  1. Tanfoglios are not that popular in California. I managed to get a few. Enjoying the forum.
  2. lol. Thanks. So both of you start every station half-cocked? Are there ones that you would consider being full-cocked?
  3. What's the function of half cocking the Tanfoglio? It suppose it is safer than "cocked and locked" but does anyone know of a practical use?
  4. I agree. I am not crazy about the bladetech, but it seems like the most popular one on the forums. Seems like open "speed" holsters work better but they aren't that practical. I have to try the amadini custom holster. They are made by ghost and like their stuff.
  5. "Avoid the flash crap here: http://www.tanfoglio.it/pdf/catalogo.pdf" So can we buy these guns in the US? Never thought I would like a blue gun but the domina and domina extreme look really great.
  6. When it gets dirty. WIth the jacketed bullets, it doesn't seem to affect accuracy. Usually end the day at the range with 100 yard shots. But when i use cheap ammo, the grime gets all over the place and I have to clean it.
  7. Here is something that Beven Gram just finished for me. Might not be the fastest shooter but I really love the work that Beven does. Also the best customer service ever.
  8. I have a blade tech magazine holder (older version) that works for most of my double stack mags. But it is too small for the Tanfoglio gold team. Don't need anything high end. I heard that Safariland 771 group 7 might work.
  9. I have a couple of tanfoglios that I was contemplating having some trigger work done. But I can't find anyone from our local forums (Calguns) that works on tanfoglios. Going local would bypass the FFL shipping requirements, but if you think i should go out of state, share your thought. thanks, michael
  10. I had some work done on the slide for my witness gold team cup and it turned out to be a mess. It would seem easier to buy a replacement slide. EAA says that don't sell the slide but i should just buy a standard full frame slide and have it worked on. When i asked what the difference between their standard full-size slide and their longslide version with super sight, she didn't know the answer. Any ideas? Or anyone interested in selling their slide? my slide is 7 1/4" long. thanks,
  11. That thing looks like a cross bread between a CZ and a Baby Eagle. The Trigger guard looks like a CZ and the slide looks like one off of a baby eagle Thanks for your help. I think Henning would be a good place to start for a grip, but it is starting to sound like it is a bit of a frankenstein. Going to have to unload it on someone. Too bad because it shoot well and the frame fits me well. The slide seems to be from Excam. I have never seen a flat trigger on a decocker pistol before, will it fire DA? or is there a manual safety on the left Hopefully the pictures will help clear up some of the mystery. It only shoots in SA.
  12. I picked up this gt41 converted to 9mm. It was probably a pretty slick competition gun in it's day. Threaded barrel, 3# trigger, 4 magazines, and the slide is tapped for a sight. It shoots much better than my stock witness and CZ's. If i could find a new grip, i was considering having it refinished. I put my CZ grip on it (see pic) and witness grip. Neither fit. Also, where could i find an inexpensive comp for this gun. Are comp threads standard? Thanks in advance.
  13. Yes, both are Custom large frame guns it looks like it has the exact same trigger, hammer, sear, magwell, etc. It seems if i wanted to build an basic open gun, i should start with a limited and add a comp/optics rather than start with a team gold.
  14. does anyone know if the team gold and limited share the same frame?
  15. so just to get a perspective, what when does it start getting dangerous? PF of <80? or 800fps for 124gr bullets? been loading some light loads for juniors and women at about 100 pf (with a lighter recoil spring), but i don't want to get into trouble.
  16. Thanks Maks and Juice for the prompt reply. I am guessing the color is Gray or Titanium Gray based on the color chart http://www.larsontactical.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/KG_color_chart.pdf I noticed that Brownells sells a spray can of the stuff, but I'm guessing that DIY is not advised, correct? If i'm going to send it in, maybe i should consider other options (parkerize, plating, etc.)
  17. Does anyone know what type of finish this is? I think it came from the factory this way. I wonder if can get it on my witness limited.
  18. what is a safe way to pay for a gun or gun parts from someone in the classifieds section? Seems like the good stuff gets snatched up so quickly that you don't have time to ask any questions.
  19. If i end up buying two holster (either the Ghost or DAA), is it easy to switch the holsters off the belt or will i need two belts?
  20. I just checked all the manufacturer's websites and it looks like DAA, CR, and Ghost have different holster. Limcat doesn't make CZ holsters. Safariland seems to use a universal holster (013) but has the muzzle platform. Doesn anyone know if I wonder if i can adjust the muzzle platform without taking off the belt?
  21. I used to shoot a lot but had to stop shooting for the last 20 years because of work. Recently i joined a club which only has a handful of regular shooters (pretty typical in California.) Even though there isn't much action, I decided to buy a pair of dream guns: EAA witness gold team (open class) and CZ SP-01 (limited class.) I am wondering what competition holster i should get that might work with both guns. The good thing about having few shooter is that it is always your turn. The bad thing is that you don't have much time to switch guns/holster/etc. So i would rather not have to change outer belts if possible. Would DAA, CR, Safariland, or Ghost allow me to use the same holster for the same gun?(unlikely) Or is there a say to switch the holster out quickly (ie without tools.) I really should give up but enjoy it too much. Any advice appreciated. thanks
  22. is it easier to train your right eye to be dominant with iron sights or electronics sights?
  23. it would be cool if you could see your dryfire times with a real gun.
