  1. They dug into my hand. I sent it back.
  2. I took it to the range tonight and shot some bill drills and double's without adjusting the trigger and had no problems. I think in matches I just go into "robot mode" and start working the trigger like its my shadow causing me to short stroke. Thanks for the advise for those who replied.
  3. I recently purchased a CZ tactical sport in 40 to shoot in limited. For the past 4 years I shot a 9mm cz 75/shadow in production and I am "B" class in production. I installed a new trigger on my tacitcal sport and adjusted the pre-travel (take up) enough to make sure the trigger reset and I adjusted the over travel to make sure it wasnt making contact with the sear. When I dry fire the trigger always resets. I start shooting matches and have a problem with the trigger not reseting. I go to range and practice bill drills and have no problems with the trigger reseting, however in a match I keep having problems with the trigger reseting. The tacitcal sport is much thicker then my shadow, and my finger has to move farther forward to reset the trigger with the tactical sport. I was thinking that in matches the problem is that I have "trained" my trigger finger to only move far enough to reset the shadow and its causing me to short stroke on the tactical sport. Has anyone else experienced this or could it be a technical problem with the gun I am just over looking? Thanks
  4. Is it necessary to use Loctite on the pre and over travel set screws to maintain your adjustments? I found I had to use blue Loctite on my shadow over travel screw to keep the screw from losing my adjustments and I was wondering if the same holds true for the CZC S/A aluminum trigger installed on the TS. Thanks
  5. I agree if you want certain 100% reliablity then 15lbs. I have two shadows, both with extended FP and reduced power FP springs. One is 100% on CCI primers with a 13lb spring, the other is 100% only with a 15lb spring. I can even swap firing pins and FP springs in the guns and the results are the same. If you are going to run federal primers exclusivly you can run an 11.5 with with extended FP and reduced FP springs.
  6. All my dealings with Cajun gun works have been very positive too.
  7. I run an 11lb recoil and 13 lb MS. I do run the extended firing pin and would recommend it if you go to these spring rates. I believe the stock MS is 17. Different people like different feels in their recoil impulse. I would try an 11 and 13 lb RS and a 13 and 15lb MS and see what suits your fancy. Could you spell out the "variety of issues" (problems) with using the buffers? I made some comments in the thread below (Shooting the TS) and I really am interested in this topic. Both ejection and feeding (nose dives mainly) issues. Not sure why, but my completely unproven theory is that the buffer forces the gun to short stroke and absorbes energy some and these guns just do not like that. Like I said though, I am just pulling that out of my butt. Thank you for your replies. I would also guess that the buffer causes short stroke problems as it shortens the distance the slide travels.
  8. What weight of recoil spring are you running? Also do you know the weight of the factory TS hammer spring?
  9. I just purchased a TS 40 and have a question for those of you with high (10,000 plus)round counts in your TS 40 and have not used any sort of buffer. Have you noticed any excessive wear or battering to the frame or slide? I am very tempted to just ditch the buffers due reports of them causing malfunctions but I dont want to damage the gun. Thanks
  10. I have shot a cz for 4 years now sp-01 18rd and 75 16rd mags and never had anything remotely like that happen.
  11. I had a 75 SA (same frame as 75 shadow) and I currently own a sp01 shadow, I never noticed the beveling or lack of it during mag changes. If I wanted to SSP in IDPA I would most certainly get the 75 shadow
  12. New? I am still waiting for the TS to start being imported in signficant numbers and getting the longslide 75 shadow on the USPSA production list.
  13. Personally I would spend the money on thin aluminum grips or practice ammo, but that is just me.

    CCI Primers?

I have two shadows both with extended firing pins and reduced power firing pin springs. One will only ignite cci small pistol primers at 100% with a 15 lb hammer spring, the other will do it a 13lb hammer spring. I have cleaned the firing pin channel on both.
  15. I saw this one one of the "new" Dawson CZ sights with the pre-drilled groove for the cross pin. The sight wiggled like crazy. My old style Dawsons fit nice and snug after some fitting. Dear DP, change them back!! The problem is with the pre-drilled groove, for a certain tight fit you have to drill your own groove and it is the reason CZ custom does not pre-drill their front sights.
  16. I did the exact same thing, except I run an 18lb spring.
  17. I used this method to work up a 124 gr JHP montana gold load for my cz shadow: reply 3# And came up with a max COAL of 1.10, which with 4.0 grains of titegroup and federal SPP gives me 132 PF and good accuracy.
  18. Because it is not legal for IPSC, but is legal for USPSA. IPSC does not permit barrels greater then 127mm in length for the production division. Both the 35 & 34 exceed that length. Its the reason Bob Vogel shot a 17 at the world shoot he just won. http://www.ipsc.org/rules/proddiv.php I also have big hands and get slide bite from glocks, I handled a gen 4 17 and locked the slide back and the slide was still touching my hands with a high grip. For IPSC I would get a shadow, tanfoglio, or if you can afford it sphinx, DA/SA guns have a advantage in IPSC imo due to the min trigger pull weight.
  19. I sort of suspect this, I just cut the target in half with my front sight when I am unable to see the A zone due to distance or poor lighting and as you said the A zone is not dead center on a metric target.
  20. I have done bill drills at 7 and 10 yards and never really noticed my hits being low, even with 10 round bill drills. But I will shoot some again and pay closer attention to the hits this time.
  21. I shoot a cz shadow with a fiber optic front and adjustable LPA stle rear sight in production. I adjust my sights to where the rounds strike at the top of the front sight blade at 25 yards. I adjust my sights free style without using a bench. I notice that in a match my hits on targets at distances greater then say 10 yards are almost always low. Yet when I go to the range to check the zero on the sights to see if they might have been knocked out of alignment its always dead on at 25 yards. I used 124 MG JHP at about 132ish PF. In the haste of a match am I watching the fiber rod, instead of the top of the front sight? Or could it be that I am just aiming dead on at the target without compensating for the fact that the A zone is actually slightly higher on the target. Any advice would be appreciated.
  22. May I ask the round count on your IPSC?
  23. I have the opportunity to purchase a CZ 75 Standard IPSC 40 locally for a good price. I want to move into limited and would like to stay with the CZ platform (shoot a shadow in production). I am leary though due to the mentioning of slide cracking in this model below: Here It seems like the tactical sports model might have been created to address this issue: The TS retains all of the best features of Standard IPSC model and improves upon the platform with increased durability, new sights, a new trigger system and more. description However I was told by an individual who is a CZ smith that he had never heard of a slide cracking issue in the Standard Ipsc model. He was of the opinion that it could have been individuals running too light of recoil springs for the loads they were shooting. Any Standard IPSC model owners care to share the experience with this model?
