One or both eyes open while shooting?
michael1one replied to Hotchkiss's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Do it when you are young. (Probably the advice for everythign in life). Im left eye dominant and right handed. I used to be able to shoot both eyes open when i was younger but now I can't. -
About have of the high end guns at our club in Cali are Kolars. The others are Berettas and a Cesear Guerini (mine).

For my second O/U i was convinced I needed a ported gun. So i bought a ported Beretta. Since then I have 3 additional shotguns. At the end of the day, it did not help me shoot better. What helped the most was finding the right stock for me. When you have the right gun, breaking clays is easy.

391 is a great choice. But don't you want to consider an over and under You can put different chokes which will helps with doubles.

Need suggestions for extremely small hands
michael1one replied to MrRick's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
that a whole lot of metal for a young girl. I would have suggested a small frame tanfoglio if you could find one, but it diesn't sound like you are planning to buy a new gun. -
good to know.

Similar situation. Going to be hard to find matches living in California

Welcome to the forum

I used to live in HI. It was hard to find anyone interested in shooting. Barely any shooting ranges in Oahu. Glad to hear someone there is interested in reloading. Welcome to the forum.
-
Good forum for competitive reloading info.
-
Welcome. That sounds exactly like my story. Good forum for people that like CZ and Tangs.
-
Agree. Should go without saying to follow the proper safety steps if a primer doesn't go off when shooting those rounds.
-
i only load shotgun and pistol using MEC and Lee progressives (not high end at all.) Only time I've had that problem is when I don't pull the handle all the way down. Check your OAL to make sure that it is find because if it isn't then maybe something is preventing the dies from going all the way up or down. Don't know much about Lyman, but I am sure someone one the forum can help. Maybe move it to reloading section.

Yeah. Have to support the few brave (or insane) people that keep trying to shoot in california. I joined a gun club in the SF bay area but who knows how long it will be around at the rate we are going. Some club action pistol and local trap matches. Stopped reloading when the price of ammo came down and the cost of rent went up.
-
Thats what I would think but as PaladinPrecision posted above, could buying a match barrel allow me to shoot 1moa with cheap ammo. When you shoot thousands of rounds, ammo price starts becoming a factor.
-
interesting. Just goes to show that almost anything is possible.

Our gun club has lots of groups (trap, cowboy action, rimfire, 3 gun). i was thinking that we should have an falling plate club match. Its a great way to get people into shooting sports. I am looking for a national or regional falling plate competition to help justify the group. Does the NRA or other organizations have standards for falling plate matches?
-
I notice that bulk 223 ammo is not that accurate. I would say that I am getting between 3-4 MOA with cheap ammo like Wolf. Is that what others are seeing? I am wondering if i load my own 223 in a progressive, will i get more accuracy? Maybe 2 MOA? What about a single stage? Will I be able to get 1 MOA? Thanks,

Agree. The issue is going to be with the scope. I haven't taken a cmore apart but i have taken other red dots apart and realize that the laser on the inside is not permanently fixed to the outside. This allows for the windage and elevation adjustment. So even though it may look solid on the outside, the laser could be lose on the inside.

Who is switching from C-More to Delta Point Pro?
michael1one replied to Gman57's topic in Open Pistols
Agree. the Delta pro dot is smaller but its bright even outdoors. -
Haven't tried the 10mm but the 9mm work fine.
