  1. I have been blessed with too much work to have gotten them into production yet. I know others have been having luck with some glock comps on the strom lake barrels. I will get to them one of these days, but customers waiting on guns have to come first.
  2. Opps got the link to work. That is pretty cool rule book says one thing but then the form doesn't give you the option. I wonder then how they decide?
  3. Seth, I cannot get you link to work but from page 8 of the Classification Book:
  4. I think they need to give us all 10% since Dave had on his superman cape. There is also something in the rule book that the MD had check a box on the match application for it to count for a classifier, so we need Alan Meek to chime in on if he checked the box or not.
  5. So you feel that those people did not improve their shooting? I believe they did. You cannot go from Marksmen to Master without improving your shooting. Just because they got beat in a match does not mean they did not improve their shooting. I feel improving is improving, and no matter what anyone tells me I know improving beats continuing to suck. ps the tips I gave were not specific to the classifier, they apply to any stage where single hand unsupported shooting or low cover is required.
  6. Not that you cannot do it at home by yourself, but there experts out there for just type of thing....Physical Trainers. I found a couple guys local that run a competitve sports training program and have worked with PRO atheltes. I sent them some videos of what we do and they have been great at working with me and improving my stage movement. I am sure you can improve by yourself, but just like improving your shooting it really helps to have someone that really knows their stuff watching over you. Not to mention that having a scheduled time to do the activity helps keep you showing up. Train Hard, Dan
  7. Here is my method however flawed: 3- 10 shot strings, one ambient temp, one from the freezer, one from the crockpot (my wife doesn't mind to much). The slowest round of each string must hit 130pf doing the math as if my bullet weight is one grain less than it is. This way if I am shooting the frozen penguin match (Jan in northeast PA)or USPSA nats in Vegas I am covered and never sweat the chrono. For what it is worth this usually yields around a 135-140pf.
  8. Two things I saw: 1. when shooting, one hand always transition towards the center of your body. So when shooting left handed transition L-R when shooting right handed shoot R-L. You can move the gun faster towards your center line than away from it. 2. When taking a knee always go down on the knee that you will be shooting around low cover from. In other words if you are going to shoot around the right side go down on your right knee. You will get a lot less cover calls and you can lean out further as your other leg can counter balance your body. Lastly, not really a tip, but it is pretty much impossible to make master until you figure out how to shoot stage 3 without dropping so many points.
  9. If you can take a babes with bullets class. I got my wife started into our sport a couple years ago, one of the first things she did was take that class. She absolutly loved the class and made a lot fo good friends in the sport. Outside of that, after every match list out first what you did well (you have to write down at least three good points before you can get to the next step) then list out what needs work. Before you go to practice consult your notes see what it is you need to work on. if you are not sure how to work on something, come to the forum and do a search, most everything has been covered. So far this has worked for me and my wife.
  10. Mike, Both matches are half day formats, and running friday, sat and sunday. I know several guys shooting both matches. I am just sayin
  11. I use both, depenending on the target, your goal is to hit two A's as quickly as possible, so if it is a 10yd open target my sight doesn't need to stop to get an A hit. Now if it is a 10yd with a no shoot on it my sight needs to stop, if I want a good hit. The good news is you are seeing your sights now you just need to keep playing with what you need to see to make the hits on various targets at various distances. This will give you the confidence that you shots will impact where you want them to. I recently found out I have no idea what I need to see on a 3yd target, it lead to too many extra shots as I just didn't have the confidence that my rounds were going where I wanted them to. Basically, every target has it's acceptable front sight movement and approprite trigger control, figuring this out and applying it correctly is the key to successful shooting.
  12. Last year at nationals they added a forbiden action to one stage after one day of shooting and never tossed the stage. This allowed the supper squad to shoot it one way and the rest to do it another. Not saying they were right or wrong, but somehow I have been on the losing side both times I do have to say I had a great time, the staff was fantastic, the stages were excellent. Thank you all who put your time and effort in to making the match a success. Now I have to climb back into my hole and figure out how to shoot better when both hands are on the gun.
  13. I am with you Mo, I was the one ahead of you! it dropped me a place in the match
  14. I'd try and justify it in saying that it is a device to discourage shooter movement, much like a rope, barrel, or a wall. Fault lines are not permitted but obstacles are
  15. I double checked my name is coming up in her list twice with two different amounts. Sharpen the razor buddy! you are getting your butt handed to you.
  16. Just trying to help out the kids I emailed this thread to Frank, I know he'll do the right thing too
  17. Scott, Have you tried aligning the press? Dillon has a little tool that helps get the lower alligned with the tool head. I never knew there was such a thing or that I even had a problem I just figured I was getting carless and would munch a few cases, then I broke a index ring and they sent the tool as you have to align it when you replace the ring. My case munching has now gone away! Then it started getting the primer munchies, and I found I had badly work the primer seating punch, a new one was installed yesterday, alligned the primer seater (with another little tool they had sent) and life was good for the 1000 rounds I did yesterday.
  18. Bob Vogel walks around with one all the time
  19. /flame suit on/ The smoke, I shoot the MG 147 CMJs with the solo you would think it would be as smoke free as you can get but the reality is there is a good bit of it. I was going to give TG a go as well as VVN320.
  20. Ryan, any pressure problems with that? I have been a solo1000 user and have been considering the switch but I generally shoot closer to 138pf and I use montanna gold which usually takes a bit more powder to make the same pf.
