  1. A lot of that trick stuff in ShotGun News. ShotGun News Magazine has gone almost all tac and black guns now. Take a look at the ads. Also www.APEXGUNPARTS.com has rail systems and parts to fit same. They have a online catalog. Think located in Co. Just noticed your in Austria, dig around in this site www.shotgunnews.com and www.gggaz.com . Be SAFE, Perry
  2. Gentlemen, I am happy for you, living in Oregon & Texas with no shortages and everything lovely in the Gun Sports. 5000 membership - 22 ppl showed for a 3 Gun, sounds healthy to me. Have FUN Be SAFE, Perry
  3. Mr. dtuns, Here in East Tennessee we have 2 gun clubs and 1 just across the state line in Virginia, draw a 60 mile circle around each, you would have about a million people to draw from for each club. With the Crowds/People now will not pay the Electric bills, and/or the overhead/supplies moneys. What's that tell you??? Tells me that Gun Sports are not in good health & something is bad wrong. What, Where, Who, I'm not sure !! I'm a Civil War History fan/buff, both sides Union & Confederacy each lost 750,000 men. Between (1860 --1865) the Blockade Runners, trains. mule drawn wagons, pack animals, river boats and rafts not a single battle was lost because of small arms, cannons, powder, or re-loading supplies shortages. (Now Ain't That Strange) Here we are in the year 2013, computerized, digitizied, cyberized, E-Mailed, NASA Space Travel, most modern freight moving systems the world has ever seen. Don't forget (Haz-Met Scammmm). And We the People can-not even buy a large box of .22LR ammunation. Something BAD wrong with that !! Maybe someone that can pass a head reading could explain it, and keep the back side romance out of it. Sad part most people don't really seem to give a damnnnnn. Mad AZZZZ OLD Hillbilly, but helpless. Perry Bear Arms 2 A Supporter
  4. dtuns, What, Where, When, Who, Think this was the 4 Ws reporting the news. What State ye in????? Why was it cancelled???? Here people can't get Ammo & Re-loading products. Last 3 Gun here about 10 ppl showed up, Last Steel Challenge about 12 showed. This past week 17 for USPSA. Bottom Line These numbers will not pay the water & electric bill to flush the toilet.. Unless you learned different Arithmetic than I did. Do you think / reckon the Greedy Bas----ds have out smarted them-selfs??? Have Fun, Be SAFE. Perry
  5. Mr. Bart Solo, No offence meant or intent. I have collected 1911s since the late 50s, some came home with soldiers from WWll. Just telling you how it happens, Keep em knotty things on top of the pistol aligned up straight, it helps. Be SAFE, Perry
  6. Mr. Bart Solo, Single Stack VS Double Stack, do a lil history re-search. Most 1911s are single stacks most owners are single stack and don't wanna spend the money for newer pistols. Most Club owners Mds, Ros, Sos get tired of the whinners, so they throw a lil even the playing field in the game. HOW???? - mandatory reloads. Now guess !! your $2500 to $4000 pistol has zero advantage over a 50 - 75 year old 1911. Here in the Tennessee Valley Mandatory re-loads are about as common as dog droppings LOL. Maybe this will add a lil light to your comment. Have FUN, Be SAFE, Perry
  7. Hey Grumpy, Which came first ? The Chicken or the Egg ?? A friend of mine called me this AM, he had bought a new Para .45 double stack, wanting to know what class he could shot it in and mag carriers. My answer - USPSA limited & limited 10. Steel Challenge ( if he can afford the ammo?), 3-Gun Nation. Don't shoot IDPA, Don't Know The RULES Any Longer, and no intrest. Did I miss anything. Be SAFE, Have FUN, Perry
  8. timawa, None seem excited to answer your question, I'll try. Go to www.idpa.com page 36 of the rule book. Ammo Carriers start there. must conform to all day carry type and secure the mag in an upside down position. Cover 2" inches of the mag measureing from the mag feed lips. And be worn on a standard belt no wider than 1 3/4". I have seen them worn different ways, but that will depend on where you are, owners, ROs and MDs seem to wanna do things their way. Now don't ye know IDPA has Rules Lawyers ready to swoop down and fine you with a PE or hanging. LOL If your somewhere you have not shot before just ASK ! Some places / local shots they kinda mix IDPA & USPSA rules, gives em more stuff to argue about. LOL Have FUN, Be SAFE, Ask if in doubt. Perry OH ! tie down your money and change when em Rules Lawyers stand you on your head to check if your mags fall out. LMAO
  9. Another piece of INFO ! Here in the Tn Valley having a Double Stack ( high Dollar) over a single stack is not an advantage most of the time, regardless of class. The Owners, RO, MDs, throw in mandatory re-loads to level the field or/and they shoot single stack. Who Knows ! Different strokes for different folks, about everywhere you go. One of the big shots in Floridia last week had a 10 round limit on mags all classes. (Per a shooter that shot it.) (Second hand info check it out.) Just do and shot whatever works for you, and be SAFE. Perry
  10. Here in the mountains we call it ( Hillbilly Dumb Butt.) In Florida it may be one em swamp illness/disease that causes the mind to go bad. LOL Perry
  11. Mr. jhgtyre Where you been???? These Cats that sell Dillon on the forums ask more than retail. Their equipment is barely used , maybe loaded 50 rounds, Or laid in on the top shelf of the SAFE. Buying Dillon and /or An Open Pistol your gonna get the ax. Takes big bullets to ask current prices. LOL JMOpinion. My comfort zone is Brion Enos, Dillon, Dawson. Perry
  12. Chuckols. When useing your Chrono, set up so you can use same all the time, measure from muzzle to chrono, keep the same. I shot off a wooden long leg stool, with sand bag, my butt on a camping stool, 10 foot muzzle to front of chrono. A lot of new Chronos get shot the first month, careful and don' do dumb sheit. Your pistols, your ammo, your Chrono, do what works for you, but be safe always. Perry
  13. I Shoot 3-Gun. 930 Moss holds 10 - FN SLP Mk1 holds 9. You load and make ready at the start of the stage. Usually don't have to reload unless misses. Or Slugs or 00 Buck on the end of the stage. Everywhere you go is a lil different, RO & MDs want to throw in their lil designs from time to time. Also they wanna play around with manatory reloads with pistol and shotgun, be aware and learn quick re-loading. Re-loading is probally the most difficult thing to learn and do well. Beginners and Pros lose time and problems loading the shotgun. Check the Dillon Blue Press Magz they have quick load carriers. I suggest you have the shotgun gunsmith fit to the 12 yr gurl child, and install a recoil reducer in the stock. Brusies and beat up sholder is not the way to start kids. Shotgun Stuff www.gamaliel.com Find someone that shoots trap or skeet to start her, right stuff and start or you will be disappointed. My Opinion Perry
  14. Just a quizzzzzz! Did you happen to read the pinned post above this one?? Maybe thats what POs em moderators LMAO! Hillbilly That Reads.
