  1. not to thread drift, but keep quiet, guys. if IPSC finds out about this, they'll adopt virginia count as a cost reduction measure.
  2. i hate being asked to design a 3 gun stage, only to be rediculed for not giving shooters an easy rifle portion. seems that unless the shooting position is perfectly prone with a bipod, no one can execute the shots. i hate it! wtf? no one ever practices 90 degree side prone?
  3. all i can say is i was quite a bit slower at yesterday's match. extra weight was moving around all day...burp.

    Steak

    yep...gettin' ready for tomorrow's match.
  5. when i was in the corps, we were doing stuff out of marble mountain with CH-53's. extracts, loads, supplies. flew up there to pick up a bunch of gens for the comm guys...and some beer. loaded the 53 and took off. short ride to marble mountain and went into a pitch, nose way up. out rolled 1/2 dozen generators and a pallet of beer from about 100'. generators were toast, but the beer mostly survived.
  6. Yup. Simple supply and demand. yea, right-they said that about gas as well. price of oil tumbled and gas began to follow, although not as fast as we'd like. as far a bullets & brass go, i'm stucking with gouging, plain & simple.
  7. i talked to shawn at the R&R match in july about this. he said he's trying to show one of his folks how to do it and never got around to configuring a "kit" for the fix.

    Smart Dog

http://www.break.com/usercontent/2008/10/R...Dog-593083.html wonder if he can run a press...
  9. what merlin meant to say is get some of bennie's loads...it will open up an entire receiver...
  10. i've got video of guys mistakenly loading an extra stick and burning all 4 over the last popper or clay. takes more time to burn than just put the safety on. extra rounds are good insurance.
  11. now that's funny...SVI 170 tubes...good luck. they are rare.
  12. i think kirby smith distributed some for awhile under the name "gunracer".
  13. i know mine is still running strong. s/n is 022. says tripp research under the dust cover. bought 2 of them at the time...
  14. ran across this with some old files. yes, i have one of the originals...pre-sti/svi. thought i'd share for historical purposes. and yes, they really were that expensive. img003.pdf
  15. out here we just burn oak...in an insert-nice and toasty...
  16. small is great fer 38, 223 & 40. it really is cool. we're gonna buy 'em for all our ranges. one guy (a machinist) is gonna put on a picatinny rail...then, well, you know...
  17. a drawback for not seeing them is in the transition. as the eyes are shooting to the next target of a transition, especially if the target you are transitioning to is out of your field of view will get you in trouble on those close ones. been there...lately, as a matter of fact.
  18. http://www.nutwizard.com/?gclid=CLb45aaftJYCFQsQagodVxWrKA unreal if you have a range without gravel. these things make short work of brass...even .223! they are gonna sell like hot cakes. everyone yesterday was trying this thing out.
