Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have run mine with 400 .38 specials in it with no issues. Tried both low and high speed, mostly cause I am not sure what difference the speed makes. I actually had my very first case load upside down from the feeder. Happened to see it in the tube.
  2. On a positive note, I understand that this company, above ALL others, is exactly the one you want on your side when something like this crops up. Over and over again people rave about their customer service. Major selling point for me...
  3. Thanks! I didn't see any of that in the Enos store I will just call and order up when I get a chance.
  4. What about a recommendation for powder die/flaring funnel thing combo?
  5. Anyone tried this combo? Is there a powder die that will work with/flare this case? Also, is there a plate and bushing for the case feeder? I single stage with the Lee 4 die set right now and sure would like to not do that anymore.
  6. Seems my new guy at the progressive, comfortable pace, looking into each case to see powder is about 500 .38's an hour. That is so cool.
  7. 2nd night with my new press and I am a 1000 .38's deep with no issues. Wellll not EXACTLY true. I did manage to turn a full primer tube over after forgetting to put the clip in. Pretty sure you only do that once... I hope. You know how long it took to single stage a 1000 rounds? Good grief I am so over that nonsense.
  8. I am 350 rounds deep into the demise of my progressive reloading virginity. Bought a 650, a case feeder and all the goodies from Beno... arrived in three (shipping) days. One evening assembly and adjusting dies/powder drop. Most time consuming thing is feeding the primer tubes and case feeder. I know, not a very informative post, but had to howl to people who would understand. LOL...
  9. Yea, I use plated bullets, I hear they won't create as much smoke in front of titegroup. I just found a set up I liked a few years ago and bought a ton of titegroup, still have like 5 lbs of it left.
  10. Thanks Fred! That is exactly what I was looking for. I have been loading these things single stage and that has got to stop. I avoid shooting as much to save on all the loading. My poor .22's are getting a work out.
  11. Couple questions, before I finalize my decision on the next press. My primary caliber is .38 special for my revolver. I prefer titegroup and the trigger job prefers Federal Small Pistol primers, and it likes them seated firmly. Does titegroup meter worth a flip in this system (XL 650)? Does the powder check system work OK on such a small charge, and will static cause the powder to stick and draw back out of the case on the checker? annnd, will the primer seater get those Federals into the pocket firmly enough to keep my loads at 100% like it is with the hand priming? Anyone else using this system for loading .38 race ammo? Thanks!!!
  12. Well, there ya have it. Front "circlip" or spring clip is missing from the bushing. No tellin where that bugger got off to. Now I got to find one of those. Thanks a ton!!!
  13. I can not recommend the S&W enough... Mine is used in steel match, tactical matches, ranch varmint duty, plinking at the range, practicing drills.... All while digesting ammo from what ever brand or type is laying on the bench. It has a Rock River two stage and is used both suppressed and unsuppressed... I do my very, very level best to never clean the stupid thing. It has thousands and thousands of rounds through it. It remains on the front row of my safe at all times, ahead of some very nice equipment.
  14. same for me... wonder what a fix might be?