  15. Different opinions for different FOLKS, IF you have the wallet for it, buy a VersaMax the call Gamaliels 270-457-2825 order a recoil reducer and install it in the stock, re-load some 7/8 or 1 oz /Clays lite loads for her until she gets accustomed to same. Also make sure the gun fits her. My daughter shot trap with a Win Model 12 trap with a Edwards recoil reducer and gunsmith fit, (A Small Girl) Find someone who shots trap or skeet to start her, sometimes it works better. Just my thoughts, Perry
  16. My $.02 cents, I wear khaki cargo pants, and hi-viz green, yellow, red, orange shirts, I sure don't want some em hog headed hillbillys shooting me. I don't and will not wear any bill board shirts or ball caps, that is not a sponsorship. Sponsorships pay entry fees, food, lodging, gasoline, ammo, they are few and far like miles apart. JMOpinion. I'm still mad about the ammo & related products man made shortage. The Shooting Sports Organizations have been quiet as a church house mouse, except The NRA they seem to be the only ones with big bullets. Oh! well be careful, Wear BRIGHT COLORS, Perry
  17. Hope this is the right place for this question. A week ago shooting a 3Gun Nation Classifier, stage was Down and DIRTY, had to lay - down and shoot 4 targets from under a table. I have a DMS-1 Millet, I kept losing the Reticle like it was blacking out. It's mounted on a Burris extended mount.I could wiggle the rifle around and find it and make the shots. Don't know if my mounting / eye relief / are something else was going on. Ideas Please! Shot 5 Classifiers 3 OK for me and 2 like I left my brain at home, oh well poop happens. Any INFO I'll be thankful for. Perry
  18. What price have you been paying??? Is it a secret??? I am not real happy with my 1-4 scope gonna buy something. Thanks Perry
  19. MR CHUCKOLS -- MR HATCHET , Don' get the idea I am bombing Dillon 550s, I have loaded a lot of 9s on mine. I never change them, 550 - 9MM, 650 W case feeder - .40s Red press -.45s 12Ga - Hornady 366 .223 - 2 Single Stage presses. If you set up a 550 for .223, Be careful with your set-up and loading. Been there, done that, give up and use 2 RCBS single stage now. Loading rifle ammo on a progressive is not exactly user friendly, guess I am to pickey. Have FUN, be SAFE, Perry
  20. FUREIO< I buy Walnut Media Medium and Heavy Grit from Harbor Freight, also use a spray bottle with mineral spirits and use just enough to moisten the top of media, cleans better and faster. ( Pkgd 25 LB Box) When the brass cases are not bright and shinney after 2 hours in a Dillon 2000 large vib unit thats when I change it. It might not be to wise to smoke around media with mineral spirits. Hillbilly, - Don't do dumb POOP. Perry
  21. FYI - After you have gone thru 4 or 5 - 5 gallon buckets fo ammo all your questions will be answered. By You!!!! IF you wanna be good, shot a lot, shot often, be SAFE. JMO EM knotty things on top thu pistol keep em aligned up straight, it really helps. Perry
  22. For It's WORTH, Per the VV web site, www.lapua.com there's no mention of VV N320 loads with 200 Gr. Their chart shows N340, 3N37, N350, 3N38, & N105. Check it out, they make the stuff and apparently don't recomend it for 200Gr. Dig around in their site, a lot of info, print yourself some load charts. I load 165 Gr The BulletWorks & Rainier Plated with N320. Opinion, 200 Gr are used more for 10MM than for .40S&W. Be SAFE, Perry
  23. On the powder burn rate speed chart, via Hodgdon. #24 - VVN320 #18 - WST #14 - Titegroup #29 - Winchester 231 #25 - Accurate Arms No.2 is almost the same as VVN320 The question is akin to asking drunk sailers what kind if beer they like, LOL. Be SAFE, Perry
  24. e-mishka, SIR, When your thru playing with 124 gr 9MM, Maybe try some 135gr from (The Bullet Works) Ark not Texas. rn fp very accurate. Also Rainier has a great 135 rnfp. Play SAFE, Have FUN, Perry
  25. File or Flush ! Some em hogheaded Hillbillys here in the valley think that one em multi colored "Bill Board" shirts and a ball cap is a sponsorship. Enough said!!! Perry
