It sounds to me that YOU are causing a problem because you are worried about a problem that doesn't exist. By being afraid that you are not chambering a round (why? does your gun have a feed problem?) you are press checking your gun and not letting it go into battery. Fully seat the magaine and let the slide go. Why wouldn't it chamber a round?

I kept hearing about how well this powder worked for some and I thought I'd give it a try. I tested two groups of 23.5 and 24 grains of RL15 at 2.250 OAL and had one group with 24 grains come in at under 1" at 100 yards. Throwing out a called flier the remaining four were under .75". This was with an 18" stainless Noveske. No chrono data yet.

I had the exact same problem. It was a wrestling match, but I finally got it to go in. I wonder if they crimp that middle ring to keep it from coming out if it breaks??? That's where it was hanging up for me. I think I may have used a small amount of lube but it still got shaved off a bit. I wonder if you could sand it a little. I don't know if that would impact it's light drawing capabilities.

I had to bury the front sight as deep in the notch as I could see. You may just have to use a six o'clock hold with slugs.

I recently added some grip tape to my Glock 22 and I really like it. Will the grip tape adhere to a Gen 4? Or have you found the grip to be so much better that tape isn't needed?

I'm loading 75's at 23.5 TAC at 2.255 OAL. 69 SMK's are at 24 grains TAC. My 55's are 25.5 grains and 2.225 OAL.

2011 CMMG Midwest 3-Gun Championships

Is this still on the 3Gun Nation point series? It's not listed at the 3Gun Nation website. -
I found a 26" vent rib barrel at Scottsdale gun club. It's nice. I added a Champion fiber optic as recommended on this site, a plus two Nordic extension and I'm ready to rock.

That would be great. It's not often I can keep money in the bank and spend it on what I intended to. In this case, I've had it sitting for a while.

What weight/brand bullet does your 9 Pro/9L like?
assaulter replied to G-ManBart's topic in S&W (M&P, etc)
Interesting how each gun can be so ammo picky. I've recently finished testing several bullet/powder combo's in my PRO. I did do some groups at 25 yards, but I did it all standing unsupported and the groups suffered. Next testing will be benched at 25. I was really disapointed in the 147 XTP's and I was about to give up on the PRO due to accuracy issues, but after this testing, I'm glad I kept it. The 124 XTP and 147 Missouri Bullet Co. are my new favorites with the 147 PD a close third. Likes: 147 MBC lead with SOLO 1000 or WSF (SOLO was under 1" at 15 yards unsupported) 124 XTP with TG or WSF (grouped 1" at 15 yards standing unsupported with both) 147 PD with WSF was right at 1" at 15 yards Dislikes: 147 XTP with TG were just so-so 2.5"-3" at 15 yards 125 MBC RN grouped well but left more lead 115 WWB 3"-4" at 15 yards -
Is there one out there that can use lead bullets?
-
It's based on a 62 grain bullet, but I can't recall the velocity off hand.

My factory front wasn't hard to get out. It almost fell out while I was shooting. Now it is staked and loctited (blue) in. I'm considering a thinner and shorter Dawson to bring the POI up a bit though.

How does the glass clarity compare to the dms? I understand the eye relief being more flexible, but how about the exit pupil when compared to the dms? Meaning, can you have a sloppier cheekweld than you could with the dms? I know it isn't an eotech/aimpoint but just wondering how critical cheekweld is when compared with the dms. I have a Primary Arms 1-4x with a DMS cat tail (they use the same body) and wondering if the Tac30 is gonna be a true upgrade or a so so one (not including illumination) and whether or not I should look at the higher end PST/XTR/TR24 optics. I went from a DMS to the TAC30 and it is worlds apart. The FOV is much larger and you do not need a perfect cheekweld to pick up the reticle. I found the DMS to be very sensitive to a consistent cheek weld. The clarity of the glass is a huge improvement too. If the Vortex PST had been available I would have bought it, but I'm glad I found this first. My opinion is buy it and don't look back. If you don't like it, you will have no trouble selling it and buying the Vortex. Hell, I might buy it from you as a backup......for a used price of course.

Purchasing an FN SLP Mk1? Who? CA friendly dealer?
assaulter replied to JaeOne3345's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Scottsdale gun club has them in stock. I don't know if they ship to CA though. $899 -
That sucks. I had a G23 let loose once. It's pretty scary. I was lucky to find my extractor and it went back in. I also had to reassemble my magazine. Glad you're ok. Post pics! I'd also like to know if your barrel has lead in it. It may not have been the lead bullets.
-
Cool. Where did you get that price? Drool. OMB Guns in Olathe Kansas. They are police trade in mags. I also got two G23 mags. They all look great.
-
I was soooo close to buying one this morning, I had it in my hand but I wanted to wait on the Gen 4. I did buy five G17 mags for $10 a piece for my future G34.

I think the spring in my Pro has loosened up after a few thousand. I've mostly shot 147's right at 900fps with no problems.

I just ordered a vent rib barrel for my SLP. Is there a particular fiber optic sight that may be better or worse than the others? I'd like something that would replace the stock bead fairly easily. Looking for advice here, thanks.

Another option is to install a Browning Gold 12 Action spring and run the heavy piston. It will cycle everything without beating up your gun. It has the added benefit of making it much easier to cycle the gun by hand in the event of a malfunction (hopefully a rare event). On my gun at least, I could barely reach under the gun and pull the bolt back at all with my weak hand. With the light action spring I can do it pretty easily.
