  1. A good tight, slide to frame fit is a good thing. Why dont you change out the MSH and get a lighter mainspring in there and also the recoil spring. My Wilson Combat was the same way and it made it much easier by dropping a 16 lb recoil spring in it
  2. I can understand where you are coming from. I am not sure what classification i would be shooting USPSA, but i am a CDP Expert. I definitely would not want to continue using the Eagle down the road. I can always see myself shooting IDPA because I enjoy it, but i feel at heart, i am definitely a USPSA guy. I love the high speed action and since i moved away from ATL I've missed it ever since. Just too much driving opposed to local IDPA matches. Im shooting pretty much every sat and sun at the local level and next year i want to dedicate atleast 1 weekend day to a local USPSA match and hit a few state's. Not sure if i will shoot limited or SS, but i would like having the option. After looking custom routes it doesnt look like prices are too unaffordable to me. Is there anyone with a decent turn around though? Are they like semi-custom and custom 1911's or faster?
  3. I appreciate the offer Don! I'd definitely like to, just seems we can never get our schedules matching up
  4. IDPA power floor for SSP and ESP and USPSA Minor power factor are the same. 125 or 125,000 , depending on how you look at it. Gotcha! I appreciate the response. I will have to do a little load devolpment i guess, no biggie! Ive never used a 160 gr before.
  5. I am actually shoot IDPA and im not sure what pf is. I will have to check to make sure
  6. Fin, Fur, Feather in Ashland, OH
  7. Hey guys! I was wondering on some load data for 9mm and VV. I was using REDDOT and 231 for awhile, but just got 4lb's of 320 and need to load up some old bullets i have laying around. Ive got 115 and 147 jacketed, and 124 LRN.
  8. As already mentioned if you are shooting CDP it doesn't really matter what SSP is doing since you don't shoot against them. As far as the classifier times I'm guessing that when the classifier times were set most guns in SSP were DA/SA where now it is mostly Glocks and M&P's. Greg I agree with you about what it used to be and what it is now, but the key word is change! With the evolution of guns and equipment, rules must change if they are outdated. People say it used to be da/sa and now its more striker and it just hasnt been updated but almost the entire ssp rules have been tweaked to cover glock and the like platforms. And I think a lot miss my point! I understand CDP does not compete against SSP, but if stages are supposed to be designed to be gun neutral as much as possible, times should be similar. All I am trying to address is times on classifier is times of SSP and CDP should almost be flipped! Over 7 sec separates the two and I think it would be safe to say that it is easier to shoot in the SSP category then CDP. I still dont feel like i am portraying my feelings correctly. I brought the same topic up on IDPA's fb pages and I got a response saying I should be trying to describe what is more adventageous to shoot. Does anyone share similar feelings or have i completely lost everyone?
  9. I did not attend, but I am surprised to hear so many positive comments. I am good friends with my AC and as soon as monday morning hit, he was getting calls with complaints. The most common theme was, from start to finish it was a complete failure! That is not good to hear for sure especially because good or bad SO's, they still worked their tails off im sure. Ive heard more planning and execution problems then the actual match design, but either way it is no good! A world shoot should be the best match one has ever shot in their IDPA experiences. I have heard from some hardcore IDPA guys that they will not be participating in the sport anymore and that is drastic considering that is the only action pistol they shoot...

has anyone ever played with REDDOT? I tried some out and liked it quite a bit with .45 200 LSWC's. It is high up on the burn chart, clean, and very cheap! It doesnt seem like a lot of people talk about it or use it though so it means its either a sleeper or people dont use it for a reason!

Ready Tactical or Comp-Tac is what i would look to
  12. Where is a good place to purchase? Also I have seen some videos of guys with small airsoft poppers, where can one get these from?
  13. That looks like an extremely good time! Ive been to some good matches, but that looks to have been one of the most unique
  14. I agree with you Steve, but it still doesnt make sense to me then if that is true, why do SSP shooters get more time on the classifier? It is supposed to be a test of skill and because CDP has a single action trigger were supposed to be faster? How about the .45 ACP that were shooting and lower mag capacities.
  15. Nice to hear from you Randy!! I used to shoot indoor with you when i was living in ATL. Your boy outshooting you yet?
  16. Thanks guys!! Im pretty sure Im set on the Eagle. I would love to do a full build at some point. I checked into SV, but I dont think that is something i will be able to afford right now. As far as custom vs. STI, I have some production 1911's and i have a CQB and NH Predator. Is it pretty much the same stuff with full custom build 2011's? The one thing i never understood on the 2011's was the price. There using a polymer frame, inferior finishes, still need to tune mags and the guns are so expensive!!! That has always been what turned me off about them! I am also work for a retail store and can get the gun significantly cheaper, but even at that, prices are not far off ed brown and les baer pricing!! Any rhyme or reason on this?
  17. Hey guys, I am wanting to get some people's opinions on the STI Eagle. I am thinking about getting a bushing barreled Eagle in .40. Currently I shoot IDPA and USPSA when i feel like driving. There is not much locally, but tons of IDPA. I like shooting them both, but I know as i get more serious i will need to settle in and choose one. I do not plan on staying where i am at currently and a lot of the states i am looking at moving to are full of USPSA. Anyway, enough ranting. Im wondering if i get the Eagle, would it really make that much of a difference shooting it in limited? Im thinking it would pretty much be the ultimate ESP gun, but not having that much money I dont have enough to get an Eagle and a Edge for Limited. I will probably go with a dedicated setup for limited when funds arrive, but do you think i could remain competitive as long as my abilities are there with the Eagle?
  18. I'd say to just bump up the loads personally! I found tons of problems when trying to light load 9mm. It felt really sluggish. I know it is not help about the recoil spring, but it is just my .02
  19. An ICE magwell for XDM would be awesome!!!
  20. CDP Expert ESP Sharpshooter I was seeing how fast i could shoot in ESP and had a good run going until we went back to 25. Next time i will slow it down a few and hopefully I can get into master. Atleast, that is the goal
  21. The classifier is not bad, but I dont think it is the best judge of skill. Personally, I dont think I will get out of Expert! I practice the distance strings all the time and do good but as soon as im doing the classifier i botch it up! Shooting low(from cover) and all over the target from 25. Plus I am a CDP shooter and I really dont understand why SSP gets more time then CDP, when every state match i go to top SSP is atleast 10 seconds faster then CDP
