  1. I rounded out the hex set screw on my CZ custom shadow fixed rear sight, however the sight is where I want it to be. I used blue loctite and I am unable to remove the set screw due to it being rounded out. Does this matter since I dont want to drift the rear sight anyway? Thanks
  2. So, I was under the impression that 'Shadow' was the custom build. Are you saying that there is a non-custom Shadow CZ 75? SP-01 Shadow SP-01 Shadow Target Custom SP-01 Shadow Custom 75 Shadow Target 75 Shadow All of them except the SP-01 Shadow come in duo tone too.
  3. I have a spo1 shadow target and a spo1 shadow custom. Honestly if I had to do it all over I would just order the regular shadow, throw in a CGW ULDA (ultra light double action) kit and thin aluminum grips, and stainless steel guide rod and be done with it.
  4. Why 16? I would have figured 10 simply because ten is the base of the decimal numeral system, by far the most common system of denoting numbers in both spoken and written language
  5. I would bet the XDM 5.25 will have a bit more next year.
  6. Same set up for me, runs fine with FED or WIN, not tested any others. When you test the DA stroke is what you should be testing, its shorter then the SA release and if you going to have light primer strikes it will be on the DA stroke.
  7. The aggressive checker aluminum are sharp and I sent mine back, they were to much. I am a desk jockey without much callous on my hands though, if you have rough calloused hand they might be perfect. I used alum grip tape ones myself.
  8. Stoeger had been on a tear recently, this does not suprise me at all.
  9. That is exactly what I'm trying to say. You remove the rail, and obviously the FLDC and are all specs the same of the 2 frames? I don't want to shoot the 75 target and realize it has less of a under cut or something else odd. I owned a 75b SA which has the same frame as the 75 shadow and I own a sp01 shadow target. The only difference I could tell is the spo1 has more weight out front due to the rail and the mag well is slightly beveled. The only thing I noticed when shooting the guns in competition was weight from the full length dust cover on the sp-01, I dont think the slightly beveled mag well made any difference. If you want a light rail and more weight out front then get the sp01 shadow, if not get the 75 shadow. Personally if I had to buy them all over again I would have just gotten the stock sp-01 shadow and installed the thin alumin grips.
  10. 75 shadow does not have a "milled off rail" it has a 75b SA frame.
  11. The pin on my LPA walked out constantly. I would have to go to a safe area in between stages to tap it back in, so that it wouldn't walk all the way out. The pin on my Kensight never walked out, and I ran it about as much as the LPA in total. Now I run the standard factory fixed rear - I don't like having additional points of failure in my rear sight, plus I decided that the factory rear actually results in the best sight picture for me. Funny, just today I noticed that the kensight was moving a small amount in the dovetail. I removed the elevation screw and saw one of the set screws had worked itself loose. I am beggining to think about installing the TS fixed sight and TS front sight myself.
  12. It does not exist, the only adjustable sights I am aware of for the shadow that do not require milling the slide are the LPA sights. Milling of the slide is illegal in IPSC and legal in USPSA.
  13. I would not do anything if the slide is not rusting.
  14. DPM Surely it would be production legal too.
  15. My Kensight on my Shadow Target has been fine. I think they used Kensight for awhile because LPA was out of stock. The only thing is that the pin in the front of sight walks out a bit after 500 rounds or so, but you just tap it back in and no problems. Dont see any reason to change it atm.
  16. I think the bore axis thing is real (law of physics), but its effects are so minute to be completely irrelevant. I dont think anyone lost a match because of their XD's bore axis. If the XD works for you, then that is all that really matters.
  17. shadow custom has fixed sights and comes with AL grips, shadow target has wood grips and adjustble sights milled into the slide. I bought my shadow custom used, it was assembled in 2009, my target was assembled in 2010. It could be the extended firing pins were new for 2010, the custom shop just made a mistake, or the previous owner switched firing pins.
  18. I called the custom shop today and they stated that extended firing pins were 63.5 mm long, which works out to exactly 2.5 inches. My firing pin out of my shadow custom with the one side machined flat was 2.466 same as steel1212 and strick. The extended firing pin I have from CGW was 2.5025 and the firing pin that came in my shadow target was 2.5015, so it would seem the firing pin that came in my shadow target was extended, but not the shadow custom.
  19. Please post your results when you do.
  20. For me its the lack of a .22 LR practice XD/XDM gun or kit. I also dont like grip safeties, they annoy me. I think more is made about the bore axis then the reality of it being a hinderance.
