  1. how's the albany ranges for access via vehicle? i'm thinking about flying in this year and won't be taking the 3 gun cart... also, would be nice if there was a central place to ship ammo to other than a hotel.
  2. great-now that someone actually has their hands on one, would you mind explaining how it works and your thoughts about it's usage?
  3. who cares? i only watch it for the commercials anyway...
  4. shot the winter classic at 5 dogs saturday, where IMG rules were kinda used. didn't matter to me, until my SG jammed in the middle of a stage where there were flying clays. shot 4 poppers and had 3 clays in the air when it jammed. total cost to me was 30 seconds in FTE penalties for the 3 clays i couldn't shoot at. guess in hindsight, after clearing the jam i coulda just hosed 3 rounds downrange. gotta say i didn't like that...
  5. this 3" carrier latch, is it a factory part for the 1187? trying to find it in brownell's catalog. also, any trick to putting one on an 1100??
  6. just get an ed brown head and turn 'em yourself-delrin rod is easy to come by...
  7. this is applicable to 3 gun shooters: when the price of your optics exceed the price of your rifle.
  8. possible downside is the lack of brew pubs!!! gonna miss dechuttes... YOU tellum!!!!! Hey at least it is in the same state !!! Could have gone EAST heck, might as well fly into portland...hey rob, wanna truck up my gear? i'll buy the first several hours of brew somewhere!

  12. don't worry about it-it'll be on in a month or so...in the meantime, switch to F1...real technology.
  13. BE-jiump on it now-no reason to wait-i was at macworld last wednesday and oredered one on the spot...get the 1.67...they both have superdrives so it ain't worth the extra dough for the 1.83...you'll be amazed at how lite it is...kinda like picking up an SVI for the first time vs a Para. and wait till you get a load of the power cord plug!
  14. problem is if we're also shooting the match, all you'd get is a report of your squad.
  15. That's what I'm thinking of doing. Also there seem to be a few nice looking brew pubs and microbreweries in Bend! deschutte's brewery-2 places and one place to eat-also a logans and tons of other beer houses...i luv bend. http://www.visitbend.com/Discover_Bend_Ore...es/default.aspx Does anyone know what the match hotel is going to be? probably the dive they used last time (cimmaron, i think). if so, don't stay there...it's lousy.
  16. colt commander in .45 acp...light yet serious...
  17. kurt-i understand totally why you say that, and subscribe to the same way of thinking, especially considering wind, scope height, etc. all i'm getting at is zeroing at 50 seems to me to be preferred on long range targets, given the trajectory of the bullets-at least in the 300-400 yd range. i guess another way of saying it is here's a way to reduce the holdover distances. being able to put the point of aim at the top of a plate versus 4-6" above one, at 350 yds seems easier to me.
  18. for years i've zeroed my AR at 200 yds. seemed like a good distance given we shoot stuff from 10 yds to, on occasion 350-400. anyway, was playing with the trajectory tables and noticed something intriguing about longer ranges. using my loads and rifle, a 200 yd zero gets me about 6" low at 300, 11" low at 350, and about 17" low at 400. using the program and a 50 yd zero shows about 3" low at 300, 8" low at 350 and about 14" low at 400. so, the question in my mind is why not zero at 50 yds? assuming most of your concern is about hitting long range targets, say 200-400, seems to me the holdover points to be less critical with the 50 yd zero. thoughts?
  19. grabbed one of these for $49-thought it was worth a try. glass is a-ok, field of view is nice too. the only complaint after spending a day at the range was the 1/2" adjustments. man, one click at 200 yds is 2"!!! and that's my zero. forget it if you zero at 300! oh well, dunno how you do it benny, but that sacres me. i got it close so we'll take it to bakersfield this month and give it a try...
  20. for many long time BE'ers, this is familiar. but for all those who have'nt been around awhile, read this post. probably the funniest non-joke post of all time. loved brian's post, but matt's was hilarious. first time i read it i spit chew all over my mac... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...&hl=brake+check
  21. 32/64 bit the issue with bios/efi, at least with XP. got to fondle the new 17" MacBook Pro at macworld yesterday...it is sweet, but man, that's alot of wine i could buy...
  22. 50 for me, unless i know the targets exceed that, then i'll go to 80. they are pretty flat out to zero, but after that, it's a crap shoot.
  23. (re)built mine as well and learned alot...is that a JP ta-01, or the standard one.
  24. have a need to rotate the orientation of my optics to get the windage knob out of the way. in doing so, the windage know will now be on top, and the elevation know on the left side. i'm trying to figure out what that means in terms of the adjustments. way i see it is if the elevation knob was clockwise to go up, it's now clockwise to go right. the windage knob was clockwise to go left, so it's now clockwise to go down. this whole deal gives me a headache, but anyone else done this before? hate to waste a bunch of ammo figuring it out at the range.
