  1. the bolt handle on mine comes almost all the way back into the groove. It doesn't quite touch the back. It sounds like the bolt is bottoming out on the back of the reciever. So, sounds like yours is just like mine. Hand cycle rounds through it and see if they feed properly. If yes, then try a live one. TXAG
  2. Depends on where. I like others have a budget, it sucks but that is life. If I could drive it in a reasonable time and stay cheap, HELL YES, COUNT ME IN! That more or less rules out anything out of state. I don't think it would be held in Texas so it is doubtful for me. TXAG
  3. I like regular plugs but have tried the Peltors and love them. Cabela's had them on sale awhile back for like $70. I shoulda coulda woulda, but I didn't. Could kick myself for that one. TXAG
  4. definately make sure all the lumps are out of the flour prior to adding milk, lump gravy sucks! TXAG
  5. I don't do the home-made biscuits, but I make some damn good gravy with the drippings from the deer/pork sausage!!! MAking me hungry and I just ate. TXAG
  6. I am using RCBS Carbide sizing, and seating dies, Dillon powder die(.393" OD) and a Lee Factory Crimp Die. The combo works well for me. I am at a loss. Sounds like the sizing die is a little to large. TXAG
  7. UHHHHHH....I know I have seen it somewhere on the net but it escapes me. Sorry wish I could help. By the way, I love shooting the FN P90. Fun stuff. TXAG
  8. This topic lost me a few posts back...must mean I am a FNG! TXAG
  9. I would go by myself but it is a company vehicle. No, he didn't go to A&M, he is from Kansas. Landed here 3 threes ago. And guess what........???? I drove today again...both ways. TXAG
  10. You will get there. You will know it is right when the bullets won't set back before you crimp them. Try seating a bullet with your new die and pull it out of the press. Push nose of bullet against your bench with themb, see how much if any it sets back. Don't be afraid to push hard. If it doesn't move. Just use the FCD to smooth out the rough spots and you are GOLDEN! TXAG
  11. I am having to commute with a fellow employee(53 years of age and a chain smoker) back and forth from Austin to College Station daily for work. I have been doing most(well all) of the driving. It gets old listening to him snore while I drive so I gave him the keys on the way home this afternoon. Holy shit! I have never been so scared in my life! No less than 4 vehicles were almost rear ended before we got to Elgin! Everything in the back of our work van was in the front or on the dash. I made the comment that he needed to pay more attention to the road and less to his lighter, cigs, and the road-side scenary. I swear he accelarates when he should be braking and vise versa. I thought my mother made me nervous when I road with her and she is 64. He was on the "drunk bumps" all the way home(yellow and white ones)! And speed, 75 to 80mph. He seemed to be offended by me commenting on his poor driving. And when his cell phone rang, cig in mouth, I saw my life flashing before my eyes. What gives, you want to drive like an idiot, do it by yourself and on a lonely deserated road somewhere. Needless to say, I will be doing ALL the driving from now on. He can sort out the material in the van and snore all he wants from the passanger seat! TX"GOOD DRIVER"AG
  12. What ever I happen to have in the raange bag when I get to the match. I am not a good shooter so I can't really comment on what the "best shooters" use. Black Hills works for me. TXAG
  13. Not quite 6" but out of my G35 4.2 TG with 180 Zero makes major(barely). Out of my P16 it takes 4.6 TG with same bullet to make major. Glock load is 1.12" OAL, Para is 1.18" OAL. TXAG
  14. 4.2 of TG with 180 TMC Zero at 1.12" will do 3" easy at 25 with factory barrel. I have not found any really accurate load out of my G35. I had a much easier time finding accurate loads for my P16. TXAG
  15. I would give them a try. I asked my eye doctor about polarized or photo grey contact lens. He said not in the near future. The chemical process is not suitable to put directly on your eye. They will show up eventually. TXAG
  16. I was thinking in the $550-600 range. I would also suggest buying the Glock he wants and just swap even. New Glocks are in the $500 range unless he wants the 34 or 35. TXAG
  17. I can't find the topic that I posted more than a year ago either and I was the one who posted it. I had my gunsmith turn mine down. My bullets won't set back now even before I crimp them. I really don't "crimp" them, I just take out the bell with the Lee FCD. You could use my name for a search and read up on it. I had all kinds all measurements throughout the whole ordeal. The smaller powder die will definately help. TXAG
  18. I knew the punch line before I got to it but I was still laughing my ass off. Good one Merlin. Will look for your front sight during the match today. TXAG
  19. SRP for all my 40 loads. As stated about, it is just easier to buy only SRP for all my 40 and 223 reloading. TXAG
  20. This whole topic was well documented somewhere in this forum. I had the same problems with my 40 reloads. I had two separate 40 belling/powder dies for my 550. One measured .398 the other was slightly smaller. I had one turned down to .393. It fixed all my bullet set back problems. I finish all loads with a Lee factory crimp die and have had no problems since! Wooohoooo! TXAG
