  1. I have handled both the 2011 and the TS. I personally think the CZ has better ergos with the slim grips. 2011's are more popular because they were first and most people are just plain used to the platform.

Me personally, I would just get a pcr and do an action job on it, install custom hammer and be done with it.
  3. Initially with my shadow you could not engange the safety unless the hammer was all the way cocked, now you can engage it with the hammer all the way down. The safety still works so I dont worry about it.
  4. Now if we could just convince blade tech to make a holster for it.
  5. Springfield could make a fortune selling either a dedicated 22lr xdm or a conversion kit, but I doubt one is on the horizon. Maybee TGO could steer them in the right direction. I would seriously consider ditching the cz platform in production for the xdm but I love my cz kadet 22lr conversion to much.
  6. I run 124 MG JHP's at 1.10 in my unreamed shadow no problem.
  7. My SP01 Shadow couldn't run factory Federal 147gr ammo, the throat was pretty short and the ogive was hitting the rifling. I think that factory Fed 147gr was in the 1.090" range (not near my notes right now). Not that I really wanted to run factory ammo, but I couldn't really develop a safe load for heavier bullets before I reamed the throat. Strange, my buddy gave me some of his 147 gr CMJ loads from MG loaded out to 1.15 and they fired just fine in my unreamed shadow barrel.
  8. I would guess 13lb or 15lb. 13# works for me with normal pistol primers (CCI and Winchester). It does not work with my Kadet kit, however. I believe the 75B I have that runs the Kadet upper has a 15#, but it might even be a 16#. I had to go to 18lbs to get a 100% reliablity out of kadet with federal bulk pack. Which probably explains why CZ uses 20lb springs in factory guns.
  9. What is the big deal about reaming out the barrel to load longer ammo? Why not just run shorter loads, you need less powder.
  10. For my gun with the extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring the 8.5 was to light even with federal primers, the 11.5 works for federal but will get light strikes with WIN primers, the 13lb was reliable with everthing.
  11. No complaints for my cr speed pouches.
  12. When you say "right" do you mean the ejection port side?
  13. Is there any difference between the factory CZ 16 round mags and the Mecgar 16 round mags?
  14. AFAIK the only difference in the DA/SA triggers and the SAO triggers is the SAO triggers have had the disconnector removed and an a SAO trigger installed which has pre and over travel adjustment screws. Shadows, TS, and 85 combat models dont have firing pin blocks so that would probably affect pretravel to.
  15. I spoke with CGW's today and they are going to send me some new springs at no charge. CGW takes care of their customers.
  16. I bought the CGW ultra light DA kit. I installed the 8.5 mainspring and extended firing pin with reduced firing pin spring and had no problems igniting federal primers, but after the mainspring spring had a couple thousand trigger pulls on it I started getting light strikes with federal primers and had to move to the 12 spring to get reliable ignition with federal primers. The 12 lb spring will still light strike winchester primers.
  17. Also make sure you are not mashing the mag release hard. On my shadow, which comes from the factory with the ext mag release, if you mash the mag release to hard, the other side of the mag releases comes into the mag well and causes the mags to get hung up. To check this take the top end off (slide and barrel), insert a mag with the round walked forward a bit, mash the mag release hard and it will get hung up, just lightly press it and they will drop free.
  18. Production, less expensive, more "realistic" equipment (non race holsters, limitations on mag pouch placement) and the greater accuracy required shooting minor.
  19. They could stand to be just a touch higher, but I don't mind them all that much. Thumb riding the safety is how almost everyone I know shoots them, and 1911s, and nearly anything with a frame mounted safety. When I first started shooting 1911s, the thumb on the safety felt weird. But, shooters far more knowledgeable than I insisted it was the proper way. Eventually I got used to it, and can't imagine shooting the CZ or a 1911 otherwise. same here
  20. Why? 17.2 Aftermarket open sights (see Rule 5.1.3.1) are permitted, provided their installation and/or adjustment requires no alteration to the handgun Wouldnt these sights use the existing cut in the slide? LPA
  21. I can feel a noticble difference in the DA stroke when going from a 15 to 18 lb mainspring, did you try it in DA? SA is much harder to discern, but I can tell.
  22. I didn't 100% ignition with federal bulk pack 22lr until I went up to a 18lb spring.
