  1. is there a ipad/iphone scoring app yet?
  2. I love shooting, I love it as a hobby though. I think I would get burned out if it is all I did 8-10 hours every day. No doubt I would be a much better shooter, but I think that to beat TGO you would have to have the devotion and the desire to work CONSTANTLY on the sport. I just don't. I do think that starting kids young exponentially increases their chances of being great. How many 17-20 year old shooters do you know that aren't better than a lot of the old guys? Seems like they just pick it up faster and are able to move/react faster than I can. I am running an experiment on the subject right now. Unfortunately my boy is only 4 but as soon as he can draw and fire safely, I will have him out there shooting and as long as I can afford it, he will have an unlimited amount of rounds to fire. Stay tuned for the results.
  3. It will happen when you least expect it. You will just realize that you have stopped blinking one day. Chances are that the harder you concentrate on it the harder it will be for you to stop it.
  4. Every time that it has happened to me in a round I have immediately known what the problem was. Either ran it dry and forgot to reload or didn't seat my mag correctly and it couldn't get to the first one in the mag. I know this isn't exactly what you were asking about, but in my <1 year's experience this is what I have personally seen. I know that this does happen sometimes without an immediate and obvious explanation. In that case I like to think I would tap rack bang. Chances are though that I would drop the mag, rack the slide, poo in my pants, click a few more times and then figure it out.
  5. My Dillon case gauge is looser than my lone wolf 40 barrel. I have found the lyman's to be the tightest. If it won't fit the Lyman I make sure it fits the barrel. I check every round on 40 and only a few per run in 9 and 45.
  6. I have a similar set up. Same sight, comp, magwell, LW barrel, and Arredondo extensions. Good gun, but no where near my new gun which is a Tangfolio open rig in 38 super. I didn't play with the loads as much as I wanted to for the glock, but I never got it shooting anywhere near as flat as the tanfoglio. Also had lots of problems with the sight. Dot goes out if you tighten it down too much.
  7. I think it is a cool idea, if you like it, great, use it, copy it or whatever, for those of you who don't want to use it, just don't. You don't have to be Mr. Negative and tell everybody else why they shouldn't use it and what's wrong with it. I recently bought an Ipad and had it at work with me. a lot of my co-workers sat around telling me why they wouldn't buy it and what it needs to be better, and the like. Guess what, I didn't buy it for them, and don't really care what they think. Much like the OP, he came up with an idea that was original if nothing else and decided to share it with us. I for one am glad he did, I am going to develop my own .ppt and use it myself. THANKS AGAIN TO THE OP.
  8. As others have said, you will want room on both sides. Mine is 14 inches from the right end and I have plenty of room for brass bucket on the right side and lead and scales on the left.
  9. Here is something no one else has suggested. Perhaps the problem is in you equipment. Send me all your guns, reloading equipment, holsters, mags, etc and I I'll try them out for a while.
  10. Sounds like more of a crimping issue rather than a resizing issue. As others have said seating and cri ping on one operation is a bad idea. I had the same problems trying to load ACP on a lee pro 1000. Wend to a Dillon seating and crimping separately fixed all the problems ( other than flocked brass, u die and lee FCD fixed that)
  11. I found that to make videos and movies the way i want them it requires more than one program. Sometimes WMM works and Camtasia doesn't sometimes it is the other way around. Sometimes I have to use quicktime pro to convert the MP4 files to AVI before Camtasia will work with them. Adobe Premier Elements never works. I have a quad core processor and 2gb of ram and it still chokes. Someone told me I need at least 4gb to run premier. Screw that. Camtasia is my program of choice. Camtasia is almost exactly like WMM but with a few more options. Simple answer - no, you can't upload the wmm file. It is not in video format. You have to produce it first. As it has been said, don't do anything else while it is producing. Shut down all processes that are not necessary, and babysit it, disable screensaver too.
