  1. Nice job. I don't have the sack to try something like that. But that turned out great.
  2. Another +1 for Nordic. I got mine out to the range today and shot around 300 rounds. It choked on Remington subsonics, which didn't really surprise me. Federal bulk pack was excellent with my best group at 1/2" at 50 yards for zeroing. Only one failure to fire with the bulk pack. Honestly I expected more than that. It was a lot of fun plugging away at the steel. I was shooting at 5" plates from 50 yards and dropping them with no problem. Bottom line, it was fun and I got about $100 worth of trigger pulls for about $10. A few more range trips and this baby paid for itself. Not to mention the savings in barrel life for my competition rifle. One thing I will mention is that the barrel length includes the flash hider. It gives the appearance that it is slightly shorter than my 18" Noveske. Had I known that, I think I would have gotten the 20" version. Not a big deal, but worth noting.
  3. How huge? I think it was 12" high and 10" left. I have had no difference in accuracy though. Still getting under an inch at 100 yards with a Noveske barrel.
  4. I just went from a Miculek to a Titan and had a huge POI change.
  5. If the vortex viper pst with the moa reticle was out, i would probably go with that. I'm leaning towards a Burris xtr. I'm not sure the bdc would be an issue until 400 or 500 yards, and even then it should be somewhat close.
  6. How well do the BDC's work with handloads that may not have the same velocity or weight that the reticle is calibrated for?
  7. I've never gave a lot of concern to what velocity I was getting other than an indicator of pressure. I was using xm 193 for 3gun matches this year, but I think for next year I'll do my own. My accurate load with 55's are getting 2900 which is pretty slow compared to the 3200 fps I was getting with factory ammo. That's about another 13" drop at 500 yards. I'm going to stick with 55's for now to keep it simple. I have loads for 69's and 75's but it's a pain keeping three different zeros. So what are you getting from your 55's?
  8. I'm no expert, but I would be concerned with shells coming out of the tube when they aren't supposed to if it were polished too much.
  9. This happens to me also. The fix is to only use quality new ammo on match day. In practice if I have one that doesn't load, working the bolt once or twice gets it to chamber for me.
  10. I have looked at those before. What would be a good color for 3gun shooting?
  11. That was my first spinner. I didn't like it. I used 9 pellet 00 Buckshot. It became apparant very quickly that I wasn't getting enough pellets on target. I swear I heard laughing coming from DOWNrange.
  12. At first MGM said they didn't, then said they would, then said they can't. Then they called me back this afternoon and said they would. So at this point I have an order in. I'm glad it worked out and I am able to buy from them since they support so many matches. And for the record I didn't have a problem knocking any of them over, when they were hit anyway.
  13. Earlier in this thread Ruf said the pistol/shotgun plates were 5x5's. I thought they were MGM targets but they are telling me they don't make those, even though their website says they do. So can anyone tell me for sure what size they are and where to get them?
  14. One thing I have noticed when dry firing my Pro is that the front sight will jump to the right when the trigger breaks. If I "set" the slide to the right before I fire, it doesn't do this. The slide has a lot of slop left to right in it. I wonder if this is enough to through a shot off just a bit before the bullet leaves the barrel? I haven't had a chance to test this theory at the range. Anyone else have a lot of slide movement at the muzzle?
  15. My 18" Noveske Bbl is driving 55's about 3200fps with Federal m193 off strippers. I get close to 1moa. What is long range to you for a 5.56?
  16. Is that in western Wyoming? Where can I get some more info?
  17. Are there any quality training classes out there specifically for 3Gun competition? Something geared toward speed and not beginner shooting skill sets. For that matter, would anyone care to post some of their practice drills for rifle and shotgun?
  18. I love my McCormick trigger in my competition rifle. It makes my patrol rifle trigger feel like I'm pulling a freight train. And for the record, I'm not sponsored by CMC.
  19. Kirk posted that the Ozark match will be September 9-11, 2011. I'm pretty sure the registration form I have for the FNH/CMMG Midwest match in Fayette is May 20-22, 2011.
  20. Stage 7 Stage 8 Stage 7 was not my best performance. The swinger is the devil. I was using 9 pellet 00 Buckshot and obviously not putting enough pellets on steel. Then, like many others, got sucked into it and used to much ammo.
  21. Here are some of my videos. Sorry, no cool music like Jesse's. And I don't shoot as fast either. What a great match! Already looking forward to next year. Stage 5 Stage 4 Stage 3 Stage 2 Stage 1
  22. Outstanding match. Can't wait for tomorrow. Hopefully wont have another loaded gun pointed at me! I'm probably not shooting as fast as jessee, but things are going smooth.
