    Pluto

after 51 years, they now tell me Pluto doesn't exist. starting to wonder if we really made it to the moon...
  5. i hate them too, but shot them, in open it was a no brainer. i was more surprised the long range rifle targets were only worth 5 pts. i shot them all in 88 & change, but others blew them off. those 375 yarders should have been 10 or 15 pts!
  6. yea, it sux. like winning a lower at the dpms tri-gun, but can't bring it back to Kali. think the two mikes should consider getting a bunch of airsoft guns and doing those as prizes...
  7. i'm no physics major, but everytime i chrono at a match in reno, which is over 4K feet, the velocity is greater-sometimes over 35 fps. and my home range is basically at sea level.
  8. this is the deal...especiallyif you goto montrose...
  9. tell john i built a mount for a standard receiver hitch-used to mount a 550 when i used to go to the challenge every year. just the right height.
  10. just gimme the results! anyone who shot it scan a copy??

  14. am i on fluids, or did i not see hearing protection? that's gotta hurt!
  15. got your attention now-seriously, frank cruz and jj shot 7 of the 8 stages in 80 and change, jj with a limited gun. just can't see all 8 in under 80. especially since the 8th stage last weekend was pendulum.
  16. michael-better get that $30K ready-we had two guys do it in 80 this weekend, and one with a limited gun.
  17. dave-sounds like yer setup is like mine-bennie special and a doctor on the side for me. i think you have to decide which targets yer gonna engage with which sight. going back and forth is ok as long as they are not in the same array, otherwise, the clock's ticking. i can still engage faster with the dot (doctor) than thru the pro-diamond, but you have to get used to changing your gun mount-that's imperative. last year in vegas i shot 1 scope, a TA21, and it was really fast for the close stuff-but i could never shoot it on the 300+ stuff, so i went to the current setup. engaging closer targets with any kind of magnification takes some time to master-but no different than the handgun-gets down to what an acceptable sight picture is at any given target.
  18. i remember using the pendulum to measure power factor. then, around about 1988 or so, we were into 38 supers using 162 gr bullets to get major. i used to shoot pins too so i remember trying to do it with my super...the pins just laughed, some rolled over, but shooting them with my 45 pin gun, they launched off the table...no comparison with the same hit factor, but other variables involved-mainly mass of the bullet.
  19. eric-pm me. you want zig zag I or II?
  20. have posted 4 videos of various stages from the match in the USPSA gallery...
  21. we were getting ready to start the 3 gun nats friday, and joining our squad at the last minute was one Angus Hobdell. i'd met him before and have seen him shoot, but shooting with him over the course of a match was a blast. this guy is really funny, and one helluva shooter. he did the he-man thing and shot the heck out of that .308. he has so many stories i wished the match lasted longer. great sense of humor and more than willing to talk about shooting. angus, it was a pleasure-i look forward to shooting with you again.
  22. weather was great. was just happy my 1100 ran after breaking it the day b4. other than splitting my head open entering that cubby hole on stage 5, i had fun. ended up 20th open, but got my 15 minutes of fame on the long range rifle. smallest looking targets i ever shot. think i ended up 6th on that stage-yep, with my $59 simmons "benny hill special"-think i'll keep it.. was great to see kathy (shooter grrl) and her hubby david again. everett and tom, you guyz and the crew did a great job. so, where's next year's match???
  23. BTW, anyone see the second super squad (2) not winding up shooting stage 12 at the end of the day on Saturday as scheduled? it's already been discussed, trust me.
