  1. I don't think extended mag releases are an approved modification
  2. That isn't the way it is enforced around here. We were advised by our AC that the .2 was allowed as a variance due to different scales and calibrations
  3. most likely a Metalform magazine, though i think recently they switched to shipping them with Act-Mags.
  4. you wouldn't get dq'ed there is a variance of + or - .2 ounces. However if you are concerned you may want to pick up an aluminum full length guide rod. I added one to mine and it dropped .9 ounces from the total weight. Best of luck with it!!
  5. I'm close to pulling the trigger (so to speak) I'm trying to talk my father into the fact that he(we) need one in our collection. Once I get one, i'm sure i'll want another.
  6. Do you run a 9# spring in a .40? Is that with factory loads?
  7. I hear the older WC's are even better than the current versions, but unfortunately that is just hear say and i don't have any justification bc I never shot them side by side
  8. Hankfan, I received clarification from IDPA hq that confirms that you have to start and stay with whatever capacity magazine that you have, if you have 1-9 round mag and 2-10 rounders, you can start with the 9+1 but the 10 round mags have to be loaded to 9 and you must stay with that for the entire match.
  9. My friend runs the dawsons and he has a problem with the slide locking back after the last round (IDPA so you want to go to slide lock) not sure if how many # spring he's running. I use the stock metalform mag and the tripps without ever having an issue. Have one wilson etm that failed me once so it is now used as a barney mag.
  10. Go with the trojan and get the additional parts built onto that. The difference between the guns is a ambi safety, recoil master guide rod, magwell, and different checkering on the front strap. I have the sentry and changed the guide rod, and the magwell, so if i were to do it again i would have gone with the trojan and saved a few bucks. Don't get me wrong they are both great right out of the box, but if you plan on changing anything then go with the trojan
  11. I have two builds that I want Infinity to do but haven't submitted them because I don't know when I will be able to get them but I am curious to know the price. Do they get mad if you submit ur build for a quote and don't act on it in a reasonable amount of time?
  12. If you go with the eagle, you can use that as your ESP gun too
  13. I like the Dawson Ice magwell, don't have experience with the techwells but it seems you need to use their grips if ur going to go with them.
  14. Anyone have experience with both of these magwells? I have the ice and like it but was considering the burkett compwell. Is it longer than the ice magwell? Will the tripp mags still be able to be seated or will i need bigger basepads?
  15. I never thought of it that way, I might have to start doing that. Lol
  16. So I'm curious to hear what the majority of my 1911 9mm shooters are loading to. I personally shoot 9+1 because i think it gives an advantage in most stages with 2 rounds per target... What does everyone else think?
  17. Trojan from brazos and call it a day... Thats what i'm planning on doing
  18. I voted for thr trp bc thats what i put on my sti, got them from mil-tac
  19. I have 7 tripps they run flawlessly, for IDPA you have to start and stay with whatever you begin the match at. If you play 10 +1 then u stick with it, if you start 9+1 you have to stay with that for the match. I always shoot 9+1 because most stages will have you empty at a more advantageous spot.
  20. I think adding fault line, I'm not a USPSA shooter but I don't see an issue with adding this it gives a clear cut yes or no answer as to whether the shooter was in proper position or not. Many times an "advisory line" is used in a stage for the RO's reference to determine whether or not cover has been properly maintained or not so we might as well make it official.
  21. an aluminum guide rod will also take about 9/10ths of an ounce off the gun.
  22. Yes its 9mm, a friend of mine is getting them through a distributor and ordered some for me. They are made by remington advertised as nickel plated moly coated 124grn 9mm rounds
  23. I'm about to purchase some factory (remington) Moly Coated rounds for my single stack for IDPA shooting. I'm curious if anyone here runs these rounds in competition. I am planning to give them a try because it is a good deal for 124gr (i usually shoot 115grain but wanted to try a heavier bullet and the deal brings the rounds to the normal price). I read an article that said you should clean the gun every 80-100 shots with moly bullets, is that true? should i try these? any info you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Do the trojan and check out brazos, thats where i'm going to be getting mine from very soon
  25. Thanks for the replies so far, i attempted the search function but i guess my wording didn't yield the results i was looking for.
