  1. Maybe i should have asked if a .451 dia bullet accurately shoots in a long colt pistol.
  2. Hi Brian, ive been wanting to get 50 posts so i can browse the things for sale. It seems to me ive been stuck on 31 for quite awhile. My last 3 to 4 posts have not changed my count?
  3. Can you use 45acp 185, 200 and 230 grain bullets in cowboy long colt guns? shooting 255 gr bullets gets real expensive
  4. Thanks Tambarika for your most generous offer, my son just got back from Afganistan and fixed my problem. Thanks everyone, this is the greatest gun site on the web. Thank you Brian for starting all of this.
  5. Anyone no if Donnie is still backordered, or has he caught up with orders?
  6. The magnet idea would work great, dillon should just make the locator pins out of steel. wouldn't it be cheaper for them than brass?
  7. Splitime, It's fine to pull the bullet then pour powder back into proper jug.
  8. Take them out of the bottle and dry them off, open trash can and throw away. They will never fire again.
  9. I have a small canning jar filled with wd40 for that purpose, works great.
  10. What is the best fix to take the locator pins in and out without droping them. I have arthritis and have a hard time.
  11. I have an early 1900's "American gun co new york" 12ga side by side with damascus bbl, external triggers. Ser #98969. It was my grandfathers and has little value from what im finding out "except to me". Im going to take it to a good gunsmith and have it checked out before i shoot it. Any information would be helpfull as this would be a great shooter. Where do you get black powder amunition for these old shotguns? How do you find year made? Has anyone ever shoot one?
  12. I have the Hornady set up on my xl650 and it works great for 45acp. Dont know yet about 9mm, will be setting up later. Google Big Supply Shop, cheapest price for dies and unit.
  13. Fixed it. You don't by chance drive a Vega do you?? Nope, a 1962 Corvette
  14. I found it and it looks cool, gunna order it. Wonder if anyone has used their egro roller handle for the 650 yet???? Is it more comfortable than Dillons alum roller handle???
  15. Quick, I just ordered 8 lbs.of n320 @ powder valley. (in stock)
  16. What station do you guys give up on the 650 to install a Hornady bullet feeder? I'ts either, I give up the powder check station or seat and crimp stations. I've always used the Redding mic. dies and Lee FCD with great accuracy. I've never used a combo die so, are they any good and which do you prefer? Thanks, Grumpys Toy
  17. Give Brian a call, he will take good care of you.
  18. G man, I read your oppinion on not using hand loads for self defense. Other than law suits, why cant you, just currious? Don't you trust your ammo, just wondering what i'm missing here. I would like some oppinions please.
  19. I've set up a lnl powder measure and capd system on my T7 press. For being on a turret press it drops fairly consistant charges. My setup consists of redding size and deprime die, redding belling only die, lnl powder station, rscb powder check die, redding competition seating die, and lee factory crimp die. My problem lies with the powder drop, it will work smooth sometimes then next round will hang up and requires more force on the downstroke. When that happens it clunks and you can see the whole system jump up and down, and also damages the belling on the case mouth. Hornady's instructions for setting up the capd device sucks. I know there are alot of lnl users out there that can help. It must be in the linkage, i've played with it a few times but still wont work. Please help the Grump, thanks....
  20. Thanks Corey, all hodgon loads for titegroup or other hodgen powders specify 1.200 Why? If its to short why dont they specify a longer oal? You are saying to use 4.0 again. What if i have to go to the longest oal to make my gun work, wont i be under powering the load, and is it safe? Thanks
  21. 230gr x-treme plated lrn/ oal of 1.200/ titegroup powder/ 4.0 min.- 4.8 max.from (hodgon manual) AT That oal, and loading to 4.0 min. case mouth overhangs flat part of bullet and you can feel the lip. My 1911 TTT shoots a few then slide hangs up, shoots a few and hangs up? I'm using lee factory crimp die set up properly. Is the slide not working all the time because of lite load or because its to short of oal? If its oal and i set it at say 1.250, what do i do for powder, still use 4.0? Is there a rule of thumb say .1 more for every .020 extra in length? All factory ammo shoots great but oal is longer. Have many manuals but not many formulas for my components.
  22. when some of my 45 cases eject and hit the partition wall, they get a flat spot on the case mouth. How out of shape can they get before i wreck my die? I have been saving them a while and wondered if they are worth saving.
  23. Has anyone used the hornaday powder measure with the case activated linkage on the T7? How do you use this so i can flare and powder drop eliminating an extra step. Im using redding dies. Hornaday reviews on their expanding and powder drop dies are not very good, any recomendations? This is a question for you dillon fans, can i mount the primer warning device on my T7, and what would i need to do to make it work? Thanks, any help would be appreciated. "Grumpys Toy"
