  1. Take the high road. Make the attempt. This way you can always say you did the best that you could do. I am no expert and believe me, I should use this advice more often myself.

  3. A good teacher learns as much from their students as thier students learn from them.
  4. Sure will be........wont be freezing my A$% off this winter! LOL I begin my new job September 26. I think may be living in the Lincolnton area. Walnut Grove would not be too far away. Unfortunatly I am not yet equiped for 3-gun(hope to be in the future).
  5. If your Die is adjustable, turn the adjusting screw in a bit......not too much or you could brake the die or it may not fit back into your die stock. Back it off for the first pass, then re adjust back to origional setting and take another pass. you can check fit with a nut. Maybe even try 3 passes. As a tip........for any threading a cheap alternative (and safe) to cutting oil is canola oil. If you have a choice in material selection choose 12L14 or 12L15. Free machining steels. Will cut easier and produce better surface finish.
  6. VT was hammered with rain. Mostly southern and central. I have relatives and friends who will not have power and a way to drive to or from there homes for some time. Some are not even accesible by ATV. Where I am we were spared, alot of rain and some damaging winds.....but not the rain they had south of us. A few of these same places had just rcovered from some severe flooding last spring. One river crested at over 4 feet above the all time highest it has ever been!
  7. By "hostile" are you referring to violent? Or just head games(BS?) and internal politics? I am no ex-spurt but had the "opportunity" to work in an environment where one employee (who now is ex employee)conducted his own slow "contamination" of the whole buisness.
  8. I have an 05 GMC that I really like and I need to keep it going for quite awhile. Anyone ever have any luck stopping rust? We currently live where there is alot of road salt used. I know many spray oil........but that is dangerous and an environmantal hazard. What are my options?
  9. Thanks guys, I may be in the area by October. Will be on a tight budget for awhile but would love to get out and shoot. A newbie looking to learn, have shot here with our local organization.....great guys.......but look forward to meeting other shooters!

  13. What are we looking to acieve by polishing? Reliability, brass lasting longer, a larger chamber?
  14. I cut and shaped a piece of aluminum to replace the magazine in a Para frame that worked just fine. It exteneded about 5" below the frame so I could hold it in the vice at different angles. I made this to make checkering the front strap a little easier. Due to the plastic grip on STI/SVI's, I've never bothered to make one but it should work. Just don't get too rough with it. Bill I was thinking of something similar. Possibly something that would be secure for stability while cleaning/work etc. I thought I saw something comercially availiable. R
  15. What is availiable for holding semi auto handguns for cleaning and working on? Padded vise? Some sort of a fixture? I thought I saw somewhere something that fit into the magwell?
