    F1 Racing

you can bet i'll be watching again! this guy was truely one of a kind. was a shame he and senna only had a few years to compete against each other...and not with comparable rides. gonna be great for the tifosi regardless of the outcome.
  5. in a front focal plane scope, the reticle size remains constant relative to the target’s dimensions at all magnifications. therefore, the ranging marks, such as mil-dots or bullet drop compensator marks stay in synch with the target image at any zoom level. much more expensive to make, but also more accurate relative to the reticle references.
  6. that scope is not a front focal plane reticle, so it will differ.
  7. won't mention any names here, but at the western states match in reno back in the late 80's, a certain person A/D'd while dry firing in the hotel room. his room was two doors down. i knew what had happened, knocked on the door and the look on his face was priceless. he talked loud for about 10 mins
  8. Didn't they implement wheel tethers after Ayrton Senna's accident? senna did not die from a wheel. if you saw the videos and the amount of blood loss, you would be sick. So what are you suggesting killed him? I've never seen anything that stated, definitively, which injury was fatal. The investigation claimed he had three primary head injuries. One of which was a severing of a major artery in the brain caused by one of the suspension parts attached to the wheel....and that caused all the blood that was visible, which makes sesnse. Another was caused by the tire that crushed a decent sized portion of his helmet and I think they said the third was caused by a second suspension part. Everyone seems to agree that any of the three would have been likely fatal and there were no significant injuries to the rest of his body...no puncture wounds etc. Pretty good pic of his helmet here...you can see the dented part and a hole that could have been from the suspension part that penetrated his skull: http://www.benchapman.com/project/senna1.html gman-it was a suspension part that caused the fatality. fia did a complete investigation...i read it a long time ago-not a good read. there was definitely a major loss of blood from the severed artery to the brain.

    Toilet Paper

i never saw this thread in all the years here. IAC, my family & i have disagreed on this forever. we even rearrange the rolls when noticed. and i guess i'm the only one here that feels the proper way to hang a roll is where the paper rolls out the bottom, not the top!

  12. i'm curious, for all of you using 1x variable scopes, at what distances do you dial it up from 1x when engaging paper targets?
  13. thanx for putting on the match, geoff. some great stages-i liked stage 7-got so used to shooting without looking thru the scope it took some time to adjust when going prone! and did i mention i hate clays?
  14. felipe massa, ferrari's #1 driver, is in serious but stable condition. he was hit in the helmet by a spring that fell off another car. he was ko'd and went stright into a tire wall. very ugly to watch from the on board camera. prayers go out to him.
  15. +1 on know yer chokes and pattern. slugs trajectory also a must. also, mounting the damn gun is really important. you can shave 1.5 seconds a run once you figure that out. and out west, we like flippers, so start practicing the damn birds flying as well.
  16. the simmons is the bomb-it IS my backup. shoot one of those for awhile and you will be amazed...i used to chuckle that i put it on a $215 larue mount. but it is a serious scope.
