be SAFE, Perry

Stealthblogga, You may wanna be careful/cautious how you post your opinions. One of the other bodys/power brokers/mods will remove you posting right and have one of their hackers mess up your computer. (another Forum) 3-Gun here is a mixture of everybodys rules and the owner of the clubs throw in ther $2 worth in the mix too. Be Careful, have FUN, Perry

Anyone have a source to buy a Welded Re-worked lifter/elevator for a Mossberg 930, also a FN SLP Mk 1. Have both somewhat tricked out, the FN will not cycle on low base shotshells.. I am 76 yrs - Cancer survivor, still shot 3-Gun, USPSA, Steel Challenge, don't need to be thumped and bumped around by highpower/kicking shotgun. Any ideas??? The FN came with two Gas Pistons Red & Black. For low and high base shells. I read some where (net) there's a third one for low base shells. I have called FN Service twice, same BS story both times. First call the service guy laughed at me and said to shoot high base shells, that his did the same thing. Some of the shotgun smithes may be making the third gas piston, Anyone have any info???? Thanks for any info. Perry perrysho@charter.net

Mr. Scott Steele, Think you forgot PARA. I believe they made the first and exported to Texas, where Tripp and others got hands on and a "lil" more history took place. Check it out! LOL ! Perry

My Experience with CFE223 is much better than the above post. I am very careful, clean, resize, check and trim if needed, chanfer neck inside, taper crimp in the cannelure grove, (not so much to jack up pressures.) At our range, out to 135 yds max, get very good groups. Stag Arms 3G and Millet scope. Loading CFE223 24 & 25 gr under Horn 55 gr FMJ Can Boattail. Guess all powders are not for everyone. LOL Have FUN be SAFE, Perry

Just An Opinion! Look at a Millet Tac DMS 1-4 X 24 MM and a Burris Mount. Take a look at Glock 34 and/or Glock 35 with trigger job and front sight. Time and ammo will make you a better shot & competior than what you spend on equipment at this point. When your gettin beat by a few seconds or stage points, then it's time jump on better high dollar stuff. Have FUN, Be SAFE. Perry

THANKS for your replys, Talked to shooting bud Sammy this AM, here's what he loaded. Win 209 AA hull Western WA 12 SL 12 ga Wad 1 oz lead shot 21 Gr WST When tried in his pump shotgun something locked it up, he took it to a gunsmith this AM. I have only found two references to WST being used for shot shells both Federals. I load 45ACP's with WST, but have never used it for shot shells. Thank you, Perry
-
A friend, wants to load shotgun ammo for 3-Gun. I have tried to help but can't find much data. He has been loading with WST, (think about 22 Grs, every thingis hot). Thanks for any links. Perry

Differences between USPSA Production and IDPA SSP
perrysho replied to dd03's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Attend some of both, make up your own mind. Think both groups are working on rule changes, for more user friendly events. Just My Opinions! Perry -

Powder for 55grain bullets and 69grain bullets?
perrysho replied to Aircooled6racer's topic in Rifle/Shotgun
Hodgdon - Has a new AR powder CFE 223. Maybe you would like to take a look !! Perry -
ASSAULTER, So far I've tried Remington, Fiocchi ( low & high base) Ferderal field & range 3 dram equiv, one box of Winchester AA. All brass base shells. Remington slugs, Fiocchi ( yellow & Black box slugs) Federal OO. I took 3 cases of ammo back to the dealer and traded/paid difference and got all 1330 Vel or better ammo. Will run most of this and see what happens. Thank you kindly all that posted replies, Be SAFE, Perry

Outsydlookin, When I get P/oed a lil more, may take your offer, keep a crisp Ben Franklin handy. LOL Oh ! Do you do proper disposal work too ????? On the flip side I like the shotgun, it shoots slugs 2" high a 50 yds and 1330 vel ammo works. I will keep playing with ammo until we work it out. Was in hopes I would run into some shotgun GURUS here. Have FUN be SAFE, Perry

CURRENT EVENTS ! Problem 1 - Called FM ( Talked to a Mike person in their service dept. ) who told me to shot high base/high vel ammo and thats what he did. To me that was not a good answer, cause don't ye see getting old is not user friendly and I don't like having a bruised sholder and a sore thumb at the same time. Welding and re-shapeing the lifter/shell elevator I can handle. But still need info how to make the dammnnn thing shot low base ammo, I'm sure some of the gunsmiths know. Problem 2 - Solved, Found a Knight front Fiber Optic, mounted with a custom screw in the bead threaded rib. Worked perfect raised the front .120 higher and POI is now good. Old F O sight, custom made screw, 1 quart of GOOP glue did the trick. LOL Thanks for any info to fix the FN. Perry

Trying to get set-up for 3 - Gun. 1 - Purchased a FN SLP MK l, it just don't like low base ammo. It will feed but don't want to eject emptys after fireing. Have the right gas piston installed, cleaned and lubed properly. E-Net folks tell me to shoot 700-800 rounds or change the springs. I am 76 yr senior don't wanna wait. One would think a high dollar shotgun would work/run outta the box. 2 Was P/off bought a Mossberg 930, didn't like the barrel ordered a 24" Turkey non-ported ribbed with sights, and Nordic stuff to trick out. It will shot any thing I have loaded in the gun. Problem it shots slugs about 6" to 8" high at 25 Yds, Can not get the rear sight any lower and/or the front any higher. Where do I get proper sights to install on a ribbed turkey barrel that are not mickey mouse quality???? Now I have two high dollar shotguns and nothing I trust to shot in a local match Saturday. Now AIN'T That A BITCH, but Turkeys will be safer LOL! Perry
