  1. Aah, 100 primer pick up. Don't say it will only happen once, becuase the longer you reload, the more of a chance it will happen again.
  2. So correct Sarge, just an over priced paper weight
  3. Keep the 550, or better yet, sell both and get a 650 and have the best of both worlds. Just my .02
  4. Donnie has finally updated his web site
  5. Sarge, i think there are going to be 2 court seats opening up due to retirement, and i think Obama get to pick them. (We may be so screwed)
  6. Once you get the 650 set up and running, i'ts hard to beat. Thank you Mr. Dillon
  7. I really can't see how the station 1 locator can go in backwards? Just went and checked my 650???
  8. I've had to take off .001 to get mine to work smoothly, but what i've noticed is that the funnel also opens up the neck diameter. Now when my Hornady bullet seater die puts a bullet down, i have to use my finger to re-adjust it, kinda defeats the purpose. Be careful of how much you take off.
  9. Maybe you are belling the case to much.Try around .385, thats what my book calls for.
  10. For those of you using the Hornady bullet feeding dies for 45acp, what brand of bullets do you find that work, and which ones do you have a problem with? Thanks
  11. Thanks Brian, Sure wish my Hornady unit would work with Bayous, but i just may sell it, as i have 10,000 Bayous waiting for cases...
  12. Questons Sarge, 1: will it work with Bayou bullets? 2: what do you have to change, for each caliber, and at what extra cost? 3: what crimp die do you use, becuase it sure runs smooth, cant be the Lee FCD I have the Hornady setup for 45 acp, and hours of fiddling with the collets to no prevail for Bayous. After the cost of the machine with 45 acp, what would it cost me to do 9mm, 38/357 and 45LC.
  13. What are your opinions with using the Lee factory crimp dies on the 650? I'm trying to set one up for 45 acp, and my press does not run smooth like it should, feels jerky, and throws powder everywhere. I'm setting it up according to the instructions? If you take the crimping station out of the equation, the press runs smooth again. Has anyone else ever had this problem? On my turret press, it works great. Whats the best way to crimp on the 650? Thanks
  14. My book said 4.9 to 5.3, but they were using a Hornady bullet. Using the Bayou 230, i made a 100 rounds at 5.0. Not having a chrono, i have no idea what my pf would be. The replys were using 4.3 to 4.7. I shot 20 of the rounds, found them to be very accurate, but violent. The cases looked good after shooting, will i be getting into trouble if i shoot the rest of these rounds?
  15. Anybody using n320 for 230 gr Bayou rn bullets, and what is your favorite load for a 1911 pistol?
  16. Donnie, if your reading our comments reguarding your great bullets, please update your website. We would'nt have to call and waste your time re: prices and new bullet shapes and weights available.
  17. Every now and then im having a case that does'nt receive a primer, so i looked at the rotary disc and there was a space between primers. I went to manually index the arm so i could get a new primer into position and the arm will not move unless i lift it up a bit. I have another assembly for the small primers, and it will index without having to lift the arm. Nothing seems bent or broken and when cyclying the handle to index the disc it works fine. So what is causing missing primers on the rotary disc, and why do i have to raise the arm to advance it manually?
  18. Sarge, thanks for replying again.I will try your pencil method to fix the situation. But i still cant believe that we are the only ones to have this problem out of the thousands of people on this site that own the dillon 650.
  19. I have posted once before about the powder die sticking in the 45acp cases, Sarge said this was common with the powder die? After polishing, i still have not gotten the thing to work properly. I find it hard to believe, that i need two hands to raise the handle, when i do, powder spills from the case becuase of the jerking, how is this normal? I miked the diameter of powder die and it was .477. I miked the i.d. of the once fired starline brass and the average is .473. I called Dillon today, and they said that was the correct diameter of powder die, and it was built to size the i.d. of the case. They are going to send me a powder die that will flare, but not size. My question is, how is it no one else complains of this, how can you run 800/hour with a case feeder, if you have to use two hands for the handle, and one hand to set the bullet? If there is a .004 difference in diameter, how can it work, how can it be a slip fit? My little redding t7 puts out 80 an hour, im doing less on my 650 with case fedder, im at a loss. Grumpy Toy
  20. Anyone else having problems with the 230 gr bayou bullets not ejecting properly. I have a 1911 sig saur ttt,i've set up my 650 and ran off 10 rounds and checked them with the barrel from the gun, they just hang up. I have no problem with 9mm bayous in my glock, just the 230 gr. I've used 230 gr barrys, extreme, and zeros and never had this problem.I set up the oal the same 1.250... What am i doing wrong???
  21. I mounted a hornady bullet feeder on my 650 and it works great. My problem is with the hornady 45 acp die, i set it up the way they said, and sometimes a bullet comes out then none? Also i've had to screw the die down alot further than they say, just to get a bullet to start feeding. What am i doing wrong???? PS: i'm using Donnies 45 acp green wennies.
  22. In setting up my new 650, i've noticed that the case is sticking on the powder die, which is causing the machine to jerk when cycled. I polished the powder die, but it still hangs up. Anyone else have this problem? Is the bottom dia. of the powder die just a guide so the flaring part can work?
