  1. Yeah, had the same thing at my range before except they didn't restrict the area. Won't repeat what I saw but it scared me bad enough that I left.
  2. When did Seattle become the only team having "thugs?" I know the guy went off after a win, but that's kinda soft compared to things other players in the past have done on/off the field...Just sayin' I thought it was a great game on Seattle's end. The defense was DOMINANT. Seattle makes a living breaking the rules for defensive holding and pass interference, not to mention cheap shots. Watch: the league will issue "rule clarifications" during the off season. The NFL is full of thugs but Seattle is about the worst. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/11/gilbride-says-seahawks-have-perfected-the-art-of-pass-interference/ http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/2014/01/10/wall-street-journal-seahawks-win-by-cheating/ http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303754404579310500005285822
  3. Yes. And working at a computer is how I got it.
  4. Yes, most of us dinosaurs have either tried that or use it regularly for iron sights. I also use a Meritt sighter (peep hole) aid that helps too.
  5. BULLSEYE. If they need you now, go back but get as much out of them as you can. You might be surprised at what they will come up with. tell them flat out, you need more money to make up for what you lost from being laid off. And while you are working there, keep active looking for a job with a better company. Business is business, loyalty results in being abused.
  6. You need a hot steam vaporizer to get the fluid out of your lungs. Believe me..
  7. Won't it be Polarbearnados dropping down on the polar vortex?
  8. 68 today, dropping to 67 tomorrow.... Of course we have the worst drought in 1000 years going on....
  9. I agree that a glock with stock components is reasonably reliable. I just think they cheaped out the design too much by eliminating the sear and not including what is probably the most important safety on an autoloading pistol. Just my opinion, and I wanted people to understand it is not a trigger system for the newbie to experiment on because he can get into real trouble. And the "drop in" trigger kit I bought way back when for my G35 did not turn out to be drop in at all......
  10. Most of the sensors around here won't cycle for a motorcycle and many times I pull up into the crosswalk and wave the car behind me to pull up.
  11. They had some idiots doing construction and road repair on Kiley Blvd (VERY busy road) and they broke the ground loop on one of the side streets which defaults to constantly cycling the light and stopping main flow of traffic which backed up for blocks. It took them MONTHS to fix it and I had to start driving around the whole road. Idiots.....
  12. Do you mean you pulled the trigger (held it back) then cycled the slide and heard it fire again as you released the trigger slightly? The slide would have to be cycled to make another firing possible. Yes Sir. That is exactly what happened. Then, as stated above, the sear tab on the trigger bar is not engaging enough of the striker tab to hold it securely for any of he reasons listed above. Make sure the trigger bar is popping up as the slide pulls out of battery. If this is not happening, that will cause the problem.
  13. That's what I thought but wanted to clarify. The #1 thing I do not like about the Glock design is that it can very easily double or multiple fire if the trigger is "worked". The slide returns to battery with the trigger to the rear and the trigger bar "up" so the bump has the striker safety plunger in the UP (fire) position. If the striker tab can slip off the trigger bar hook (some call a sear) when the slide impacts the frame, you have an automatic weapon. Every other major design (Beretta, SIG, SW, Browning HP, HK, SA XD) uses a pivoting lever safety design so that when it fires and the slide moves out of battery, the lifting plunger is released and the slide returns to battery with the FP safety in the SAFE position. The trigger must be fully released and repulled to lift the firing pin block out of the way. There's a reason EVERYBODY uses that design. It makes multiple fire events almost impossible.
  14. Absolutely. Started hitting me at about age 40.
  15. Do you mean you pulled the trigger (held it back) then cycled the slide and heard it fire again as you released the trigger slightly? The slide would have to be cycled to make another firing possible.
  16. I truly hope that they can get the law reversed but in the 52 years I have lived in kali, that has never happened. Right now there is a dem liberal governor and the house of government has s super majority of dems so there is virtually no chance any type of pro gun action could occur.
  17. Me too, have never owned anything but Detroit iron in my 45 years of driving. And I paid for it many times. My brand new Chevy cavalier ate the battery 6 months in... they replaced it along with half the wiring harness (at least it was under warranty). The relay that runs the radiator fan died six moths after that on the hottest day of the year and almost cooked my engine. Not in warranty. But the winner was the fuel regulator that failed leaking gas all over the engine at about 30k miles. can you say CRISPY CRITTER? No, luckily I smelled the gas and got it fixed. Meanwhile, my wife's Nissan Murano she bought new never had a repair in the first seven years of it's life....
  18. the D.K. Was a loaner i got to have for the weekend from my gunsmith friend. In regards to your comment about spending the extra $100 for an S.T.I. You would choose an S.T.I. SPARTAN? NO. The new Koenig gun runs a little over $1000 from every post for sale that I saw. Go to Dawson Precision and you will see the STI Trojan is a bit over 1100 these days. hence my comment about spending the extra $100 for a better gun, I was referring to the Trojan.
  19. We've had too many lost/damaged/massively delayed shipments with small packages shipped via USPS for us to trust them with guns. We do a lot of small package shipments via USPS. It might be our area, but it is very frustrating and the support is horrible when things go missing. We had a package deliver 10 months after shipment last year. In over 18 years we have yet to have a firearm damaged by USPS. Those shipments include anything from $400 pistols to $45,000 belt feds. With registered priority mail each time the package changes hands it has to be signed for, little chance of it being lost with that method. USPS reliability is highly area dependent. Out here in Northern kali, priority mail delivery is very unreliable. In fact, USPS in general here is unreliable. Yours is obviously better.
  20. I was actually on the phone with UPS when I read this and was wishing he could see it. The new pricing is between 65.00 and 80.00 and it has to go overnight...PERIOD. According to UPS associate, there is no way anyone is sending handguns out UPS ground. What say ye?That is what he knows to be true. I know for certain that is not the case for bigger accounts that use UPS. We have 2 major distributors who send us pistols 2 Day on ALL shipments, and one manufacturer that sometimes uses ground. Heck, we pay a lot less than that and we only pay 4-5K per month in shipping with the other shipper. UPS was not as competitive on the price for us, as they are more a ground network (that's what the regional rep told us.)Thanks for your input, I guess 65.00 to 80.00 it is. Still confused as to how the gun shop costs me less.FFL at the gun shop is using USPS.
  21. Problem is: since FedEx and UPS company rules expressly forbid shipping a handgun any way other than the very expensive options (they told me I would have to overnight it), you risk losing everything if one of them "handshakes" a deal for you to ship it ground. If the gun is lost or stolen, you can not collect on the value of it.I have shipped handguns through three different gun shops locally for the last twenty years and the most expensive was 50.00. I can't get a quote for less than 100.00 from the big two shippers. I wouldn't think that every local gun shop would ship guns illegally but, you never know. I have been to gun shops where they charge you paperwork fees and shipping fees, but not locally. The gun shops are using USPS. I use them too because even though they charge a handling fee, it's still cheaper than either UPS or FedEx who require overnight service be used. You actually use the Post Office? I haven't had any luck with my local. Do you take it to them or have it picked up, they had a nut when I started asking about how to ship a handgun. The gun shop definitely use UPS. Odd...I used my local gun shop which has licensed FFL which means they could use the USPS and it's a lot cheaper than UPS or Fed Ex.
  22. You could run a strip of foam tape along the bottom of the base pad to give it something soft to land on. The kind of tape you use to seal windows. You can get it at Home Depot for under $3. http://www.homedepot.com/p/MD-Building-Products-1-2-in-x-17-ft-Low-Density-Foam-Tape-02097/202066510
