  1. The PC new stuff is just not what it used to be when it comes to the revolvers. Not sure why. I just got a SW 627 v-comp from the PC. The hammer was rough, it looked like it needed more machining before a finish was applied. But since I am planning to replace it with a bobbed one from APEX, I don't mind. Even the trigger looks rough. the springs used for the hammer and trigger, well,,,, had to be replaced with the JM ones to be able to bring the trigger pull to 7lbs. I also got a competition firing ping/spring to ensure ignition using Federal primers. My point is that PC means performance center. They look more and more like special production runs. I cannot believe that a gusmith who takes pride on his work will allow one his guns to go to a customer in such rough shape.... Makes no sense. However I bought a 22lr model 41 from the PC center and it is simply amazing: Trigger is crisp, look and feel was just outstanding. All I needed to do was to mount a red dot and by the Barbas of Santo Poco, I love it.
  2. 30 spcl + P is specially with the self denfense loads out there is a good piece to carry. IMHO
  3. I'd becarefull... some of this small cameras are good for situations where you are not moving much and just observing. But if you start running there maybe some unwelcomed image artifacts which will plagued your videos. This is one of those things where I would go with other proven systems... like what most Jefes are using in ipsc/uspsa matches... my 2 centavos
  4. Jefe a sombrero does the trick for yourstruly... It serves as good gauge for wind conditions.
  5. I give you Jefes,,, the Terminator and yes, yes,,, that's my workbench
  6. Micah, I finally got the open Glock all put together. I am using a fresh off the shelf OD G17, Dawson's heaviest magwell, Lone Wolf barrel with Jager comp purchased from Jager, STS with dovetail mount, T.H.E. extended non captive tungsten guide rod, 11 lb ISMI recoil spring. The trigger has been "adjusted" by someone I trust very much but I'm no gunsmith so I couldn't tell you what was actually done. I just had my first 300 round range session tonight with factory Federal and Remington ammo with lots of troubles. I am having failure to feed problems more often than the occasional failure to extract. I tried a 13, 15, and stock recoil spring and that just increases the FTE's. So I started trimming coils from the 11 lb spring. After trimming about 5 coils the gun is running better but FTF still gets me 1/22 rounds or so. It seems as though the barrel, comp, and dot are too heavy. The minor factory loads don't have enough power to push the slide all the way to the rear to cleanly pick up a round from the magazine. The FTF looks as such. The nose of the bullet in the chamber. The round is angled upwards at a ~45 degree angle but the little metal tab thats on the bottom of the breach face that's supposed to be behind the case is right above/ahead of the front of the rim if the case and that's where it all stops. The gun will run fine with the stock barrel and a 13 lb spring which I think reaffirms my too heavy theory. I am going to hit Jager up for advice as well but I thought y'all might have some suggestions as well. P.S. It may be time to turn all of my questions in this otherwise meaningful thread into a new thread with a title like "The long road to building a Glock 17 open gun". Jefe, on FTE I'd like to give you my 2 centavos. In a different thread I asked for help on this forum on that specific issue. Another Jefe advised yourstruly to use a 9mm non-lci (non-loaded carry indicator the old style) and use a non-lci SLB (spring loaded bearing) for the .40 caliber. Total costs was very little, maybe 12 pesos. But It solved my problem. Now I am shooting major loads. I find that for minor loads there may not be enough recoild to fully extract those 115 grains factory loads. So I do get stove pipes with those loads, but Major loads these come out with a purpose. I think that finding a combination of springs and compesators that works for all loads would be difficult if possible. I am using mine for major loads and that's all I will be shooting through it. Now, I am very new at this, so take my advise with a grain of salt.
  7. I agree with the big belly helps, specially if you lean a bit forward... I am shooting 115 round ball 9mm factory stuff, albeit a light load my hands barely move. I thought I was just getting better with my stance, all along my weight problem, which is getting worse with the years was helping. But notice how the bigger waste line makes my mags fall out.. lmao
  8. Ok the non-lci extractor 9mm came and the 40 caliber SLB. Installed both and problem has been resolved. Thanks so much LPatterson. You are wise in your ways... Moderator please close topic. Nothing else to discuss here. Thank you Sir.
  9. ... Apologies I am trying to place the video with the media tags with no luck

  12. wow,,, that's amazing. It was only when you knew you had to aim that you were really looking for that red dot. amazing.
  13. I agree. Once you test fire it 25 rounds or so.... put it away and just wipe the outside. Put it away and don't mess with it. NOthing good comes out changing things before a match.

  20. I guess the lesson is keep the finger off the trigger while not engaging the targets. I could see you were in a hurry to get that mag out. Thanks for sharing this video. It is a good lesson to us all. And you were doing great. Love those double taps... NICE!