  12. I hate you. You are going to make me go off and spend MORE money that I don't have. Seriously, that is a sweet rig. It would match my open blaster perfectly.
  13. I have not had a good experience with the STS. If you tighten the sight mount down sufficiently to hold It in place the dot goes away. If you loosen it up enough to keep the dot from turning off, the sight gets loose and you lose your zero. (in a slide mounted configuration, anyway). I have had it for about 3 months and I got it set up for a while and din't have any problems for a little while but the window between tight enough and too tight is too small. All of these problems happened to me in the middle of a major area match. You do have to go to a different holster to run a frame mounted sight but it is worth it to have one that you are confident in. Not to mention the acquisition is much faster with a railway over a STS.
  14. Yeah, I just bought a 38SC open gun. Not going to get rid of this one yet though.
  15. I have a 550 and I run a EGW U die in station one and a Lee FCD in the last stage and have no problems and all my 40 is "glocked". Most is fired from a lone wolf barrel though. I took some rounds to a gunsmith one time before I had this setup and was having chambering problems. My lone wolf barrel is tighter than my Dillon case gauge and the Lyman case gauge is tighter than the barrel. Most of my rounds won't pass a Lyman case gauge but none of them give me issues in my gun.
  16. I have been loading for 6 months or so and shooting competitively about that long as well. I had my first interaction with a Chrono at my last match. I was loading 180 gr bayou bullets over 5.7 grains of unique. Well, I found out that that was 192.5 PF. Obviously, I need to back that down a tad, but it was also brought to my attention that with the carver comp, I should go to a slower burning powder to work the comp more effectively. They told me a few different IMR powders, but I was about to shoot and didn't write anything down and I don't remember what it was. What are your recommendations for powders to "work a comp" with .40 major loads?
  17. FWIW- I have bought lots of bullets from lots of places , black bullets, green bullets, MG, zeros, etc. I have reached a point in my life where a few $ per thousand don't make nearly as much difference as it used to. I buy only bayou/green bullets now. My barrel is always spotless. Donnie has at times stretched out deliveries, but as long as you plan accordingly you won't have availability issues. I prefer the green bullets because of their performance but I also like dealing with good people. Donnie is good people. I do have the benefit of living relatively close to him and I am able to go by and pick them up when I need them too. There are probably cheaper bullets out there that give equal performance to Donnies bullets and there are probably more expensive bullets that offer better results than his but I am not at the point in my abilities where I can tell the difference in a good bullet and a great bullet and in my opinion his bullets are fairly priced.
  18. After much research, I have decided upon this as my next open gun. I am having trouble finding who sells them or where I can get one in the states. Can you help?

    g35 or g34

Not sure about this as far as classes in USPSA goes but couldn't you just get a Lonewolf drop in barrel and extractor and shoot 9MM out of the G35? Would that take him out of Production? That has been a plan of mine for a production/L10/Limited gun. Not terribly worried about fitting into all of the categories but Production would be fun. I could add a magwell and shoot Limited if I build it right.
  20. You should definitely trade that puppy off to me. I have a Kimber I will swap you for it.
  21. I had the same problem and the thing that I finally figured out was that I needed to be seating and crimping in two separate operations (I was using a lee pro 1000). I sent the lee back and bought a Dillon 550B and now seat and crimp separately and have no problems. My problem was easy to see when I checked them in the chamber though. I would drop a bullet in the barrel and it would get stuck when it was almost all the way seated. Had to get a screwdriver to get them out. Now when I drop them in the barrel I get that nice "click" when the round headspaces correctly. Switching to the Dillon probably cured other problems as well. I am not going to completely dis the Lee. I do have one that I load all my 45 ACP on and have no issues at all. It just didn't get along with my 40's.
  22. I had that same mount and couldn't find a holster that worked. What holster are you planning on using?
  23. Find someone who owns a waterjet and make friends. I have one and have used it to cut all types of plastic.
