  1. Sorry I wasnt clear, I am looking for good loads for IDPA and occassionally USPSA. Kevin, Im not saying you are incorrect, but I ended up loading my 124 FMJ's with 4.1 grs of N320. A lot of other data such as solo and TG are loaded much lighter to achieve same PF. I know the difference is miniscule, but still I would like to try some different stuff. Plus VV is not easy to find all the time locally so if anything I would like a go to, back up powder when i cant find it. I have a load down and recorded with the N320. What about Clay's? Hogdon's says the max is 3.3 on it, but I know quite a few people that load to 3.6 and are completely fine. I dont like the idea of going past or pushing a powders max charge, but I hear a lot of good stuff about Clays. I absolutely HATED Uni Clays and that is why i didnt even want to give any other of their products a look
  2. The only thing i do not care for is the BTGS. Sometimes with an improper draw or SHO shooting, I do not disengage it, but that is because of my hand size
  3. I have about 3k through my Spartan without any big issues. It does not like JHP's, but runs great with 115's and 124's
  4. Very cool Corey! What powder are you using for the 9mm? And have you had issues with the 125's LCN?
  5. It seems to me that powders are a lot of personal preference. One person finds something that works and they tell anyone else asking that its the best stuff out there and push it really hard. It seems to me that a lot of the old school reloaders like powders like W231 because it is a good all around powder. I just hate load development and so I am going to buy 5 1 lb jug's, do testing and settle in on one of them. So which should be my top 5? I just got done loading about 1500 124 fmj's w/ N320 and while it is definitely a consistent and accurate powder so are a lot of others for quite a bit less. I know people swear by it, but I just dont think it is going to be the powder for me based on price. I am going to be shooting almost primarily 124 fmj's and 125 LCN bullets, so which 5 would you trial?
  6. I have now switched to their primers, but even at that I have never had issues with any ammunition through a Glock so that leads me to believe something is wrong with parts in the gun
  7. congrats, i just picked up a 5.25 9mm as well. Have not got to shoot it yet, but will get at it tomorrow most likely. Ive been shooting a G34 for a few years now, but I really liked the ergo's on the 5.25, so decided to give it a try.
  8. I swapped striker assemblies with my 17 the other day and had 2 more FTF's today. I talked to Glock and they said to replace the channel liner and FP sleeve and cups.... This is getting pretty ridiculous! If this doesnt work, i am going to replace every part in the slide and hopefully it corrects it, but i hope it does not come to that
  9. One company not to overlook is Wilson Combat. They make a great barrel for a G17. IMO easily compared to BarSto.
  10. Why not for IDPA? In my experience, a .40 can be very competitive depending on shooter and/if shooter reloads. I actually feel that the recoil impulse from a .40 is better than having a 9mm light loaded. If you want to shoot both sports, go with the .40
  11. Thanks for the input! Once I get the problem resolved, I think I am going to grab one of these trigger assemblies.
  12. checked them out and i will keep it in mind. What about add on magwells?
  13. I agree with you! I only use this gun for competition, but i want it to be reliable. Somewhere in that 3-3.5 lb range and i will be happy. I shoot the stock trigger fine, but I feel that having the somewhat common feel between my Glock and Wilson Combat will create less of a disparity when switching platforms.
  14. Like the title says, Im looking for the best magwell that will fit in the box! It seems like everyone and their mother is producing some version of a magwell, what do you guys use
  15. ended up going with 4.08 grs with the 124 fmj Precision delta's
  16. +1 Are the light strikes off center at all? That is another sign of trying to fire oob. They are not off center. I was able to get out to shoot a little tonight. I swapped my 34 and 19 striker's and had no issues with either gun! I focused more on the 34 then the 19 though and i only had time to put off 100 rounds. I am definitely going to order a new striker for the 34, but i would like to upgrade my trigger anyway. Since I am shooting ESP, there is no reason not to take advantage of the rules. So what do i go with? Factory parts tuned, vanek, glockworx, or someone not mentioned!?
  17. I do have an aftermarket assembly in, but when i first started experiencing the problems i swapped it out for the stock one and still had the issues. Either way, I need to get it to run WITH the aftermarket guide rod and 11 lb spring. I was having ejection issues with the stock assembly with my reloads, that is the main reason that i went with the different spring
  18. Yes ammo was ruled out. Primer depth is good and the firing pin channel is clean. I will swap strikers and try that. Does anyone have recommendations on if it is possible to get a 3.5 lb trigger while remaining reliable? Even if i get the striker issue figured out, i still would like to update the assembly
  19. I have personally not done anything to the trigger. It looks upon inspection to be a standard glock trigger. When i first had this problem i checked the firing pin spring and realized the previous owner cut coils off of it. I replaced it with a factory spring. Primers are not Federal and it has been discussed before. I went to the range the other day and was playing around with the 34. After, I picked up all the "misfires"(all primers had been struck) stuck them back in a mag and put them through my G19. All fired..... As far as I know this is a stock g34. Trigger assembly may have been polished but besides that, its factory internals. If I could get a 3.5 # trigger that remained reliable i would be happy!!! Ive ran strings with a 1911 w/ 2.75 lb trigger and mine at 3.5 lb's. Split times were all comparable.... So im not looking to make it super light. Id like 3.5 and ultra reliable, is it possible and how do i achieve it?
  20. I just did some chrono testing with some 124's and VV320. I shot them through a 5" 1911 and Sig 226. 4.0 put me over with 5 shots at 988, 1056, 1031, 1042, and 1063, but i think i would bump the charge to 4.1-4.2 to be safe. This is with the 1911. The 226 at the same charge was 994, 975, 966, 951, 974. I am going to run these at 4.2 and im going to do some intense load development for the 147's. That is going to be my go to bullet after i run these Precision Delta's out.
  21. Hey guys. I started a thread a while ago about my g34 and light primer strikes. I did some trial and error and im down to the fact that it has to be the striker. My question.... I'm using the gun for ESP, should I get a factory striker again or get one of the lightened ones. If the latter, which one?
  22. From the sounds of it, it sounds like its going to be amazing! Im glad im making the trip! And thanks for clearing up the sleeping issue. I was going to call on monday to try and find that out.
  23. Hey guys, Just wanted to see if anyone else here is planning on attending the Shoothouse Shootout in Moyock at the end of the month... If anyone has been there before, what did you think of it? Me and a few buddies are going down and anticipate a lot of fun
  24. 9mm 1911's are a ton of fun. I use one for ESP in IDPA and it is a blast. I have a STI Trojan and its some great quality.
  25. Ya we will be open monday. Id appreciate that don!
