  1. I have 2 of the 5" 4006PC guns that I use in L-10, I'd love to have a 5" 5906PC to use in Production.
  2. Yeah, preferably the Performance Center version.....
  3. Sounds like you have a cluster of problems going on here. First thing, if the extractor is causing the slide to stop you need a stronger recoil spring or the extractor needs to be tuned, an M&P needs all the extractor function it can get and that's why we have extra power extractor springs. Lightening the extrator spring will eventually cause failure to extract issues. Recoil springs, unless you are doing something completely out of the ordinary you should never need over a 17# spring, if you do there's a severe problem elsewhere that should be corrected (there's a difference in a 17# spring correcting an issue and wanting to / being able to run one). Slide lightening is done so you can run a lighter spring. I have a 5" slide that I lightened (10-ish ozs I think) and I'm running a cut down 11#, it's maybe 9# now. Never a function issue with this setup. The FSS trigger kit is just that, a kit. All of the parts included in the kit MUST be installed. You can't mix other parts, such as a standard USB, or it will not work. Mine dropped in and I didn't have to change or tune anything. Now to troubleshooting, as mentioned above the first thing to do is check the headspace. a factory cartridge should be flush or slightly below the barrel hood. If it's belower ( ) than that you may have found the problem. Try a factory barrel and see if it works. If that doesn't fix it, install as much factory stuff as possible and try it, guide rod assy, striker assy, etc. Take the extractor completely out (you'll need a small screwdriver or knife when you shoot it but shoot it single shot to prevent jams). If it runs in the factory configuration start changing one part at the time until it light strikes again. Past that, I wasted a lot of time here. Be interesting to see what you come up with. Email me if you need to borrow some factory parts to try, I may even have a stock barrel.
  4. The short one shouldn't be too heavy but the long one probably will be. You would need to weigh your gun in its ready to compete condition to be sure as we don't know what other mods have been done to it.
  5. We figured out the email problem, for some reason everything started going to the spam folder. Hopefully they'll get that ironed out pretty quick. I don't remember which one of our guide rods is the long or short but the 4.25 and 5 inch guns use the same captured guide rod from the factory and the difference in ours is the short one will work with the 4.25 and 5 inch M&P's and the long one will only work with the 5 inch as it will stick out of the front of the slide on the 4.25 guns. The factory spring should work with our guide rods as the od of the factory guide rod is (or was) the same as ours. When you mic it let me know what the od is and we'll go from there, we should be able to get you fixed up somehow.
  6. I don't know why you haven't gotten a response from somebody, I'm looking into that now. As far as the factory spring, it should work with any of our guide rods unless S&W has made a change we don't know about. Do you have any way to mic the od of the factory guide rod? Thanks, Kenny
  7. I'm sure the part you received from Brownells and Midway is the factory part, that piece doesn't cost enough to be worth making it. We usually stock those but we're low on all factory parts because of S&W's ordering system being down. Still. Like retarmyaviator said, give S&W a call and they'll probably drop one in the mail for you.
  8. We just lasered a batch of magwells this afternoon and I think there were some Aluminum Limited magwells in there, are you looking for a Brass Limited magwell or will the Aluminum work? We haven't made the Brass ones in a while in a while because they didn't sell very well but if there was enough interest I could probably run another batch. They would be expensive though, Brass has gone through the roof.
  9. Evidently I completely forgot about these, I thought they were on the site but they're not. I'll see if I can correct that Monday. Thanks for the reminder.
  10. The factory Pro sight is a fiber optic, filing it down would get into the fiber optic hole and would make the sight pretty much worthless.
  11. Move the decimal and you're close. The FS M&P's use a .160 tall front and the 5" use a .180 tall.
  12. I did, they're off to anodize right now, I hope they're back next week and then we'll get them on the website.
  13. Last I heard they were removed from their site because of the sudden rash of problems with the metal insert wearing and not holding the mag in place but I have nothing to confirm that. I hope to have the mold started for our new mag release button next week, the prototype looks good and we just need to get started on the mold so we can make a batch.
  14. Funny you should ask, I'm actually making those for the M&P right now. When I made the Aluminum slide end caps a while back I ran some that were slightly extended and had 2 holes drilled and tapped for a slide racker. I'm right in the middle of setting the machine up now to run a batch of the slide rackers, I should be able to have them finished and out to anodize by Monday. BUT, I don't remember so I'll have to check to see if the full size end caps are the same as the Compact. Should have something finished soon.
  15. He wasn't a LEO and I'm assuming he had a permit but he didn't have a problem with the unload thing, he actually spent the entire day pasting and learning. More than some on the squad did... I did have this thought, this happened in FL so does FL law allow concealed carry at a sporting event or public gathering? I don't remember from the CC classes but I know GA law doesn't so there would be a legal issue there. Or is a shooting match not considered a sporting event?
  16. I know it's probably been asked but I've searched and looked til I'm tired so.... We're in the process of running a stage at a club match and a guy walks over to watch because he's interested in playing the game but obviously not today because he has no gear on. The RO jokingly says "where's your gun?", spectator dude says "right here" and pats a concealed carry gun under his shirt. After a brief ruh roh moment, one of the other shooters (also an RO) takes him onto the cleared COF and has him ULSC and re-holster an empty gun. It's a cold range and there are no signs posted as such but what's the call here? He's not a competitor so.... And, where does he go hot again? I have my own ideas on this but is there anything official?
  17. The idea was the 2 opposing angles (the lip at the front and the angle of the retainer stud) would work against each other to keep the magwell in place. Testing the prototypes on several M&P's proved it worked. BUT, what we've since discovered is there is evidently more variation in the grips than we thought and that along with a little play in the stud will magnify the problem. When I could get it to pop off, a small washer betwen the magwell and stud keeps the stud from pulling down and it stays in place. I don't think you should buy a new product and then have to shim it to make it work so we're making a new retainer stud with the little nub on the stud that will lock in just like the factory retainer. It's not going to be an overnight thing but we are aware of the issue and are working on it. Thanks, Kenny
  18. No. The roll pin is much easier to remove/install than the factory solid pin, and the factory roll pin is easier as well. Ours is made of stainless steel and the factory roll pin is made of unobtanium.... Just remember to remove from top to bottom and install bottom to top.
  19. We don't have the factory pin, they're on eternal backorder, but we do have a stainless roll pin that matches the factory specs. I checked the website because I thought I had added them but evidently not. I'll do that now so give me 15 or 20 minutes and I'll get them added.
  20. It is listed under Factory Parts, for the 45......no idea why it's there and not listed for the others as well. Took me forever to find it. I'll have that fixed shortly. Thanks
  21. When/if they weigh guns at major matches do they use the weight on the list or do they weigh a stock gun and go from there? I can see a headache for a lot of folks if they use the weight from the list.
  22. That's the benefit of plastic, it can flex without cracking. Ammo boxes have a plastic hinge that (almost) never cracks and precisely the reason car body panels are made from plastic. That and it's cheap....
  23. Absolutely. It's been shown on Top Shot numerous times. And other shows I've seen with high speed video. It's cool watching an M-14 flex and bend when fired. That's where accuracy comes in, setting up a rifle so the barrel vibrates the same every time. That's why different loads and bullets perform different in guns, they make the barrel vibrate different. Same with a pistol but other parts come into play as well.
